I agree. I was born into a christian family. My best friend was a muslim. Spending a lot of time with her showed me that I could have been her. She actually wanted to convert to christianity bc she didn't quite like the cultural aspects of islam and how different women are being treated. She thought Christianity was way more liberal. Now she is atheist but pretends to be muslim because of her family.

An atheist is way more independent than a religious person & psychologically stronger as well if he or she remains so through out their life. Because they don't blame or depend on a divine being. If someone ends up in the hospital they don't go to a church but seek professional help. Although i consider myself an atheist i still do love the idea of religion. My grandmother had a pretty hard life and she turned to Christianity and it gave her a lot of strength she wouldn't have otherwise. She's one of the nicest people i know. Religion can have something like a therapeutic effect on some people which is great in my opinion.

My muslim friend was a good , nice and helpful person until that event, then he stopped calling or messeging me. I still wish him for his Eid & Ramadan but he never wished back me for any of my festival yet, even when we were good friends. This was weired experience. I have a christian friend since my childhood also who also asked me to visit his church, i used to visit and he also tried to convert me but i didnt, but we are still as good friends as we were before and although i respect jesus, i didnt converted to christianity neighter he forced me after his first attempt. @saol tazaray I'm proud of people who are able to break away from the ignorant chains of religion, it takes courage to come to terms with reality. Believe me I've read the Bible, Qur'an, Tor'ah, some Hindu Vedas, Zoroastrian Avesta and much Greek/Roman and Scandinavian mythology. When you study enough religions, a pattern emerges and you will realise these belief systems are only there to unite people, to control/manipulate and like a child trying to explain how the universe works. I've spent the past 13 years on a Biology Bachelor's + Master's degree, Astronomy Bachelor's and Computer Science Bachelor's degree, and where evolution and the big bang seemed so impossible when I knew nothing about them, now it's completely logical and makes total sense. Everything seems like black magic when you know nothing about it. People like us share this earth with about ~5 billion people who know absolutely nothing about these subjects and are therefore fooled by pseudoscientific belief systems. It's saddening to live among so many people and know that they're all wrong. Therefore I think those who know better have an obligation to combat the insanity of religion and erase it from our societies, slowly but surely over the next centuries.

Part of believing in God is having FAITH. People with faith have plenty of "evidence" for God's existence. People without faith have no "evidence" because they are disconnected from the reality of God. Does that make sense? You have faith that you'll wake up tomorrow right? An atheist is way more independent than a religious person & psychologically stronger as well if he or she remains so through out their life. Because they don't blame or depend on a divine being. If someone ends up in the hospital they don't go to a church but seek professional help. They don't pray 5x a day but do more for humanity because they don't have to worry about a religious institution. So even if God does exist who would be considered the better person? Muhammad Hijab or Elon Musk? Jeff Bezos or Shabir Ali? I don't believe in God anymore because of a psychosis experience where I had religious delusions. I thought those delusions were the way God communicated with me. These delusions led me to harm myself and others in the name of obeying God. When I started taking medication and the delusions and hallucinations stopped, I realized there is no difference between me and a religious person. I was in so much pain and suffering that my mind created a notion of God and delusions around it just to make sense of my suffering and pain. When in fact I was harming myself and others because I thought I was doing the right thing. Now I live in regret and shame for I have done in the name of God. Then I came to this conclusion: God is a man made concept to make sense of suffering, but in reality we live in utmost randomness. There is no actual plan, or sense of "test". Because why would God test a person who lost their mind ? If they can't differentiate between right and wrong. I used to be very religious and seriously devoted but I didn't find any peace of mind like it was promised. Being religious before this psychosis experience did not eliviate any of my suffering. So what's the point ? To do like others do, and to belong to a certain group of people.

