Andrew, the doors look wonderful!! I hope you're so happy with the final product. Your attention to detail, and the precision with which you execute absolutely everything will forever inspire me. And of COURSE you were down to the wire with the timing of leaving for Chicago. 😂 But just think: when you're back home, these doors will be waiting for you! Thank you for sharing with us!
Love that the wardrobe door pick up to tones of the paint and the rugs looks very cohesive, smart and cosy. Ps I think I’ve talked my husband into painting the ceiling and above the picture rail in a colour. Just have to choose the colour. PPS we made large frames and used the same type of blinds and made privacy screens for outside. We also made one to conceal the ugly gas meter.
Wow! It looks like one of a kind! Even though you probably spent more in your time/labor I think the end result was amazing. Truly unique and looks so custom.
Andrew. You always do you. LOVE it!! Funny story, I was painting a panel for my wall, you call it color saturation, very old term, and it beautiful. Anyway, I left the panel on the floor to dry. We ended up with kitty paw prints. We left them and absolutely love them. Be you!!
Your creativity and materials utilization are beyond amazing, Andrew. Color drenching is a thing; however, it is when you use the same color, full-on, on ceilings, walls, and baseboards. You can find some great examples of color drenching by looking at inspo from Architectural Digest or searching for interior designers mentioning this on YT. Again, what an outstanding job on your wardrobe. Kudos to you and your parents, on this labor of love. ✌️💙
Andrew, Fabulous! The work that you, Mom and Dad do, under Queenie's Supervision, is wonderful. You are fortunate to have such a lovely family. Thanks for sharing! Be well - Don
Wow! Yes, there's only $100.00 difference between the Ikea doors and your DIY doors, but there is a vast difference in the look and value you've added. They are one of a kind, stunning, good work!
Your patience and determination paid huge dividends! The texture integrates so well with the rest of the room and look like high-end custom wardrobes. Grand slam in my book!
The doors look great Andrew! Your house is turning out fantastically. I enjoyed the plentiful Queenie sightings, I saw more of her adorable personality in this video, I could tell she loves having all of you there with her.
Love the doors. I would have given the closet a matching darker color so that the doors look less like they are floating in the room. Also great benefit of these custom doors - you could extend them to the ceiling if you so choose to do.
You have the most innovative, fabulous ideas I've ever seen on RUclips! I have been so inspired by you. Your parents are awesome for helping out so well ❣
they look great!! ( I bet people would commission you to costume build these for them ) I am crazy for maybe wanting the toe kick to be black ?? (maybe just do it in Photoshop and see if's nice ) Love from Lisbon
Hey Maria! Absolutely agree about the black… my mom really wanted that and I agree it would look better from the front. But I thought it might look strange from the side with the sides painted to match the wall. But I’m still thinking on it!
These elegant and unique doors elevate the wardrobe and the room far more anything you could have found readymade. Absolutely worth the effort, IMHO. I'd love to see some footage of you dancing in Chicago! Soak up the applause and enjoy the Windy City!
Color drenching usually refers to the top molding, The wall, and the bottom molding all being the same color. Most designers also say to not neglect the ceiling as it's the fifth wall in the room. Usually painting it a much lighter color in the same family as the wall color, Wallpaper that picks up the wall color. There are many things to do to a ceiling like a tray ceiling, coffered, Or wood paneled ceiling with beems. You and Your whole family have such wonderful talents, Bravo!
Super result! I do love the patterned blinds a lot. Personally I wouldn't have the patience and skill to do this DIY myself (maybe I need some of that Magic Mind potion!) but all of you working together made this well worthwhile. I enjoy seeing Queenie so well loved! Bravo to all.
That is an amazing, custom look that I think would cost you several thousand dollars to get done by a pro cabinet shop. What a transformation. Big props to your Mom and Dad for being your crew and helping with this precise, tedious (I'm sure) process from beginning to end!
Oh my goodness hells yea those doors were worth it!! They are beautiful!! And very classy!! They are perfect for the space! And everything that you do turns out so good that I had full faith in you 😊
Great job! I think they turned out really nice, but wonder if they would look a bit more cohesive and high-end if you painted the bottom kick plate and side black to match the edge banding. Just a thought. In any case, I love your content because it's so much more relatable than the fancy, ultra-expensive home design videos flooding my RUclips feed. Most people have much more modest budgets and I love how you always find economical and creative ways to fill your home with style and a unique design flair.
Totally agree! I would’ve gone black on the baseboard if not for the cream sides on the wardrobe… should I paint that black too? That was the plan originally but I just thought it might feel heavy and draw the eye on the side. Let me know what you think!
that's exactly what i thought- the baseboard would look more seemless & blend in if painted black. i know the the side then would have to be black too - maybe that's too much of a black sink hole to have in the room? but it's a side wall, so i think it wouldn't be so monolithic. but whatever you do - the doors are beautiful - you have so much patience and skills and taste. it's usually only one...
perhaps it's b/c the whole wardrobe is white that the black edge banding stands out almost like it's floating...? so maybe all black would blend it all together. but i know that's a big commitment so idk...i'm not helping haha
@@REISSUED I see why you went the way you did, but after seeing the finished wardrobe I truly think painting the sides/bottom black would help it recede into the corner more and not stick out. Either way - great job!
Those turned out nicely. Worth the effort to get what you wanted. So nice to see Queenie and your folks. And I got a good chuckle at the name of the paint colour for the bedroom . . . I guess a Golden Girls bingeathon is in the works for me.
Color drenching is a real thing. It is painting everything the same color, i.e. the walls, molding, ceiling, to give the room an illusion of height. Its not about being monochromatic so much. Many designers use different hues of the same color, a flat, with a semi-gloss, as well as satins finishes as well, on the various services that are painted. Doors look great.
Perfect. What an inspiring project. Actually, all your projects are inspiring and turn out to be aesthetically pleasing. You'll have your own line of products in no-time Andrew. Keep up the great work! We're here for it.
Thanks! We are definitely in the final stages on the bedroom! Once the doorway to the bathroom is complete, I’m thinking just a few more decorative touches will finish it up!
Definitely! I had originally intended to do more horizontal banding lines on the doors to give a Shogi screen vibe - but I think that might have been overkill with the wood screen and the window shade in the room. But it definitely still carries that influence - which I love!
The doors are amazing! And I think you’re savings is still great even if like you said it’s not mind blowing! I also just want to say I love that your parents are always helping you and working together with you on these projects. You guys must have a great relationship and that’s really really wonderful! Your house is just awesome and so is your channel!! Oh, and I also love your little doggy lol I wouldn’t be sad if she/he made it into the videos a bit more often. lol 😉 Ps, what kind of dance do you do? Just curious is there any place on social media that we can see you dancing/performance!?
Looks GREAT ! Maybe paint the baseboard under the door black ? Question : couldn't you have used wood filler or bonds to seal the door edges and sanded and painted them vs the banding ? Also, would spray adhesive worked just as well as the wallpaper glue ? Just thoughts as I was watching. Now, hurry home and get back to giving us more content......we are greedy now.
As usual your projects turn out beautiful, you guys are a great team with Queenie as the leader! 😊

