- Legitimately the single most frustrating fight in this entire game. V2 in 1-4 was already annoying enough, why'd they have to give him coins??? HAKITA WHYYYY. Won't stop me, though.

V2 is definetely the most frustrating boss in the entire game at this point, although i didn't have much trouble with him. ultrakill does a great job at reducing the frustration of bosses like gabriel and V2 by letting you immediately restart without obnoxious load times or cutscenes.
Oh, absolutely! It'd be alot more frustrating if you had to wait like 10 whole seconds for a loading screen and then have to make your way to the boss. And even when doing P-rank, you get to learn speed tech for the earlier parts of the level, which is really fun!
it was super easy for me, i had to restart becouse of how fucking laggy that fight is, but it was super mega easy, now, what was way harder was getting a P rank, thaat was the problem, my start was to get a B rank in style before reaching the end of the pyramid, then getting the A and S with the common enemies
Minos Prime tho
@@Sociopastor minos prime is way less frustrating since you have to p-rank everything to get to him, and it’s a real fair challenge

This V2 is honestly one of my favorite video game bosses ever. Parrying his and your own shotgun pellets, trading revolver shots, racing to shoot the coins in the air, all while both of you are moving at a breakneck speed has got to be among the best experiences in a video game. The feeling of dueling with an equal and eventually coming out as a victor through skill alone is nothing short of spectacular. I keep instantly reloading the checkpoint once I beat his first phase to experience the thrill all over again. You're gonna be dearly missed, V2.
Can't wait to fight him on Brutal and UKMD. That will probably be the closest we get to multiplayer in ULTRAKILL.
ACTUALLY
I don't think we will be missing V2 for now
in the arms selection there is a arm that says "UNDER CONSTRUCTION"
Maybe V2 lived the impact and made a new arm (and hopefully this time, uses it in the bossfight)

Both stated by Hakita
I fucking love the "You're not getting away" phase it's so good it sticks in my brain like glue
i killed him first try, a hard battle. what really fucked me up was when i realized that battle was gonna be the last
you. alone, versus all the wickedness hell can contain. you are now alone.
mankind is dead.
blood is fuel.
hell is full.
all versus only you.
What if V3
y’know i’m a bit more prideful of my 28 restarts on my first ever encounter of the rematch. made the last fight with the guy more worth it’s value to me
Well there’s a secret area if you P rank everything. Start working
I wouldn't bet too hard on that. Hakita knows how to make shit kickass and this does not feel like a conclusion, it feels like the middle of a side arc.
We still have another arm slot in the machine.
Honestly, this fight is probably the coolest as of now. It starts with V2 sitting on a throne, and ends with a slide down the pyramid.
is starts with V2 sitting on a throne, and then him fucking dying trying to escape
And then came benjamin....
@@randomcookie2706bro got both of his arms stolen off him 💀
There is a sick yet hilarious sense of irony I feel when the entire reason why V2 fought V1 again was for both revenge and to get his arm back, only for me to use that very arm as the final KO punch that sent him hurling to the ground at Mach 10.
Imagine V2'S fight but V2 is using every gun and exploiting game's mechanics just like player does.
Ultrakill must die will be like:
Imagine
V2 using projectile boosts
V2 with a rail cannon
V2 performing an ultraricoshot
Hopefully that's possible with ULTRAKILL MUST DIE difficulty
imagine V2 healing as it damages you
@@benbot0733 You enter the room and he's punching the wall for some reason.
You get close enough to trigger the cutscene and get a split second to hear the sound his coins make seconds before the deadcoin he's prepared by parrying it against the wall for 2 hours rockets towards you and deletes your health bar
His coin is fairly easy to evade once you get the hang of it since there's red indication. If you are confident on your aim, you hit his coin before he hits it which give you free damage or free coin but trade off is that he might be enraged after that. Personally, V2 4-4 is my most favorable boss fight since V2 offers different interaction with the players.
I think my favorite boss will always be Minos Prime, at least until the next Prime Soul (which I am almost 100% sure it's going to be Sisyphus. It's just too perfect of a setup to not be him.)
when v2 gets enraged on 4-4 he wont hit your coins you can also enrage him if you punch v2 with the knuckleblaster
i actually think this level was really fun, surprised you find it most frustrating fight in the entire game, even over p-1, but to each their own. whats really a shame though is that the instakill was patched, that was pretty fun. anyway, good video :)
@Frax it's frustrating because it demands something from the player that no other enemy in the game has required: good aim. also, as i've gotten closer to p ranking 4-4, i've found that even as you get better at fighting him the fight isn't that fun compared to other bosses in the game. the boss that has the same abilities as the player trope usually serves to shake things up in a game, but also unfortunately does not work out very well in terms of gameplay. dusk has a good example of this, as just circle strafing and holding down the mouse button to kill a boss isn't very fun. it says a lot when the most interesting attacks in the v2 fight are changed from what the player is actually capable of doing. i really like v2 as a character and how he is presented in game, and certainly wouldn't want him removed or changed, but i just have to accept that the trade off is that the actually gameplay his fights bring aren't the best the game has to offer.
