Every Wednesday, Kevin & Christa record a live video called "Hump Day Happy Hour" at 8 pm, where we take you virtual shopping around LCRC Raceway & Hobby Shop, as well as share tech tips. During this HDHR, Kevin walked you through how he preps his Custom Works Outlaw 4 Sprint Car Tires for Oval Racing in Central Pennsylvania. If your an old time oval guy, we already know you probably have your own tricks to the trade, so why not comment below and tell us why our way is wrong? :)

I’m looking into 1/10 2wd electric late model and am curious what kit to start with and what conversion kit for it. I know associated has a newer oval car as well.

Hi, thank you for the great video. Regarding the foam buster, what speed do you run the drill press at? I find that i have considerable dust gear from the foam at about 10 minutes. Is this normal and should I continue busting if I am getting foam dust? Many thanks.

Good question David. I usually run at 500-800 rpm on the speed. If you’re getting foam dust in 10 min you are either too fast on the speed or too much pressure in the roller wheels. You may want to check your adjustment on how tight they pinch the tire.

Great video! One question, are you preping to run high bite or loose dirt oval?

    One year later question:
How many heats will your tire prep be effective? (You switch out tires every heat?)
    Appreciate the video, btw!
