Thank you for playing this beautiful song that has such an important place in my life. Four years ago my beautiful wife of twenty years lost her life to cancer. I had to return to our house briefly, but on the way back to the hospital this was the song that was on the radio, and it nearly floored me. In those final hours I told her, "Let's put all the cares behind us and go where they'll never find us, and "Just take my hand and run away." I really want to believe she heard me before the night came for her. RIP Mila, there's not a day that goes by when I don't think about you.
When the night comes by Joe cocker it is all well put together everything is well put together and Mr Joe cocker is a teacher of music if anybody if anybody ever wants to be singer this is the guy to listen to and he's very good teacher of music just watch and listen he teach
Joe Cocker's live performances were a force of nature! His band really was that tight. I saw him at an outdoor venue the year before he passed; a casino in Iowa. Covered in sweat, he belted out ALL of his hits with incredible power and energy. One of the best concerts that I've ever been to.
Jay & Amber, You'll love his "The Letter" and "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" !!!! edit- todays song written by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance, Diane Warren. The background singers on the album version Tawatha Agee and Vaneese Thomas, so probably here also.
This song is so incredibly beautiful and powerful. It has very special meaning to me. It was “our” song. It was my fiancé and my song in 1989/90 around the time of our engagement.
What an amazing voice. He can go from a gentle rasp, to a full on growl, to "OMG the man swallowed a rock crusher!" A truly unique talent who is dearly missed.
A couple of other great Joe Cocker songs are “Delta Lady” and the Beatles song “She Came In Through Bathroom Window”. I saw him perform these songs in concert in 1969
YES! I am so glad you did this song and did this live version of it. And you hit all the great points: the iconic scream, the great backup singers and the great band and setting. You could tell by the look on Jay's face that he knew he was hearing something special. I knew the scream was coming and was smiling at your reactions. Excellent!
Another great tune!!!! ❤❤❤ COCKER'S "SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW" IS ANOTHER GREAT COVER OF BEATLES LIKE "WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS") "THE LETTER" IS A GREAT TUNE!!👍👍👍👍
On the same kind of wavelength as Joe for me is Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. "Turn The Page", "Night Moves", and "Against The Wind" are a part of the soundtrack of my youth in the 80's! You wont regret it!
One of my favourite Bryan Adams’ song sung by the great Joe Cocker. I have seen both of them live and they both were amazing in a concert. Bryan’s version is very good, too.
Joe Cocker is in a league of his own, but think you would like the rough, bluesy voice of Delbert McClinton as well. Live version of “Every time I Roll the Dice” would be fun.
OK, you all HAVE to react to any of the videos from the Mad Dogs and Englishman Tour. Leon Russell (from Oklahoma) is the music director with a hand picked band and a full on Hippie Choir backing. It was and is still considered one of the best live rock tours ever. Songs I'd recommend from that Tour are "Space Captain," "The Letter," "Feeling Alright," and "Delta Lady." Joe Cocker is in the zone!
Love Joe Cocker. My wife and I got married in Las Vegas 15 years ago and and I still remember her as she walked down the ale to "you are So Beautiful" with red roses laid out over the floor. Great artist never made a bad song.
You go Joe ! I regret never seeing him perform live. I have watched the Woodstock "With a little help from my friends" footage many many many times. Miss you Joe.
I am so happy that the love I have for Joe Cocker's music began at his professional musical beginnings, that means that I have had that musical gift of joy nearly my whole life. Feeling blessed.
The unique and phenomenally talented Joe Cocker was a true master of his craft, his voice made of gravel, "man-next-door" looks, a stage presence few will ever reach, a powerhouse band behind him, and that musical brain he had all combined, made sure he's one of those artists who will stay relevant for ... well i'd say for ever. The man literally had no bad songs, and even was able to improve on the Beatles (during their height of fame i might add), he embodied the songs he sang, the words could never be more true, as when they were, when he sang them. Somehow Joe does often get overlooked when lists get made of "greatest this/that of all time", but the moment people remind others of Joe, most instantly go along with the "overlooked omg yes, ofc.. him!" reminder because... it's Joe Cocker, one of the greatest artists we've ever had.
You have to check out one of Joe Cocker's backup singers from the early 70's, Miss Rita Coolidge! "Your love is liftin' me (higher and higher) is my favorite song from her, but she also did a 007 theme song, "All time High" from the movie "Octopussy"
I am NOT a Joe Cocker fan, but his version of this Bryan Adams classic is absolutely fantastic. I loved it the minute it came out in the fall of 1989! Thanks for this one and glad you enjoyed it. 😀😀
Actually, this song is NOT a cover. Yes, the song was written by Bryan Adams with Jim Vallance and Diane Warren, but Joe was the first person to record it - appearing on his 1989 album One Night of Sin. Per Jim’s own explanation on his website: Jim and Bryan wrote the verses and Bryan wrote the chorus with Diane a few days later. Jim and Bryan recorded a basic demo which they sent to Joe and his producer, and they recorded the track for their album.
Awesome song here. This was his 80's -90's Renaissance. This song was written and produced by Bryan Adams and his producer Jim Vallance. British Soul at its finest!
Joe Cocker is from Sheffield, England, which was a rough, filthy, steel making town during his childhood. The very air was hazardous all the time and the buildings were covered in black soot. He got that grit in his voice the hard way, but OMG did it pay off for all of us. RIP you old Tyke. ✌️
I saw Joe Cocker open up for the Guess Who on their Running Back Through Canada reunion tour. I thought, hmm, I guess Joe has 2 or 3 songs that I might know. When he was done his set, he had played probably 10 songs, all hits, and every one I knew! Best opening act I've ever seen!
This was a great song of his. He produced it for the movie "An Innocent Man" IN 1989. You guys should watch that movie. The lead actor was Tom Selleck.
Love, love, love this song!! But, when I read the title of the song for some reason the song "Nightshift" by the commodores started playing in my mind... Love that song, too!!
"When The Night Comes" was written by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance and Diane Warren. For those of you who might know Diane Warren, she wrote the song "Look Away" for the band Chicago, and the song went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
One of a kind. Unique entertainer. Edgar Winter - Frankenstein- Live video. Sinatra - That's Life. Steely Dan - Peg, Black Cow Babylon Sisters, Aja, Kid Charlemagne, Home at Last, I Got the News, FM ( No Static ).
Written by Bryan Adams, Jim Vallance and Diane Warren. Released in 1989. Great 👍 RIP Joe Cocker. BA sings his version in concerts. Suggested other video 📹 Joe Cocker sings Edge of a Dream live.
@@you2449 BA and JV also wrote Edge of a Dream. This is from the soundtrack to the movie 🎥 Teachers. Released in 1984. Same year BA released his signature album Reckless. JV likes the demo which BA sings in: 25 years old but sounded younger than Joe Cocker. Coincidentally, JC died 35 years after the release of the movie 🎥 and the soundtrack 😢.
Don't forget George Thorogood in the gritty voice club. And J just needs to get a set of camber chimes already. Every time, he's so happy to hear them.🤣
*Jay & Amber* This song was from The Soundtrack of a Tom Selleck Movie Called "An Innocent Man"...80`s Crime-Drama Movie..The Main song was played @ The end of the movie!
That was a good movie. I was so happy when Tom got even with the cops who framed him. Beautiful ending when he gave the thumbs up 👍 with the Airline ✈️
If you haven't reacted to it yet, Joe Cocker will bring you to tears with his version of YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. It is a live video and is stunning in its emotional depth. Amber may cry. Jay might never forget him, ever again. Enjoy
How's about some great blues singing and the best slide guitar ever for Female Friday? How many blues women have you had on? How about some early Bonnie Raitt like "Women Be Wise".
Cocker always knew who to surround himself with to deliver amazing arrangements. Saw a young Cocker in 1969 @ the First Atlanta Pop Festival & let me tell you, he’s the best! Thanks for another great reaction vid.
I love that this was used in the last scene of the Tom Selleck movie An Innocent Man. It's a must see with F. Murray Abraham, and the underrated David Rashe.
I can’t love this song any more than I already do. There was no one like Joe Cocker. May he rest in peace