@@flynntaggart8549 I mean, I found the fights the highlight of the game, specifically because of how fast and powerful he is, and how mobile you have to be to dodge split-second attacks.
Also, what do you mean by "most interesting attacks are changed from what the player is actually capable of doing"? The nailgun, shotgun's grenades and coinflip revolver are all attacks at your disposal?
@@hyperx72 his coin attack is changed from yours. the attacks you listed are pretty boring attacks, as all you have to do is press shift and strafe when you see him telegraph it with a flash, and they all have basically the same timing. pretty boring imo.
@@flynntaggart8549
Oh, sorry for thinking that paying attention to brief cues, dodging literally at the last second, and attacking something that's hard to hit because of his speed. I'll go back to actually exciting enemies like the one who stands still with a telegraphed slow moving projectile attack...
@@hyperx72 you're more than welcome to have your own opinion.
I think it would’ve been cool if both V1 and V2 teamed up together and be able to play a co-op one as V1 and the other as V2
Sadly Hakita has said numerous times that he doesn't want ULTRAKILL to be multiplayer in any way... So maybe modders will come up with something instead, who knows.
@@genkitheproto4681 That sucks, it would have been cool tho
Well it'd be very unfair since one player would have no source of healing as V2 was built to be more durable but doesn't have the same blood-absorption plating V1 has, so one player would have no healing.
@@UltimaDoombotMK1 true
@@genkitheproto4681 sad. Deathmatch Ultrakill would've done what Quake champions failed to do
It’s been three days so you probably know this already, but he actively tries to counter coins you don’t time properly, which you can counter right back. He doesn’t usually attack you directly in doing so, meaning you can weapon heckle him to death… or walk up to him and punch him with his own old arm in the meantime. He’s definitely the hardest boss in the game to fight “fairly”, since his movement is unusual at best, but this second encounter is ironically easier than the first one once you know this.
You can parry the red shots after he hits a coin? Interesting... I didn't know this, I just kinda restarted each time I missed.
Bro I managed to use the tiny room to blow V2 up by overpumping. Now the room is too big for me to reliably overpump him to death.
yeah i found the second alot easier than the first even though i p ranked both first try. well p ranked both when i was trying to p rank to get minos im aware greed doesnt unlock minos but i wanted to perfect it anyways.
@@darkcrow3350 Same dude same, I P-Ranked all the main bosses just because I wanted to, then I tore my hair out at P-Ranking all the levels in Act 1
Love this fight. to the badass, high speed duel, and when v1 says "Youre not getting away this time." Felt like a proper end to a (admittedly brief) rivalry
What's cool about the dynamic is that the boss will get pissed if you start acting like you're hot shit.
*parrying his coins, shots, hitting him with his own arm*
Just like you'd get enraged with he's being cocky himself or disrespecting you by shooting your coins
V-2 is just sitting there like "Took you long enough. Lets get this over with."
Out of every character who has ever done that signature throne sit, who would’ve guessed that a pissed off robot in the depths of hell would pull it off the best
There is another way, that might be faster and easier. This boy is quick, but does not hit too hard.
I got him with the drill rail and mowed down at point blank range with whatever hits hard, especially the burst nailgun and shotgun switch.
Got him down on the second shot of the rail long before it recharged.
I'm very bad at tracking him when he just starts going in circles around you (pretty sure he does it in the video), but hey, everyone has their own way of doing things!
This isn't going to be enough to P-Rank though afaik. You'd lose multiplier on facetanking, and the nailgun doesn't give a lot of points. It's actually how I beat him the first time and I think my score was a B *at best*
The real way to p rank v2 easily are chainsaws
Dude when I first played this and jumped through the window after V2 I was blown away..
So fucking sick fighting your supposed upgrade while sliding down the side of a pyramid.
i like how when v2 got defeated he instead gets yeeted until 3 Seconds later he exploded to a quadrillion pieces
made me laugh for like 4 mins
Tips for casuals (like me) who struggle through this boss:
Shotgun: parry
Nailgun: slide sideways
Coin: throw your own coin and shoot it
Everything else: try to dodge as best as you can
(That's how i beat it at least)
“You’re not getting away this time” is such a cold fucking line bro
Read this as pranking v2 and by using their coins against them i think you did a good job at that
This fight kicked my ass so much I had to put something else in the background while I was playing, but then when I actually got phase one down I missed the cool momment of V1 saying "You're not getting away this time" :[
i still think V2 is gonna come back at least one more time. Greed established a pattern with when it shows up, so I'm guessing itll be back in 7-4 with some weird new form after the rest of Act 2 or early Act 3 establishes more concepts that would allow it to be possible. (Just spitballing, what if the machines developed their own souls and V2 comes back as a husk, mechanized to full function by whoever's been making all the demon cyborgs.)
also it would complete the rule of three's that Ultrakill has going on. Three acts, three layers of hell per act, three prime souls. Why not three encounters with V2?
