i had an aunt and cousins that lived far away, we would do about 7 hours of greyhound bus travel to get there, with plenty of stops to board another bus. I remember one particular Greyhound terminal very fondly because they had this game in an arcade. While we waited for the bus, my mom would give me a few quarters to kill the time while the next bus arrived. This game was literally my childhood, and I loved it. They also had the avengers and the simpsons arcade. Good times.
YOOOO! This is awesome to see. I never knew anyone crafted up a solid remake of G.A. The music was always *SO* utterly brilliant, the gameplay felt "mighty", and the character graphics and animations were bloody outstanding. :) I only wish I could find a competent programmer (for PAID WORK) in order to cook up the game I'd like to see for my OWN series ("Diamond Dragons"). Either that, or I'll have to do it myself... which isn't ideal. :/

I had the 32x version up on my channel a few months ago but i took it down. I prefer the original genesis version which has an extra level. The graphical upgrades are bot really noticable. The only thing i liked about it was the animated eyes on the turtle and eagle bridge. The original Arcade is also a much better game than the 32X version. What did you think of Golden Axe One?
Wasn't there another stage? I remember after beating the Red Adder there's the real Death Adder through the doors, and he can cast spells too.. In the original, dunno 'bout this remake.
With that much screen real estate, there needs to be more enemies, or more npcs/props/animations, imo. Something to justify how much can be seen. It feels a bit empty which hurts the atmosphere
In fact its much harder. The difficulty spikes on level 5, the final level, its way harder than it should be so i doubt it was play tested much. However the fist 4 levels are extremely easy. Also if you dont have a purple dragon in death adders castle, there is no way you can finish it without losing at least one continue.
Ive no idea I had it for years in my Openbor collection and only got to play it a few months ago. Seach Golden Axe remake OpenBOR and see what comes up.

All the magic for playing Sega Genesis is still alive. This game has improved the gameplay and its soundtrack. I'm astonished for seeing this version.
It is not possible to improve something perfect, but this is good work.

Go slow enough and that red dragon will take you to the endgame
The Purple Dragon is actually the best because it can take down multiple enemies at once. The red can only take down one at a time.

Yes in the Genesis/Megadrive version there was an extra Level with a harder Death Adder.
This looks decent. Looks like extra moves have been added, fairly sure you couldn't throw or decapitate people in the original.
In the original japanese arcade you could decapitate your enemies but was censured in Europe and Usa.
Always bugged me that Blaze in SOF fought more FLEXIBLE than Tyris.

This seems way too easy with the extra moves added in. There were some situations you would have normally gotten hurt in that the new moves saved you
