Spinel is honestly one of the most heartbreaking characters I've ever known, her loyalty was just indestructible. If I ever had someone like that, I'd make sure that'd give them the same loyalty.
Being someone who has been loyal to someone (multiple people actually) who chose not to return the favour, I am glad that there are other people who wouldn't do the same.

Its 2:AM and I just thought of this. It's so sad that spinel was only made for pure entertainment. She was neglected and left in the garden. And when she cracked then got rebooted she still got treated like crap. Because everyone was mad at her because she would make a joke out of everything. But that was what she was made for just for people to laugh and smile. And the fact that even when she was herself and did what she was told she still got badly treated hurt because it means that no matter is she does what shes made for or not no one will love her. And that hurt me so much how she wasn't accepted. Thank god that at least the diamonds accepted her and may restore the love that she wasn't given before

They both remember different things about eachother, Spinel thinking of Steven as Pink and Steven just trying to save his planet, yet again. He didn't have any attachment to her and he was just stressed, that's why he acted that way. Then there's the other side of the coin, Spinel. Her attachment issues are acting up seeing her new "best friend" treat her like this. They grew to understand eachother more but some things were just left unspoken, at least as far as we know.
After getting pearl back, he started to realize that, that separation, was her greatest fear, she was broke, and never fixed, helped but never fixed, and he started giving attention and help, she was truly the focus of the movie
Steven went through so much throughout his whole life because of his mother. He shouldn’t have to pick up her mess. Spinel was a play thing to his mother that she didn’t care about and he actually DID want the best for her. Just because he was more focused on saving his friends and family doesn’t mean anything.

Am I the only one who thinks that Spinel NEVER lost her memories? She got attached to Steven, even If she got a factory reset. She gave hints on how to fix the other gems and she was the only one that remembered everything from the factory reset, while the others were really confused and didn't remember anything. Every time that Steven was "leaving" her, she snapped, but she didn't get her memories back, and when she remembered about the garden, she didn't turn back instantly, but only when she finished telling everything to Steven.
This show has showed people what some people go through. Like mental issues, loosing a best friend or even being the second choice. It breaks my heart cause I personally had to stop watching the show cause it kept triggering me and kept reminding me of past events. Its a great show non-the-less but, I can't watch it anymore.

when I first saw Steven universe, I felt as though I *was* Steven. Making the best out of life, laughing and crying all the same. I thought of the show as light-hearted kids show. Now as I watch it again, I see the message behind, and feel the characters. I understand Pearl, as she clings onto her lasts times with rose, making an unhealthy obsession with her. I see how spinel tried to the best friend she could, but it still wasn’t enough for rose. She grew out of her, grew out of spinel , but spinel never grew out of her. Rose unconsciously made a giant mess, even for Steven. He felt like he wasn’t good enough, and hearing about all the great things rose did made it worse. He’s always trying to live up to her, but it turns him into a monster inside, eating him up. Steven universe is everything this current generation needs, as it faces shows homosexuality with pride, depression with truth and love with all the difficulties.

Y'know, I just had a thought. I think Spinel might be a representation of the effects of abandonment and neglect on children. So many kids grow up feeling this way, giving absolute blind adoration and love to their parent or guardian, trying their best to make them smile and laugh, only to get nothing in return. Simply because they're naive and young, not knowing when to stop or how to pick up on the social cues the adults around them can. Instead of being taught, their parent just dips out of their responsibility and leaves either the other parent to fix it, or the kid themselves. Because of this a lot of kids may grow up thinking there's something wrong with them and develop self-destructive coping mechanisms (in this case Spinel poofing herself and reforming with all her scars) or mental illnesses.
Not only that, but Spinel uses self-harm as a coping mechanism. She pulls her hair, punches herself, and it might be subtle, but she squeezes her hand really tight when she says 'You gonna leave me alone?' I think that because she thought it was her fault, she subconsciously developed the self-harming coping mechanism.
Guys, I just noticed this. Spinel’s backstory is Exactly like Jessie’s from toy story. (If you watched toy story before) both of them were abandoned from a very close friend. Jessie is a toy. And toys are made for entertainment like spinel. Both of them waited for a very long time to be played with again. This is the part that hits. It makes me sad that spinel was made for only entertainment because toys are for entertainment. Toys like Jessie are just played with for a few couple years and just abandoned. It’s Ike they are being used and left behind and all for what? Just to entertain? I think Jessie and spinel are both the same and the backstories are the same. I just came up with this analogy a few minutes ago, and think it’s very interesting. Just a thought. (Thank u so much for the likes. ❤️)
SleepyBunny Music I like this idea, but there is one difference between their stories: the girl who abandoned Jessie was a child, so what, 12 years old? Pink Diamond was thousands of years old when she left Spinel. The girl could have never had any clue that Jessie had emotions or feelings, because Jessie doesn’t have facial expressions, she can’t move, and she can only say certain words. Spinel is probably the opposite of that, so I think it’s pretty obvious that Spinel had feelings, which makes it even sadder when you realise Pink probably just didn’t give a shit, or was too ignorant at that stage in her life to notice.
Honestly this was such a good edit, like not in terms of editing transitions and whatnot but the timing and the scenes you decide to use for each part of the songs. This is a little rambly but i honestly enjoyed this and you deserve more views

