Thanks for posting this! As much as I think female city elf is the way to go for this origin and probably how it was meant to be, it is good to see this side of it!
It's no problem at all! And I totally agree! I used to always play as a female elf and for some reason never even realized that the male elf cut scenes were different until I finally decided to play it one day. It was pretty cool that you get to see the groom's point of view/ the rescue attempt.
Was Elva, the woman who objects to you attacking the castle and rescuing your betrothed, the same woman who went nutty after the orphanage burned down? Because that would make her words prophetic and an interesting tie-in with the standard game.
I mean... it's an 'arranged' marriage, and I'm sure there have been arranged marriages in real life where one or more of the participants weren't straight. You could always think of it as that.
The purpose of the arranged marriages between city elves seems to be less about affection or creating partnerships for life and more to ensure that the elves don't die out and that there is no inbreeding within the alienages (the PC's father mentions something like that at least). Arranging same-sex marriages wouldn't make much sense in that context. I did actually play a queer character with the City Elf Origin and just went about it by picking friendly but not "affectionate" lines. You can play your character pretty much any way you want in DA:O, even if some options aren't freely available.

This was the first origin I ever played. It holds a special place in my heart and is my favorite origin
