Hi, the order in which you select the shapes is important. You first have to select the background shape, then the ones you want to subtract. Is this what's causing the issue for you?

I have found an alternative less clean way and am still able to do the other steps shown in the video so it's good.

Hi, I noticed there are some limitations to the free online version. Shape format is missing for example. For this you would need to upgrade your powerpoint version.

Hi Daniel, sharp eye! I only noticed during the editing. I accidentally cut it of with the overlaying rectangle I used to “subtract” the pills. I would make that one a bit larger, having it overflow the slide. This way all shapes keep their original rounded corners.
Alternatively you could also make the pills smaller, so they fit the slide. But I like the “overflow” effect on the edges. Thanks for the nice comment by the way 🙏💜

Make sure to work in the desktop app, not the web version. This has al the features. You have to purchase it via office.com 🙏💜

I'm on the desktop version. Once I union the picture and duplicate I can't go make to the first image and intersect as it is greyed out. Doesn't work.

sadly doasnt work in older veersions (i use power point 2013 for some reason, i just like it).. but surely a good thing!
You might need a more recent version indeed. I do have tutorials like the push transitions that would work and look great as well!
