I'm 73 and we didn't need tv or videos or phones strapped to our pocket, we had a radio that played 24/7 and entertained with quality entertainers. But this older lady loves all genre of music and I listen to it every single day. Sometimes I just have to get up and dance. So happy you are exploring my world as I explore yours.

This song reminds me of being in my dad's S10, in the fields, checking fence lines and feeding cows. It's his music. And it was ours. We didn't know any different. My dad is 71, and I know that some day, his music will make me cry. I just want more time before that happens.
The movie "The Big Chill" used this song in its soundrack. Not sure if thats the one you were thinking of, but it's the one that comes to me when i hear it. You guys are killin it. What a gift to see you enjoy your journey.
Gary Booker passed just last year. His voice got better with age. That’s rare. The choir back up harmony is incredible. The orchestra back up was very special here. That Hammond organ is priceless. We had one in our living room. My Mom and uncle played. The song was released in 1967. Timeless! RIP Gary! Thanks for the memories gentlemen.
Nothing can compare to the B3 with Wurlitzer tone cabinet. Our organist in my HS rock band (mid-late '60's) had one and carting that thing around had us wore out before we even took stage. But we were making big money, sometimes 7 of us would split 100 bucks! Go to the trailer behind the DQ and get 2 burgers (cheese .10 for both, extra) load of fries, large shake for $2 afterwards. DQ didn't serve food back then in our 'burg. Gas was 19.9 to 28.9. Ahhh yeah, great times long gone.
Growing up with music such as this was magical. It heartens me to see younger generations listening and being as affected by the amazing sounds we listened to. I'm 73 now, and I still rock on and rock hard
This confirms what I always thought: if you like music, even if you favour one particular style, you will appreciate things which are outside of your comfort zome too.
Bravo. You guys get it. Imagine for a moment all the classics you study now with historical perspective being released practically every day on the radio. We were so blessed to have this music firsthand. I am so happy when I see young people like you totally into our old classic rock. Your reactions now were our reactions then.
My mom recently gave me me all of my deceased dads old records. He had their original record album in there with this song on it. Makes me tear up when I hear that beautiful voice. Btw Percy Sledge sang “When A Man Loves A Woman”. That record was also in the collection. My dad taught me to slow dance to that song by standing on his feet and dancing. RIP Dad❤

Thank you Gary Brooker and Keith Reid for writing a simply unique piece of music. This song could be played in 100 years and it will still be timeless and totally loved and appreciated. It was released in May 1967 and within 3 weeks was number 1 and stayed there for 6 weeks. RIP Gary Brooker, you've left this world and yet your magical voice will live on forever.
This is an example of the phrase "The test of time". Not only has this song become a classic but Gary Booker nailed every note, singing it here again all of those years later. I truly enjoy watching all of you as you discover "new" artist for the first time.

🇨🇦 Time to learn boys, and appreciate ! Procol Harum was a British Rock band, (consisting of two guitarists, a Drummer, an organist and Garys piano) led by Gary Booker, who wrote this song in 1967 ! This Danish version from 2006 was at the invitation of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for one of their summer concerts ! The Orchestra has over 100 musicians and includes a Choir of 70 members ! Gary died last year R.I.P.

You may be right, it could be an error. You are also correct in your concern about picking on her. That is very kind of you. Also, there are other comments with the name Gary Booker, instead of Brooker so I guess it is a common mistake.
English band Procol Harem who closed every single disco/night club and private party with this amazing song in the 70's ... I was fortunate to grow up with this kind of music - stands the test of time. 🥰