EDIT: With the Saw your Heart update, there's another potential rule of three, and it pairs perfectly with V2. Every time V2 appears, the level has an Alternate gun mod for you. 1-4 has the Alt Revolver, 4-4 has the Alt Nail Gun, and 7-4 may _presumably_ have the Alt Shotgun? Three Acts, Three Prime Souls, Three Alt mods, Three V2 encounters. Makes sense to me lol
Though this theory may be made moot if you believe we'll be getting an alt shotgun AND an Alt Rail Cannon. Which feels a lil excessive to me, but this is also the game where you can punch your own shotgun shells to explode them lmfao.
Plus that's all under the assumption the game will stop at 3 Acts. Which, would make sense to me, it's running through Dantes Inferno's interpretation of hell. 9 rings of hell, which again, Match Ultrakill's 3 layers of hell per Act.
Who knows though, maybe we'll get an extra 3 acts where we invade heaven lmao
the dream is dead, and so is V2. permanently. :'(
Three is also known as a holy number so it has that going for it
Hakita said it won't happen sadly
V1 you killed V2 :(
I can see why my friend say V2 is the hardest boss in ULTRAKILL. Like. What the actual HECK is going on here?
God im so glad to see that the experience of "Dont look at the 4-4 god rays unless you want to drop to 5fps" is, at the very least, not just a me issue.
I was grateful for the style padding those enemies at the end of the level give. Seems like cheating for the perfect fight, but ill take it lmao
I never found V2 that frustrating. I can understand how people do considering you can die in like 2 seconds to him, but at this point in the game you should have good enough aim/tactics to cancel out his quick dodges/coins
You can even use his own coins against him! And to make it easier, just throw your one and shoot it with railgun, while V2 performs coin attack.
Nice run! I somehow managed to get an S in style while in the first phase of v2.
"You die whats then the first thing the game does? Laughs at you"

This fight was really fun for me. 1st fight taught me how to Parry but gave me the Knuckleduster, which I didn't realize couldn't Parry so I ended up just never going for parries, however going into this fight I wasn't going for parries anymore, instead just running straight for him punching him with the knuckleduster and using the Shotgun, roaming around into cover to Dodge the coin shenanigans.
Was not the most technically skilled strat but worked for my first time beating him and was a lot of fun trying to out maneuver him getting and getting heals off of it.
super frustrating but really fun fight. once you learn the strategy and move patterns then it's not that bad
"You're not getting away this time."
ahh
this makes me want to download ultrakill since v2 is hella cool
Okay, so my first impression of this boss fight was that it was super easy... I still don't know what V2's patterns are, because I got through without needing to. Granted, I'm not very efficient and I've had my fair share of restarts. But frustrating? I barely remember this level because I breezed through it lmao. Then again, I spent like an hour or two on the first V2 encounter...
certainly on the higher difficulties you're going to have to learn his mechanics really well. violent is hard but you can still get thru this fight with pure aim and decent movement, dont really have to parry anything
@@nothonest604 Agreed. I'm pretty sure the higher difficulties will vaporize me since I suck at parrying.
"you're not getting away this time" goes undeniable hard
glad to see I'm not the only one who lags like hell from those light shafts lol
I wonder, why does V2 even descend into hell? Or, for that matter, V1. In V2 log, it says that V1 was developed for war purposes, but by the time it was going to go into mass production, it became unneeded, so V2 was developed, a less war-and-kill version.
They both still run on blood. The difference is that V1's model has thinner plating to absorb blood through contact, while V2 needs to siphon the blood due to its thicker armor, hence why V1 is much more prepared to fight demons and triumphs over V2.
@@genkitheproto4681 I never said that V2 doesn't run on blood. But as to why they are in hell, to probably fuel themself. V2 log says that maybe they are the only ones of their models, so if the robo-goverment or whatever finds them, they will probably try to capture them. And because hell is full, nobody will notice a couple of demons dead, right?
@@runiqe isnt humanity extinct because of v1? he runs on blood so he probably went to hell to kashoot the place up for blood
@@runiqe V2 was made after the war ended, however at the same time travel to hell was discovered, so V2 was used as a sort of "scout" to explore hell (My theory), tougher plates but less gain from active combat is what V2 has over V1, even tho both of them are prototypes V2 is significantly inferior to V1 in actual combat because of their sustainability during it.
