Awesome. I just put a Jdm fuel tank in my car last year. Still finishing the car so I haven’t started it yet. But this is still good to know and I can go over mine .
Good video. I have been looking for content like this. Quick question, in your video it seems you are able to remove all the oem runner fuel lines without dropping the tank. Is this true? I am planning on removing all the oem rubber/hard feed/return lines with braided hoses. Are the oem rubber lines bolted/clipped on top of the tank or are you able to remove them easily once disconnected from the pump and hard line?
There is one place where the oem hard lines mount to the fuel tank on the top drivers side. (mine was rusted off) You should be able to disconnect that bolt/nut, then disconnect the lines (2 quick connect - 2 slides over hose) and work around the e-brake cable to remove that piece. But the tank will probably need to be lowered a bit to do so. (not fully removed, just lower the front of the tank as much as you can without touching that rear diff mount bar)
Thank you so much for this video, I have to replace the hard line (12) in my Evo IX, do you think i can tilt the tank enough without lowering the rear diff? Best regards steffen
Hello. I'm not sure which specific line you are referring to. But yet, most of them are accessible enough to change from a tilt of the gas tank and access through the below rear seat panels.
Does anybody have any idea where the the tip over tank safety valve hose connects to from a JDM fuel tank on a JDM fuel filler neck? The JDM fuel filler neck has only 2 places for hoses to attach to and that is the breather hose mentioned in this video and obviously the large fuel fill hose.
Hopefully you're still around to reply but I was trying to siphon some nasty e85 out of my evo 9 and the siphon tube got stuck about a foot into the fill neck tube lol any suggestions on how to get it back out without doing all this crazy shit?
@@tacosaladone22oneso? Thats when all these parts will actually have value to resell lol what? Ford and GM have parts for their old ass pos cars brand new for their signature cars. Nice faded logic reply but also pointless
The siphon tube is part number MR556880. It is still available at the dealership

I just realised my Evo tank syphen side is smaller than yours that's what the gasket is for myns and Evo 7
Hello. did you end up using the JDM fuel filler neck? How did that go?

@@BoostedFilms OK thanks, i will try (wihout a lift)
How do you bypass the fuel temperature sensor
Do you happen to know what an alternative hose for the filler neck would be? Parts stores and Mitsubishi both seem to not have this anymore

How do you change the fuel tank temperature sensor? I have a check engine light but not sure if I have to drop the tank to change the sensor
Can they stop discontinuing everything. Its crazy how they just stop making parts for cars that arent even that old
.... I mean it's almost 20 years old bro lol
