Eastern dirt modified is closer to a sprint car; full tube chassis, straight axle front end, centered driver, wide tires, aluminum wheels, quick change rear end, BIG cubic inch all aluminum engine.

Dude adjustable toe, caster and camber has me sold on this alone not to mention the sealed differential I would definitely experiment with with different viscosity oils ECT
I do hope they'll do a 4WD version as well for people who race in the open world. But for organized spec racing this 2WD is fantastic! 2WD is great for racing because you really have to drive, you can't just powerslide out of trouble on a turn as easily, and I respect that.

We run on a concrete oval at the Indiana State Fairgrounds (it's a quarter midget track). We'll probably have a Mud Boss stock class next year. I want to buy one in July and try it out right away.
Correct, but still requires you to remove the transmission to put the pin in from the other side making future maintenance or repairs more labor intensive. The point was, they fixed everything else on the car. It would have been nice if they fixed the pin issue that has occurred “since the 1st gen Stampede.”

As a retired dirt track racer - pure stock then modified - I absolutely love this and probably will end up with one just to tear up around baseball diamonds with the kid. However I wish the liveries weren't so... Traxxas. I hope to see an unpainted body that I paint and decal to make it look like my old Rocket chassis car.
Very cool they put something out for the class. To be honest, I'm not a fan or NASCAR, so driving in an oval sounds as exciting as watching it. Great review as always!
My LHS is planning on adding an oval track near their main track and I’m almost certain these things are gonna be driven there a lot. I love going to true modified races and it would be awesome to race it in RC. Don’t quite have the budget for a new RC right now sadly
Bringing different platforms to the hobby (eventhoug it's based on a Slash) is always positive! I'd like if Traxxas gave their bodies really different paint schemes. They all look the same. :p
Only the advantage this would have would be the LCG chassis. That dirt mod body is going to be heavy with the plastic inner structure. And in my experience short course trucks are never a great choice for “speed runs” after 45mph they’re really prone to blowing over backwards.
Who?? I've not heard a single person ask for this. I know for positive it's not for me. Granted I don't know everyone in the world but I do have a large RC circle. I've not even heard a mention on RUclips or the forums.

Before anybody mentions price, I have a Bandit that I built to run there from nothing but a pile of mostly RPM parts and know I spent more than $380 on that and this is pretty comparable to my Bandit.

Few years behind would of been nice to of had this option in 2012 to 2014 when I raced dirt oval rc I started with a slash and quickly traded it for a used sc10 because of the high center of gravity the slash had fast truck but rolled to easy this out of the box without much work would of been competitive for a fraction of what it cost to build one from scratch

As someone who has raced real A mods it looks like a pretty much perfect scale replica of an A Modified car except for being symmetrical verse asymmetrical hence why my car is called an a modified most of my car sits dangling off the left hand side of the frame it's asymmetrical that's why they call them a modifieds
Unless u have a dirt oval near and maybe some kids that are getting into the hobby I see running a few packs and it being sold online really hoping for a 4wd bandit or a 1/16 sledge or maybe a Traxxas 1/24 crawler
Sure I could be negative and talk about how it's Traxxas and it's overpriced but to be honest with you it's not a bad move if you want to get into oval racing and you want a decent RC it's probably going to cost around this price so I'd have to say it's a smart move for them and it looks like it's a lot of fun I guess the the biggest issue you're going to have is convincing a bunch of your buddies to get some more rigs or to pay $400 for a bunch of these you know I don't know if it's going to be that popular and that's going to be the the biggest restriction

Yup, I was just at RC Madness, they plan to run the class on paved oval days. Few set-up tweaks and it will be a blast.

I like it. They run dirt ovals 45 mins from my house. This is a great stock class RC. Price 🤷🏼 is relative to say.
