As you might remember, Shunsui’s Shikai has to be in a certain mood to play games. I imagine this is how he lost to the other gunslinger Quincy, Robert who took out his eye and of course he couldn’t risk his Bankai getting stolen at the time.
That's really underselling and underestimating Robert. I'd say he very fairly got speedblitzed and chose to take the eye loss. Losing an eye is a lot better than losing an arm or leg when it comes to battle, especially when you have such an OP reality warping bankai, one eye is the best thing to tradeoff.

Ukitake mentioned it during Shunsui's fight against Starkk... and in this episode, before Shunsui does the bankai he says that he hopes everyone is far enough away already. He waited and suffered those injuries so that his allies could be far enough away first.

I saw some comments that said his bankai can change depending on how many people are close to him don't know if this is true but it's possible. His shikai has many games so his bankai having different theatre play depending on how many people are close to him is possible.
Nah the strongest Bankai you’ve guys seen is definitely Ichibei’s or even Senjumaru’s. Ichibei’s can give someone a new name after taking their own name away which is huge in the Bleach universe. Senjumaru’s shook the 3 Realms and even Yamamoto’s can destroy Soul Society.
Yeah, Shunsui's has more potential than Yamamoto's, because is altering reality, Yama's is just way more uncontained and spreads its heat through a whole realm. Ichibei's and Senjumaru's are indeed the strongest we've seen so far.
Is Yamamoto's bankai really stronger though? Sure its destructive capabilities are insane but heat and fire are still physical. It would never hurt someone like Lillie. Shunsui's bankai bends reality and can affect opponents who are phasing between dimensions. Plus it still has the wide Domain Expansion effect like Senjumaru's.
Some soul reapers are banned from using their bankai because they're a threat even to their allies. Some examples are Shinji (The visored guy), Kenpachi Kuruyashiki (This was the 7th Kenpachi. Zaraki is the 11th), and Shunsui Kyoraku.
Yup Chad fought Shunsui and got violated didnt even scratch Shunsui. Also Shunsui was about to use his bankai but Ukitake says:"Dont even think about it. Your bankai shouldnt be used in a place where others could see it." So basically his Bankai is always 1V1 so if he got allies then they would get dragged into his play as well and might possibly lose their lives as well. Also Shunsui didnt use his bankai in the first invasion of quincies because the quincies were stealing them hence they werent using the bankais. Hence shunsui lost his fight as well his eye.
12:56 the actual reason why he doesn’t use Bankai often is because just like Shinji’s Bankai, it affects everyone within radius of its activation. During the fight against Stark, too many allies were in the area so it would be risky to use as his own allies could die or end up near death because of how unpredictable the theatrical acts of his Bankai is.
Something the anime doesn't explain very well is that his bankai is basically an instant win against 99% of people BUT it's supposed to be a suicide pact. If the person he's fighting remains calm and accepts death then they both die, BUT if the person he's fighting wants to live then only they die. Shunsui is always calm, he accepted death centuries ago and thus his bankai won't ever affect him.
Shunsui's bankai catches everyone in the area, including allies. So he can't use it unless he is only up against enemies or he will kill everyone that can't get out or survive getting their head lopped off lol.

Everyone Caught in the Range of his Bankai ARE Affected by it. VS aizen, ukitake was even forshadowed it "[your bankai] can't be used in public place like this" He KNEW it would hurt everyone else in range and if aizen did ANYTHING slimey it would be when Shunsui activates his Bankai
Shunsui lost his eye against Robert(sternritter) during the first invasion in part 1. He doesn’t want to use his bankai because his allies might get caught up in it and die(that’s why he ran away from everyone else). That’s why he didn’t use it against Starrk. He did eventually beat Starrk without it.
There are 3 reasons why Shunshi did not use his bankai till now. Even while battling #1 Arrancar Stark… 1) He’s like Shikamaru and doesn’t like to fight at 100%. 2)Captain Ukataka on the original Bleach warned Shunshi not to use his Bankai where others can see it. 3) Both when using his shikai and bankai his Zanbakto makes up all the rules, and he has to follow them.
This bankai is OP. It draws everyone near into it allies or foes. So it can be used in a 1v1 scenario or it can be used with no allies around that means he can be a one man army if there is like 1000 enemies amd no allies. He can use his bankai and 1 shot 1000 people.
Remember they couldn’t use bankai until season 2 when Kisuke came with the hollowfied bankai and Shunsui didn’t fight in season 2. Also, he’s bankai affects anyone around him. So, it’s dangerous for him to use it around his allies

If the enemy a.k.a., the husband tries to change his mind and jump out of the river that just tested his resolve then the wife considers that a betrayal and splits his throat. Basically the enemy has to react a certain way to each act in order to start the next act so if the enemy doesn’t react, it’s possible that the might not be effective or if it gets to act three and the enemy doesn’t react it’s possible that they both died together.
Shinsui bankai is broken and kind of had an area of effect if I remember correctly, and is dangerous. I was watching scenes against Starrk(Espada No1) and he really wanted Shinsui to use bankai during his fight. He was about to but Ukitake said don't. Shunsui also used his child game availabilities againt Starrk.

It's hard to say Ichibeis is stronger because it requires you to set it up properly with the shikai. It's different from most other bankai Which is a flaw because it requires more time to do that, while someone like Yama could just go straight for the kill in bankai. Yamas bankai is just power on its own.