This 51-year-old takes immense pleasure in watching your reactions and knowing that no matter our backgrounds or culture, or age, that timeless music and phenomenal performances like this Hit us all the same. Bravo young men
Yes, so does this 70 year old. We truly had some great songs during my youth.
Ron Parsons I agree with you. I am 66 and I am going crazy laughing due to these Young Men with their facial expressions and body movements, and response to songs so totally different from today's music. Isn't it wonderful when one expands his taste in music. Can you imagine life without music?
So does this 65 year old girl. You said it, “This is classic.”
I am 68 years old and still love this beautiful music. Love the show guys and your reactions were right on! Vaughn
@@terriburgess5194 you not a girl anymore....oh u can be....whatever u want!!!
Thanks to you guys , some young people are being introduced to some awesome music…. In my opinion the best music ever written
This gives me hope that the music will never die. It's great to see CF's realization and transformation throughout the entirety of this, and many other, songs. How fun would is it to be hearing something so utterly amazing for the first time?
@@MidwesternCornbilly Exactly
I've actually seen some artists say in interviews that they like and appreciate reaction channels. Its giving their music a new life. Its amazing
They need to at least listen to the sound track of the Big Chill, great tunes
It was in The Big Chill
Classic movie, classic song. So glad you guys found this!
Great song, great movie!
Correct!
Pirate radio too
Be sure and keep a notebook handy, you’ll probably find a LOT of great music from this era in The Big Chill.
BUG CHILL!!! 🎊 There is not a single musical note in This Movie you will not appreciate …
Don't let it scare you boys - this is what actual talent sounds like!!😊
Growing up with music such as this was magical. It heartens me to see younger generations listening and being as affected by the amazing sounds we listened to. I'm 73 now, and I still rock on and rock hard
Gary Brooker died a few days ago. An unbelievable voice hopefully singing in heaven. RIP!
💔
😢
This confirms what I always thought: if you like music, even if you favour one particular style, you will appreciate things which are outside of your comfort zome too.
Bravo. You guys get it. Imagine for a moment all the classics you study now with historical perspective being released practically every day on the radio. We were so blessed to have this music firsthand. I am so happy when I see young people like you totally into our old classic rock. Your reactions now were our reactions then.
One song I never tired of- Gary Booker was a gift to all of us. R.I.P. GARY
RIP Dad❤
This song was played in the movie The Big Chill. This song always gave me the chills. Such a sorrowful yet beautiful song.
That movie has a great soundtrack.
Yes that whole soundtrack is awesome!
That's my ultimate favorite movie in the world, I can sit and go along with it word for word, which is why I usually watch it alone😄😄...I lost track of how many times I've seen it 😄 and the soundtrack was awesome as well 😁👍
@@can_you_hear_me5579 Lol! Me too. Drives my husband nuts when I say the lines with the actors.
I still got the chills whenever I listen to this song. Thank you guys for upload and reaction 😊
You know a song is good when you have the same emotion over and over when hearing it for almost 50 years. They don't make em' like this anymore folks.
I'm almost 70 yrs old and this voice is the same as when I was 18. Brilliant!!
This live version of A Whiter Shade of Pale gave me goosebumps! As beautiful as the original.
Me too I just started getting choked up by this version absolutely amazing
When I hear any song from the sixties I feel so proud of my generation, there was a masterpiece every week sometimes more.
This song is timeless. Sadly Gary passed last year, but what an awesome contribution to the music world. He will always be remembered. You should check out the original video and see how young he was!
Great reaction guys!
So true I just love Procol harum my all time favourites.
This was the slow dance song when I was in jr high in the 60’s. Dang life goes so fast. Still gives me chills. Thank you for listening to “our music”
After all these years, this song still gives me chills up my spine.
Rest in peace Keith Reid….died in March at 76 years old. Same age as Gary Brooker.
Gary is phenomenal 👏 .Bach is immortal 🙏
This is an example of the phrase "The test of time". Not only has this song become a classic but Gary Booker nailed every note, singing it here again all of those years later. I truly enjoy watching all of you as you discover "new" artist for the first time.
Music has no boundaries. Love seeing you guys appreciating this music!
Gary Brooker is the lead singer in Procol Harem, R.I.P. This beautiful song is in the movie "The Big Chill." The movie has so much wonderful music. Every time I hear this this song, it makes me sad and I feel like crying because it's so touching. Google the original video.
My exhusband and I used to dance to this song when we were married. He has since passed. thank you for doing this reaction.
I can’t imagine a better song to dance to. Pretty powerful and very moving.
I got the chills watching these precious young men appreciate music that I grew up with!
That’s what you call 1960’s TALENT! Remember when the UK ruled the rock/pop world!
I'm proud of you young men for opening your minds, hearts & appreciation for ALL genre's of music...Your reaction to this song melted my heart... Thank you & God Bless....
I agree. These young men are pretty cool. Love to see their reactions ☺️
Love this song!! He sounds fantastic, just like back in the day!!
Guys, not so much talking..
Epic song❤ thank you for your reactions. Love to Watch you guys. Hugs from 🇩🇰 ( Denmark)
This song always gives me chills.
His voice gives me chills. Loved back then and now❤❤
That was recorded 40 years after the song was released. Gary Brooker kept his voice in tact! Sadly, Gary passed away in February of 2022
OMG, I love this song so much, and it brings tears to my eyes watching the younger generations enjoying it. I was born in 1967 when it was released.
This song is timeless. Thanks for playing it and reacting to it.
The most beautiful song I've ever heard
This one melts like butter. This one and Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic” touch the soul.
Into the Mystic is one I want to be played in my memory
Me too kathy😊
Saludos chavos...
I remember when PH released this song back in 1969. Booker , lead singer, sounds as great as he did back then. PH band is playing with the Danish Orchestra in Denmark . Just beautiful song is 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Just pointing out Karen this song came out in 1967. ( a true masterpiece).
@@jeffreybooth5129
Not to point out another error, but Gary's name was Brooker, not Booker.
@@dina113east That's quite probably a typing error in fairness, I don't want the lady to think we are picking on her.As a lifelong Procol harum devote who has had the honour of seeing them live 8 times I am always pleased to hear them getting the praise they undeniable deserve..I would encourage anyone to listen to their first 12 albums.
@@jeffreybooth5129 Thanks for the correction
You may be right, it could be an error. You are also correct in your concern about picking on her. That is very kind of you. Also, there are other comments with the name Gary Booker, instead of Brooker so I guess it is a common mistake.
I WAS HAPPY TO SEE YOU GUYS LIKED THIS CLASSIC.
I've been loving this song for 50 years. This is the best version! Amazing.
English band Procol Harem who closed every single disco/night club and private party with this amazing song in the 70's ... I was fortunate to grow up with this kind of music - stands the test of time. 🥰
Classic. Many people have covered this song, Willie Nelson does it justice, but this is perfection.
Annie Lennox does it well, too.
Simply blown away by his vocals after so many years!
Percy Sledge did "When A Man Loves A Woman" also soulful Thanks for playing the songs I grew up with Music lives on!!
I love you guys - you get it. You feel it. So divine and beautiful.
Thank you, gentlemen for letting the song play most of the way before commenting! That decision let the song's power come through. Gary Brooker's voice had a twinge of Ray Charles voice. Lots of heartfelt soul! I agree with you that this entire piece would make a great homage to a Guardian of the Galaxy scene.
Yes I agree! Fellas, I just love watching your reactions!
Pro-cul Har-um amazing band!!
I remember this song when I was real young. Still beautiful as ever!!
Yes me too, I was 16. Great times and great 60's music.
Not seen this video.
Am amazed ,he still has a great voice.
Great song and I’ve never heard it LIVE like this. I’m 66 in Kansas. Thanks guys, and I’m glad you fully appreciated it. You know great music when you hear it.
I was fortunate enough to see Procol Harum with Jethro Tull and Elton John in the 90’s (when you guys were being born ) - it was a beautiful night spent with three great, classic, timeless artists! Good time and a great memory! It was a delight to watch all of you experience this song 😊✌🏼❤
IF it's the FIRST time (or not) y'all have listened to this, PLEASE, definitely read the lyrics! This was a big hit in USA 🇺🇸 in 1967.
MORE than 60 years ago.
And, he still sounded the same as that first