Andrew, WOW, these doors are stunning. I love the contrast of old and new in your home. Need I say you have the best family?
Thank you so much! And yes, my parents are amazing ❤️
YES, please! Your DIYs are FANTASTIC!!❤❤
Fabulous. As always! You and your folks have so much patience!
I love them. I can't say enough times how impressed I am with your parent's willingness to help. It's so nice to see.
They are so amazing! And I’m glad you like the doors 😊
They look amazing--very custom looking.
Just ties it all together! WOW love it!

Great job, Andrew! I LOVE the final look of the wardrobe. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about getting a PAX unit and you're giving me ideas. ❤
Bro your design eye is sooo good. I love that your parents are always giving you a helping hand. Queenie also made a cameo

Hey, I’m a long time follower and enjoy these posts. We have tickets for your show at the Lyric in March. Looking forward to it!
Amazing! We just got onstage today and the show is going to be MASSIVE 😍
You have the most innovative, fabulous ideas I've ever seen on RUclips! I have been so inspired by you. Your parents are awesome for helping out so well
❣
Aw thanks so much Debra! I’m so glad you’re feeling inspired ❤️
Very nice! Love the way these turned out. I used edge banding once and bought a tool called the Bandit to cut off the excess. It worked really well.
they look great!! ( I bet people would commission you to costume build these for them )
I am crazy for maybe wanting the toe kick to be black ?? (maybe just do it in Photoshop and see if's nice )
Love from Lisbon

I love how your dad helped , it’s the simplicity in life when you love your family you do things together.
These elegant and unique doors elevate the wardrobe and the room far more anything you could have found readymade. Absolutely worth the effort, IMHO. I'd love to see some footage of you dancing in Chicago! Soak up the applause and enjoy the Windy City!