Nah the strongest Bankai you’ve guys seen is definitely Ichibei’s or even Senjumaru’s. Ichibei’s can give someone a new name after taking their own name away which is huge in the Bleach universe. Senjumaru’s shook the 3 Realms and even Yamamoto’s can destroy Soul Society.

Yeah, Shunsui's has more potential than Yamamoto's, because is altering reality, Yama's is just way more uncontained and spreads its heat through a whole realm. Ichibei's and Senjumaru's are indeed the strongest we've seen so far.
Is Yamamoto's bankai really stronger though? Sure its destructive capabilities are insane but heat and fire are still physical. It would never hurt someone like Lillie. Shunsui's bankai bends reality and can affect opponents who are phasing between dimensions. Plus it still has the wide Domain Expansion effect like Senjumaru's.

Some soul reapers are banned from using their bankai because they're a threat even to their allies. Some examples are Shinji (The visored guy), Kenpachi Kuruyashiki (This was the 7th Kenpachi. Zaraki is the 11th), and Shunsui Kyoraku.
Yup Chad fought Shunsui and got violated didnt even scratch Shunsui. Also Shunsui was about to use his bankai but Ukitake says:"Dont even think about it. Your bankai shouldnt be used in a place where others could see it." So basically his Bankai is always 1V1 so if he got allies then they would get dragged into his play as well and might possibly lose their lives as well.
Also Shunsui didnt use his bankai in the first invasion of quincies because the quincies were stealing them hence they werent using the bankais. Hence shunsui lost his fight as well his eye.

12:56 the actual reason why he doesn’t use Bankai often is because just like Shinji’s Bankai, it affects everyone within radius of its activation. During the fight against Stark, too many allies were in the area so it would be risky to use as his own allies could die or end up near death because of how unpredictable the theatrical acts of his Bankai is.
Something the anime doesn't explain very well is that his bankai is basically an instant win against 99% of people BUT it's supposed to be a suicide pact. If the person he's fighting remains calm and accepts death then they both die, BUT if the person he's fighting wants to live then only they die. Shunsui is always calm, he accepted death centuries ago and thus his bankai won't ever affect him.

Shunsui's bankai catches everyone in the area, including allies. So he can't use it unless he is only up against enemies or he will kill everyone that can't get out or survive getting their head lopped off lol.

Everyone Caught in the Range of his Bankai ARE Affected by it. VS aizen, ukitake was even forshadowed it "[your bankai] can't be used in public place like this" He KNEW it would hurt everyone else in range and if aizen did ANYTHING slimey it would be when Shunsui activates his Bankai
Shunsui lost his eye against Robert(sternritter) during the first invasion in part 1. He doesn’t want to use his bankai because his allies might get caught up in it and die(that’s why he ran away from everyone else). That’s why he didn’t use it against Starrk. He did eventually beat Starrk without it.
There are 3 reasons why Shunshi did not use his bankai till now. Even while battling #1 Arrancar Stark…
1) He’s like Shikamaru and doesn’t like to fight at 100%.
2)Captain Ukataka on the original Bleach warned Shunshi not to use his Bankai where others can see it.
3) Both when using his shikai and bankai his Zanbakto makes up all the rules, and he has to follow them.
Shunui’s Shikai makes children’s games a deadly reality, while his Bankai does the same with traditional Japanese theater.
This bankai is OP. It draws everyone near into it allies or foes. So it can be used in a 1v1 scenario or it can be used with no allies around that means he can be a one man army if there is like 1000 enemies amd no allies. He can use his bankai and 1 shot 1000 people.
Remember they couldn’t use bankai until season 2 when Kisuke came with the hollowfied bankai and Shunsui didn’t fight in season 2. Also, he’s bankai affects anyone around him. So, it’s dangerous for him to use it around his allies

If you watch the episodes, you'll understand, but it's overwhelmingly true. It was the number one anime this year in terms of illustrations, story, animation, OST, and direction. The third season is always crazy. The reason why BLEACH is called the peak anime is packed into this story.

I’m pretty sure his bonkai is supposed to be the story of a woman who was beat by her husband. That’s why it starts with them, sharing the wounds, but neither can die from them because the wife didn’t die from the wounds. Act two only starts if the person who wounded you feels regret. In this case it’s regret for his own wounds, but in the story. The husband feels bad, so he shares the wounds emotionally, and then his regret causes him to get sick. Even though the illness is killing him. The wife true to her devotion believes that they should die together and the husband agrees so they throw themselves in the river with that attacked three. If the enemy a.k.a., the husband tries to change his mind and jump out of the river that just tested his resolve then the wife considers that a betrayal and splits his throat. Basically the enemy has to react a certain way to each act in order to start the next act so if the enemy doesn’t react, it’s possible that the might not be effective or if it gets to act three and the enemy doesn’t react it’s possible that they both died together.

Shinsui bankai is broken and kind of had an area of effect if I remember correctly, and is dangerous. I was watching scenes against Starrk(Espada No1) and he really wanted Shinsui to use bankai during his fight. He was about to but Ukitake said don't. Shunsui also used his child game availabilities againt Starrk.

Act 1: husband (lillie) and his wife (shunsui) are fighting. Husband hits wife out of anger but immediately regrets it. He feels so bad that he can almost feel the strikes himself as if he hit himself.
Act 2: the husband feels \SO bad about what happened that he gets full depressed and physically ill.
Act 3: husband throws himself into the river to commit suicide for what he has done and his loving wife jumps in to so she may die with her love. Husband changes mind last second and tries to escape.
Act 4: seeing her cowardly husband, the wife kills the husband by slitting his throat and then drowns.