To one person, god may be a universal force. To another, god is a sentient being residing outside our universe. I think we as people prescribe attributes to certain god like figures in our mind, which may not match up with scripture. As for regional religious trends, you’re correct in saying it doesn’t affect truth. Faith is knowledge that cannot be proved by this world/dimension means as it's based on connection to another dimension where God and other beings reside, so called heaven. I was born in Algeria and learned Islam in school, but I chose to follow Jesus Christ as an adult. Jesus is my savior. I love him. I didn't chose a religion, I chose to follow Jesus. He gives me spiritual force and he protects me. He responds to my prayers. I believe he is the Lord and he will come back. How I know he is the living God ? I was struggling with anxiety, depression and had bad thoughts in general. The day after I've been saved, everything was washed away. Since that day, I felt peace within me that I couldn't understand. I felt like that when I was a little child. I still have problems in life but since I know Jesus Christ, I felt a profound peace within me that never goes away. As I've been saved, I want to share the gospel with people, it's up to them, they can accept Jesus or reject him. It's their choice. @WheresWaldo05 religion is very much based on where you were born tho. Do you believe the millions of Muslim Arabs in the middle east had chosen to be Muslim? Or is it because of where they were born? Hindus born in India, Christians who were born in Europe/Americas etc. There is a cultural aspect, too, which is very much influenced by where you live. Christians in Europe are less religious than in the Americas, for example. Japan is very non religious by other standards, but they have their own spirituality and beliefs, too. If you were born in Japan, you are far less likely to be Muslim or Christian.
Very few people drop their adopted religion. It is true that many become athiest, agnostic or secular but they end up being a nominal christain, Muslim or other faiths.
Not true. Atheism is in decline, with Islam (sadly!) being the fastest growing religion. Christianity is also on the rise, with approx. 10 mio. converts/year (low estimate, as places where Christianity is "rising" are authoritarian and won't report the facts correctly, i.e. China), many of which are young people.

And you cannot tell me that any religious book written explains the truth about after dead. ..well according to christianity, Jesus is claiming to be part of Gods makeup, so when we see what Jesus is like in the NT we see what God is like... ..what about the OT (Old covenant) I hear you say. well it is an old covenant. Because Jesus paid the price for our sin we dont have to, thats why the New covenant is different... ...he gives us a new power to live it and forgiveness in prepartion for His kingdom where the earth will be put back to how it was originally created... ...without sin or suffering, but those who cause sin and suffering wont be there, otherwise it wont be heaven...

I was a born and raised a Catholic, became an Atheist for some years, before reverted back to Catholicism. I was very strong with my atheism and would ridicule God and religion on online forums, but many steps in my life led me back to the Church and God, the Holy Eucharist brought me back, I felt the presence of God from the Holy Eucharist when I did not expect anything at all, after a Holy Thursday Mass in 2017 when the Blessed Sacrament was put for adoration. Believing in God can be a matter of choice, but you can't deny when there are unexplained miracles and providence happening in your life. The calling for God is made by God, not our decision, if you open your heart and seek God you will find Him. If you decide to not believe, you will never believe no matter how much revelation is given to you.

This is one of your best videos in my opinion. It was when I was a young child that I questioned how Santa Claus could fit down a chimney, or how Reindeer could fly, that I stopped believing that an invisible man in the sky created everything, or any of the various supernatural "miracles" that most religions teach. Also, what's the deal with the hats? If god was so concerned with what kind of hat or clothing we wear, and where and when we should wear it, why didn't he provide the clothing with clear instructions? I don't think China was the leading manufacturer back then. Seriously though, there are many religious people who I like very much, and many atheists I share nothing in common with aside from the disbelief in deities (not a fan of communism for example, and sadly many theists confuse the two), but we can't find _the truth_ if we don't question our _beliefs_ .

And if so, would you please elaborate on your experiences that led you to believe that many theists (specifically) confuse a social, philosophical, economic and political ideology (Communism) with individuals that don't believe in God, which are entirely differing categories of things? I'm genuinely curious, because I've never in my life met a single theist that would confuse these two very different types of things (which I'd liken to confusing an English class for a mechanic, for example). It makes a lot more sense that if we want to be treated well that we should treat others well, and to cooperate to make a productive society where people can feel safe and happy. Not everyone is on board with the same idea of what makes a good society though, and to be honest perhaps it's best if people with extremely different views stay apart, otherwise conflict is sure to happen.