Love the finished doors. Yay for diy! Great outcome, enjoyable watch as always. D🇦🇺
Gorgeous
Wow guys 🎉one of a kind ❤❤❤
Even if the costs were to come out to the same, the DIY and customization ARE ALWAYS worth it. Looks great!
This is really great!!!
Incredible solution to an old home. They look fantastic. Shoutout to your parents too.

This is one of my favorite of your home projects. Nicely done.
I love them! I am so impressed that you can make your visions come to life, way to go Andrew & Mom and dad!
Lot of work! They look beautiful! Have fun in Chicago.
Great pay off for the hard work, because the doors look amazing so custom!

Yeah mom is Queenie’s favorite ❤️

i had imaged they would be all black too. idk why.

Right, maybe not the biggest savings, but they are way cooler than what you would have paid $300 for. They look great and fit perfectly in your space.
Good job, they look great!

Got it! Thanks for the description!
Looks amazing! Has a very "Casablanca" feel with the colors and texture. Can I borrow your parents? Just for a few days? I promise I'll return them.
I loved the sweet little portrait of your mom and your dog, such a loving vignette
Love the doors. Worth the time and energy.
*Chef’s kiss* Definitely worth it. They are custom perfection.
Perfect. What an inspiring project. Actually, all your projects are inspiring and turn out to be aesthetically pleasing. You'll have your own line of products in no-time Andrew. Keep up the great work! We're here for it.

Very nice - should go to the ceiling
Wow amazing, just beautiful.
I think your bedroom and your guest bathroom are my favourite….. and the small powder room😊
They look fabulous! Well worth the time and effort y'all put in.
Love these! Great use of a mix of thrifted and new materials!
Nicely done! DIY totally worth it for putting your unique stamp on everyday objects. Love how your vision for the bedroom is coming together.😻
Thanks! We are definitely in the final stages on the bedroom! Once the doorway to the bathroom is complete, I’m thinking just a few more decorative touches will finish it up!
So worth it. Love them and seeing your process.
Colour drenching definitely a thing! Super trendy right now.
The doors Look amazing! Gives me Japandi vibes! Well done! Luv them! ❤
Definitely! I had originally intended to do more horizontal banding lines on the doors to give a Shogi screen vibe - but I think that might have been overkill with the wood screen and the window shade in the room. But it definitely still carries that influence - which I love!
Those came out great! Love it!
Your doors look great, you come up with the best ideas!
Thanks Millie!
The wardrobe was beautiful and gave a touch of class to the whole room. congratulations I like it
Looks fantastic. Is there a hint of an optical illusion of dimension in the pattern, or is it me?
The doors are amazing! And I think you’re savings is still great even if like you said it’s not mind blowing! I also just want to say I love that your parents are always helping you and working together with you on these projects. You guys must have a great relationship and that’s really really wonderful! Wow!! They look stunning 🤩
Love the doors. So elegant.
Looks GREAT !
Maybe paint the baseboard under the door black ?
Question : couldn't you have used wood filler or bonds to seal the door edges and sanded and painted them vs the banding ?

Just thoughts as I was watching.
Now, hurry home and get back to giving us more content......we are greedy now.
Love the results! The subtle graphic almost 3d pattern of the Bantistel panels really compliments your aesthetic.
Thanks! I agree!
Gorgeous! I wonder if we could do something similar but with the plain PAX doors as a base. Would the wallpaper glue and banding adhere as well?
Very nice!
So cool, they look good.
Thanks so much!
Love!
Looks beautiful 🤩 and I love that it was a whole family job, that was so sweet
Awesome!
The closets look amazing! Great job…Andrew, Mom & Dad!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Look wonderful. You put a lot of thought into the project
