I flew on 29th March 2018 for my 70th Birthday present from my wife. The weather was closing in so it was a bit harum -scarum. I too got to fly with gentle manoeuvres. Wingtip turn over Beachy Head and then a pass over the Dieppe ferry to give the passengers a cheer, and then back up to Detling and then a victory roll over the M26 and back to Biggin. 45 minutes was all too short, but I relive regularly in my mind. The tour round the museum was incredible, and then we went for a meal in the pub which used to be the pilots' pub after the day was done. Well done Jeremy you made an old man complete. Thank you my darling wife.
Been there myself and until you do it nothing comes close to the feeling etc, the smell of old plane/oil inside the cockpit and considering its sounds absolutely amazing from outside it sounds like a bag of nails when sat inside. Truly the best thing i ever did, and if it dont bring your eyes to tears flying down the cliffs then it defo will when you do a victory roll 🥹
I live in the flight path for Biggin Hill. Spitfires and (occasionally) Hurricanes fly over my house, undercarriage down. I’ve wondered if the tandem Spitfire rides are worth the expenditure. This has answered my question. An unequivocal YES. It looked amazing. I’m in.
It definitely is! You only live once, you can't take it with you, it's less than the instant depreciation on a new car when it leaves the garage and it's a 'high' that never leaves you! And you're helping to keep these beauts flying because it costs a lot to do so
@@Croonedaway I heard it's anything from £2000 up to £10,000 depending on the package that's well beyond the reach of many. Glad you had a memorable experience though that's great👍
Yes, dual controls. I had control for about 10 minutes but no aerobatics! The pilot was excellent and depending on the flight length (mine was 45 mins) you could possibly ask for more
@@Croonedaway what an experience! Have you seen the new MK IV spitfire in MFS2020? Looks absolutely stunning! Hopefully one day I’ll get a chance to fly in one🤞
@@infinite2246 No I haven't. The behind the scenes tour of Biggin Hill is brilliant too, although you're not allowed to take photos of the BoB memorial flight planes
Bloody Marvellous...........

❤❤
I would have preferred the canopy back to get the full experience
That is wonderful, but REALLY no need for the music; the Merlin is providing that.
Did the aircraft have a second controller stick in the back? Where you aloud to take control for a brief second?
Yes, dual controls. I had control for about 10 minutes but no aerobatics! The pilot was excellent and depending on the flight length (mine was 45 mins) you could possibly ask for more

Are the cameras from and rear facing?
Yes - GoPro as you are not allowed normal cameras for safety
Kill the music- lets just hear the engine from Rolls Royce