I'm a Christian. I believe the chaos must exist so that people aren't forced to believe in God, so they can choose. People are given the choice to create evil or good on Earth to see what happens when we do and don't have God in our lives. In the end, everyone will be fairly judged. No one has ever seen matter create matter, it goes against the basic laws of thermodynamics. It takes faith to believe it has created itself at some point without explaination. Many people, including myself think that God should in fact be the default answer. Nothing from something is also magic however you look at it. The concept of God resolves a psychological issue in the human mind of uncertainty, it creates hope ect... Someone once said to me, they they believe people need God to feel psychologically secure, as though the human mind needs it. 1 Corinthians 1:19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." @@bdaproductions9370the big bang was not an explosion but an expansion, like a balloon moving outwards. Also, we are in a constant state of disorder all the time. Our chemistry is always moving in all sorts of directions (meaning our metabolisms are absolutely crazy and subjected to constant errors), we must constantly eat and drink other molecules in order to function, the ball of light in the sky gives us energy but also gives us cancer and blindness, and so much more. To say that we are not in disorder is nonsensical because our understanding of order and disorder is limited to our individual subjective experience of it. On a scientific scale we are in a constant state of disorder.

Yet I was arguing for a level of order which we can currently observe, that would be highly unlikely without a creator at work. However given the vast size of our universe and the proposed number of planets that orbit stars stated by our modern scientific understanding (10 x 10^24) and that we know so much of what is needed for our understanding of life to emerge, the number doesn’t actually seem that unlikely to me. The factors needed for complex life to emerge are somewhat immense that is true, but given the astronomical number of star-orbiting planets in our universe it seems pretty plausible. At least to me it does.

I was born into an Atheist family here in Denmark. I never believed until I joined the Army. I went to Afghanistan in 2009, shit happened and I lost my faith. In 2017 I Camino de Santiago, an old pilgrim route in Spain. Something happened, and I had to turn to God once more. Today I am a "Born again" Christian, in the reformed branch. I don't talk to others who know me about it or try to convert anyone. I don't judge people, because I'm a sinner too. Even my wife and daughter are an Atheist. So I keep my faith in myself and try to be the best human I can be. I don't have all the answers, and there ís a risk that I might be wrong and there is no God, but this is the path I have chosen, and believe in.

If Jesus is truly God, then yes, he accounted for that. Jesus was killed by religious people, they are the ones who thought they were better than him. He could’ve brought an army of angels to his side, but he died for our sins. That’s the only reason he came, was because of pure love for us. Beacuse we have many eye witness accounts as described in the NT. The NT is also partially backed up by some historians(i.e. Tacitus) as a reliable historical source. Keep in mind that it was written by people who died for the truth and gained no material value from the truth ( a.k.a the Bible ).

