The person that hides the official Bandai One Piece TCG regionals behind a paywall for days at a time is TheEgman. Of course flacko isn't going to say names but I will. I remember when a regional was over and I just got done putting my kids to bed i tried to go back to his livestream just to be told I couldnt watch it anymore and I had to buy a youtube membership in order to watch the rest of event. Never watched him again. He is no different from the pros and he features a lot of these "pros" on his channel that are still doing masterclasses and coaching till this day. Funny thing is ever since Flacko came out with his "expose masterclasses" video a couple of weeks later TheEgman announced he will no longer lock anything behind a 48 hour paywall anymore lol. Glad we have someone for the community and not here to make money off of us. Sorry for the long comment, i have been feeling some type of way ever since I got booted out of that regional stream months back ha! Cheers!
Idk how someone who used to get constantly clowned in DBS managed to get so much clout in OP that they’d do shit like that, it’s giving desperate to be a somebody
@albazology Thats the reason I am here and stuck. Great content. For the game. Not for money. Flacko is a Top D. (Because He is Monkey D. Flacko at this point.) I dont even respect Pros in MTG anymore.
all facts. a lot of these "pros" with tops just show up to tournaments all over the place way more often then other people who have better shit to do every weekend.
Flacko you are definitely the most entertaining and informative one piece content creator out there. You on that grind and it’s appreciated because of not I would’ve quit the game a long time ago
This game has no "professional players", they ain't quitting their day jobs to play One Piece lol that's why they're trying to make a buck on deck guides.
I tell people this all the time, the only “pro players” I ever heard of were Magic the Gathering players that got sponsored and paid to play and promote the game but obviously if they end up X-3 at a regional or whatever they back in the unemployment line
Bro, this is so valid. I don’t care if you win. I don’t care if you have pretty cards. If you’re a freaking ass it doesn’t matter to me. If you hide stuff behind a paywall and gatekeeping information. That’s scummy. None of your wins or pretty cardboard impresses me if your a scummy grimy human being. It’s sad too that some of the community is that way. Luffy wouldn’t be these peoples friend.
Thats why when i played promo saka in 08 and shitted on the meta decks they all got mad. Deck building and understanding your leader is more relevant then copying a deck list and making master guides and shit like that period. @Painflacko
There is absolutely NO need to pay any mf even a cent to become better at a game...just speakin for myself: since op01 I'm playing this game and I improved tremendously just watching one piece FREE content + going to locals and I'm far away of beeing a super high iq / genius level person in general. Everyone can reach quite a high level of skill just consuming free content. I view those so called scamming pro players the same as those OF 304...everyone that pays for them feeds into this ridiculous issue so spend your money in new cards or something else useful. If you reach a high level and actually watch a lot of those "super competitive" players you see that most of their plays are quite standard IF you see the cards. There are players (wont drop any names) that will post online regional matches with commentary over it as "free content" to bait you into paying to watch the others games...what can I say: they draw the nuts a lot of times ofc you gonna win as lucci against enel if you LITERALLY drop 3-4 geckos in a row like no shit sherlock I need to pay money to know that. Once you see through that bullshit and understand that after mastering a certain deck there's nothing really new to learn, just repetition. You are the king for calling this fake ass BS out like nobody else, please never change your content is goated facts not an opinion.
I respect this a lot because dudes out here tryna scam kids with their super secret ‘pro’ footage. Like at the end of the day playing with your deck will prepare you 10x more than watching some dude cheese meta for 20 games.
I appreciate that you're discussing this. I'm just happy if I can build a budget version of these OP decks. I have a budget doffy deck because I couldn't get the structure deck. 😂 Forget them pros.
Saw that SHIT about paid training and gameplay back in ‘03-I knew they were milking y’all. This isn’t the first game they’ve done this in, either. Fortnite has coaching, and plenty of other games do too. But for a game as simple as just reading the text and comboing cards? Come on, it’s simple. Put in the hours at locals, read up on all the cards, and you’ve got the sauce. Except for Doffy-that deck is wack. Everyone’s running the same decklist build off that.
Yea fam it’s just extremely boring to commentate blue doggy. We been seeing this deck for 2 whole months in mirrors lol. Normal content comes back on Tuesday or Wednesday depending of my voice sounds.
Im kinda mixed on this. While I do appreciate free content content like yours and other bc its not behind any kind of paywall, I don’t think high level players making their in depth guides immediately makes them scummy or exploitative. I think it’s awesome for OPtcg to be an avenue for income. Now this livestream paywall stuff idk much about, that does sound dumb. But paid content existing doesn’t stop free content from existing, so I don’t completely see where you’re coming from.
@painflacko I am new yea. But I was very active when League of Legends was huge and I see some parallels here. OP tcgs rise in popularity seems somewhat explosive, as the game is very fun and the prizing is very good, like LoL. Bc there was money to be made on smth fun, ppl would pay premiums for coaching from high level players. HOWEVER, there was tons of free content to learn from as well. Ppl had options and I see the same thing happened here. I hope I explained my viewpoint well.

@@daveedwards4681pokemon players make really good money with the cash prizing per regionals. However only a select few make it a day job.

Ive been playing tcg since magic beta days and ive never seen how grimmy the one piece pro players can be and how self center some people are too
They always been a nobody until the one piece card game. Couldn’t be me.

I love your content and f them pros, but I came to hear your commentary about the finals and was a little disappointed because of it.
Now that I finished the video, I'll say that after the part you talked about the pros it became fun