Spinel deserves so much better. Like even though she's with the diamonds now, I really hope they learn to understand her feelings and how to take care of here now because of what and how much this incident changed her. She's no longer like any other Spinel, not because she's corrupted or her gem is broken, it's all mental and emotional. *SU FUTURE SPOILERS!* Sure we saw her with the diamonds all happy again but surely she still hiding her broken feelings inside. And if she is, she's immediately on of the best characters in the entire show for trying not to make anyone dislike her in anyway like pink diamond did. This part goes for anyone that's going through things similar to Spinel. Just remember that whatever happened to you, it will get better somehow and you do deserve better. Your trauma might not go away completely, but it's still there because that's how you properly live life, experiencing struggles so you know how to move on and possibly comfort someone else who's going through something bad. And if any of you have loved ones that are going through something that's eating them up inside and you want to help them. First of all, be there for them. Let them know that you're there to help and support them through their tough times. Second, don't do anything that will trigger their trauma or their feelings like asking them lots of questions or overdoing your comfort to them. Third, tell them things that can have a positive impact on them. Doesn't have to be anything complicated, just some words of reassurance from time to time. And fourth, never leave their side. Not even after they've moved on from their bad feelings. Stay with them for as long as you live. Not only in case their bad feelings come back, but because of what you've done for them to feel better. I hope this helps anyone. Stay safe, and dont ever give up on your lives or anyone else's.

Pink Diamond was thousands of years old when she left Spinel. The girl could have never had any clue that Jessie had emotions or feelings, because Jessie doesn’t have facial expressions, she can’t move, and she can only say certain words. Spinel is probably the opposite of that, so I think it’s pretty obvious that Spinel had feelings, which makes it even sadder when you realise Pink probably just didn’t give a shit, or was too ignorant at that stage in her life to notice.

Spinel deserves so much better. Like even though she's with the diamonds now, I really hope they learn to understand her feelings and how to take care of here now because of what and how much this incident changed her. She's no longer like any other Spinel, not because she's corrupted or her gem is broken, it's all mental and emotional.
*SU FUTURE SPOILERS!* Sure we saw her with the diamonds all happy again but surely she still hiding her broken feelings inside. And if she is, she's immediately on of the best characters in the entire show for trying not to make anyone dislike her in anyway like pink diamond did.
This part goes for anyone that's going through things similar to Spinel. Just remember that whatever happened to you, it will get better somehow and you do deserve better. Your trauma might not go away completely, but it's still there because that's how you properly live life, experiencing struggles so you know how to move on and possibly comfort someone else who's going through something bad.
And if any of you have loved ones that are going through something that's eating them up inside and you want to help them. First of all, be there for them. Let them know that you're there to help and support them through their tough times. Second, don't do anything that will trigger their trauma or their feelings like asking them lots of questions or overdoing your comfort to them. Third, tell them things that can have a positive impact on them. Doesn't have to be anything complicated, just some words of reassurance from time to time. And fourth, never leave their side. Not even after they've moved on from their bad feelings. Stay with them for as long as you live. Not only in case their bad feelings come back, but because of what you've done for them to feel better.
I hope this helps anyone. Stay safe, and dont ever give up on your lives or anyone else's.