My condolences 😢
God bless you and I am sorry for your loss ❤
Love Joe Cocker but I must give props to the backup singers. Absolutely TOP NOTCH.
Not really.. He could carry this on his own with anyone.
If this doesn’t give you goosebumps……I’m not sure what to think. Killer live performance.
I love Joe Cocker also, but props to the band and back up singers! Off the charts!

Love me some Joe Cocker, especially back in the day when he was performing with Leon Russell on the 'Mad Dog & Englishmen' tour.
This is one of my favorite songs of ALL TIME! His voice and his scream! The backing vocals by the ladies. And that guitar solo! Amazing! ❤
What an amazing voice. He can go from a gentle rasp, to a full on growl, to "OMG the man swallowed a rock crusher!" A truly unique talent who is dearly missed.

One of my favourite Bryan Adams’ song sung by the great Joe Cocker. I have seen both of them live and they both were amazing in a concert. Bryan’s version is very good, too.
If you haven’t done it, his rendition of “The Letter” is 🔥
He kicked The Box Tops up several notches. Did the same with The Beatles.
John Belushi used to imitate Joe Cocker on SNL.
It is well worth watching.
The way this man sings, he literally lifts you so high you have to look down to see heaven.
Joe Cocker was fantastic! He was almost always in pain but he sang through it all. What a performer!!
Saw him in concert a couple years before he oassed..
INCREDIBLE!!♥️🌞
100% agree. I saw him open for Steve Miller a couple years before we lost him.
For being as old as he was , when I saw him... freakin' WOW!!!
Love joe cockers raw ragged voice
Joe Cocker is in a league of his own, but think you would like the rough, bluesy voice of Delbert McClinton as well. Live version of “Every time I Roll the Dice” would be fun.
This entire live album is fantastic!!!! After all these years, still one of my favs! The entire band and the background singers are just awesome!
the greatest rock &roll song name of all time...She Came In Through The Bathroom Window. A Beatle song but Joe takes it down the road.
This one was partially written by Bryan Adams, which is clear from the sound.
I just can never get enough Joe Cocker
I was lucky to see Joe Cocker live once and it was an amazing show. He always had a great band supporting him.

Joe Cocker was one of the first singers that I loved as a young kid (as in 5 or 6) in the 70s. Him and Smokey Robinson.

He has such a passion and feeling about him, you can feel his soulfullness in you.
A hidden gem from his debut record that gets far too overlooked is "Hitchcock Railway". You won't be disappointed if you check it out.

I saw him live, one of the best performances I ever saw.
My favorite Joe Cocker song. And there's a lot of great ones from him. Awesome video.
My all time favorite Joe Cocker song. ~ T H E C O R R S ~
The studio version is perfection. I was worried this live version wouldn’t measure up. I am so glad I’m wrong. Fantastic!!