They also sang "Conquistador" at this concert and it's great too. You'll love it.
Loved Conquistador.
One of the BEST reactions ever...totally genuine and heartfelt. The song, the voice, the Best!!
He sounds as good as he did when this song was released. This was amazing.
Everytime he starts singing this song I shed more than a few tears. He sure can sing.
I am 71 years old. I remember when Procol Harum released this song in 1967 on the Procol Harum album! It was one, and will always be, one of my favorite songs of all time. Gary Brooker had so much soul. God Rest His Soul! RIP Gary!

Dear CartierFamily - this is a treasured song - very moving, especially in the late 60's and 70's when we were all protesting the war. Look up the lyrics. our boyfriends. brothers fathers were shipped off to Viet nam to this tune. I hope you enjoyed this song - very special to many people
I love to see you young folks tune in to the music I grew up with, when people who made music were really talented!
He hasn't lost anything in his voice through the years. I love it.

I still remember the first time I heard this incredible song the summer of 1967. It’s my ringtone for texts!!❤
It's great seeing young people like you guys appreciate this. Enjoying your reaction... This is real music...
One of the best songs ever written and this arrangement is absolutely amazing 🙌🏻.
This is in Denmark (a Scandinavian country between Sweden in the North and Germany in the South).
Yes it is... Cheers from Norway, neighbour to Denmark... But on RUclips it is just as close (or just as far) for both of us :) An incredible performance and harmony. I watch this clip performance at least a couple of times each year. It's just so beautiful.
