  • Do your shoulders and chest come off the floor when you go into your Scorpion Stretch? Our variation of a Scorpion Stretch uses a Mobility Stick to help you truly own the movements of this stretch and provide a much truer gauge of your range of motion. The Scorpion stretch is great for posterior chain activation and anterior chain mobilization. It stretches your core muscles, hip flexors, glutes, quadriceps, and your lower back. The addition of a Mobility Stick (4-7ft) helps you maintain your anchor points when bringing your leg up by preventing your shoulder and chest from lifting off the floor during this stretch. This ensures that the movement is coming from the proper tissue lines. Make sure you’re getting the most out of your Scorpions! Give this variation a try today and see if you can feel the difference!
    -------
Stick Mobility is a training system that improves your mobility, stability, and strength.
The exercises combine joint mobilization, strength training, and deep fascial stretching to increase athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and speed recovery after exercise.
The system uses the Mobility Stick as a simple tool to improve range of motion, muscle activation, coordination, and body awareness to build a strong foundation for better movement. It provides kinesthetic and visual feedback to users and coaches. The Mobility Stick is made with a custom blend of materials designed to achieve the balance of flexibility, strength, and grip needed for the full range of Stick Mobility exercises.
The exercises are based on the scientific principles of:
    - Leverage
    - Stability
    - Feedback
    - Irradiation
    - Isometrics
    - Coordination

Would this be a useful type of stretch for the intercostal muscles ??

    • @StickMobility

      Hi Julie!
This exercise doesn't specifically target them but it does provide a slight stretch of the intercostal muscles. All the variations of our Monkey Hang and Lateral Bow and Arrow will provide an excellent stretch of the intercostal muscles.🥢👍

What about during a plank, like the scorpion plank, which is an exercise and not a stretch (correct me if I’m wrong and it’s also a stretch) what is the idea behind it ? What does it work in terms of mobility ? My running coach had me do them for better running coordination

Plank Scorpions are great for improved coordination, upper body shoulder stability and strength , rotational spine strength and mobility, and core strength. We don't currently have a video incorporating the stick into that particular exercise but that doesn't mean its not possible. 🥢👍

I feel my lower back crack when I do this stretch.
    it's normal?

    • @StickMobility
      @StickMobility  2 года назад

If the crack is a simple pop or movement of the bones, soft tissues or joints, that is not unusual. However, if there is any pain associated with the crack, the overall movement or any other drill, always yield to the pain. Avoid risking injury by listening to your body. Let us know if you have any other questions! 😀💪🥢