WRT religion 1G. Had you been born a Muslim in Pakistan you would likely find Islam absolutely convincing today, and be offended by Mohammad cartoons. 1H. There would be no way for you to come to the conclusions that you have now. 1I. 500 years ago it would have been even more difficult. 2A. Especially since 1, 1G, 1H. 2B. So can God or Allah be fair? If not, can we believe in him? 2C. Isn’t it therefore unfair to require belief? 2D. The majority of the world will go to hell based on where they’re born. 2E. Most people don’t seek and don’t inquire or know that they should. 3A. In China, the question of the existence of God would not even make sense to them. 3B. Many people live and die without ever giving the matter any thought. 3C. God appears to have no concern for such people. 3D. An immoral person who believes, according to either Islam or Christianity, may go to heaven, but a sincere kind and honest person 3E. Laying that aside, suppose _ad argumentum_ that One true God exists and that I am expected to find Him. At a certain point, I am 3E2. God made us flawed and yet pushes us to this decision point where we must make one decision for all time. 3E3. God gave us each free will, foreknowing how we would use it. Yet He created us knowing we would go to hell. 3E4. If God foreknew sin then sin is part of His plan; else he lacks the attributes of God. 3E5. If God did not care or does not care, then He is not Good. 3E6. It is not possible that God would have a morally sufficient reason for creating vessels of wrath. 3E7. That we do not understand is not a sufficient argument to justify the problem. 3E8. The father to son analogy is insufficient because if we make the wrong choice we are not improved by it but destroyed by it. 3E9. If the father could have made the son perfect without a dentist or doctor, but didn’t, we would call the father cruel. 4A. What was God doing for all that time. Is God social? Did He create us for a reason? What reason? Did He simply feel He should? Why? 4B. Without humans, God is somewhat meaningless, isn’t He? 4C. This implies that God is a human creation. 4D. I find it nearly impossible to believe in God because of this. 4E. I prefer to believe that humanity is developing and growing, and that this is the true story of the highest being. 5A. It seems that these were all _ad hoc_ explanations of the world. 5B. We now know that we are not the center of the universe. 5C. All religions we have now are remnants of a less-informed age when we believed that we might be the center of the universe. 5D. But we are expected to believe that an ancient prophet or scribe got it right despite his ignorance. 5E. We are supposed to trust the chain of custody for these dubious evidences when I can’t even trust the neighbors. 5F. I can’t trust my own eyes, my own knowledge, but I should trust these people from history? 5G. It seems to me that if there were a true God who wanted us to find Him, He would make it easier. 5H. The very existence of apologists makes me doubt that there is a True God.
So, diving in head-first: I'd like to address the points one through 3, as I understand them (please correct me if I have missed the boat): In a narrow interpretation of religions, you have a solid point. If God created the majority of humanity merely to be vessels of wrath, then God is unspeakably cruel and not a god at all. Now, from what little I know of Islam, I would opine that that is a good analysis, but I do not believe that it is so for Christianity. Pausing here for one epistemological point: You remarked that each person can find a seemingly solid argument for his position, which is not as solid when viewed objectively. I am hoping that you do, despite that, believe in objective truth and that some things can be discovered by logic. If you do not accept logic, then the remainder of my argument will be pointless. I would like to submit that while in the broadest terms, Christianity seems very binary, and I am not by any stretch of the imagination a universalist, I think that there is a "rounding of the edges" in certain passages. For example, Christ describes the division of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25:31-46. Of note here is that the passage does not say that the sheep are Christians and the goats are non-Christians. Matt. 25:32 says that these are "all nations" and we discover in the rest of the passage that the division between them is based entirely upon the degree to which they showed mercy in this life. "The nations" is a common way of referring to those other than Israel, which is to imply that these would be non-Christian nations. Now, if the judgment is based not solely upon the obvious criteria, that Christians are admitted and non-Christians excluded, then the over-arching argument of your first three points is, at the very least, somewhat blunted. Perhaps the Muslim man never heard the Word and was never persuaded, but perhaps he did justice and loved mercy and walked humbly in the sight of all (Micah 6:8). Perhaps his mercy unto "The least of these" is sufficient, or at least does not lead to eternal damnation in fire forever. I am not alone in this reading. Dante Alghieri, a Christian writer of the Middle ages, based his _Divine Comedy_ upon this idea of a multi-tiered afterlife. I hesitate to speak this dogmatically, and some Christians will greatly oppose this idea, but it is not outside of Christian belief entirely. In C.S. Lewis' works _The Last Battle_ and _A Horse and His Boy_ give us a hint of this idea as well. In each, people from the pagan land of Tash are found to be "On Aslan's side." Some accused Lewis of Universalism because of such things, but, again, it is not entirely outside Christian thought. In point one, more specifically, you address the odds of you in particular having been born into the right religion. Well, I applaud you for recognizing that at most, one of the great world religions (with a caveat) can be true and correct. But if we have ten or ten thousand or ten million possible answers, that does not mean that there is no right answer. We cannot say that two plus two cannot equal four because the odds against it being the one true answer are infinity to one. So that there are many answers does not preclude that there is one right one. This does not prove that two plus two equals four: For that I must teach you mathematics. But logic alone tells us that many wrong answers do not preclude one right answer. Now, to address point three alone for a moment: You ask us to imagine a person in China with no inkling of God, to whom the very question is incomprehensible. One that I have two points: First, that every person has some inkling of things beyond this life. Many philosophers (the ones coming to mind are all Western, I must admit) have said that the existence of anything at all should suggest the existence of the maker of that thing. Heidigger, "Why is there something and not nothing?" The Apostle Paul, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:20); Matthew Henry, "He sees a world that could not make itself, and yet will not own it had a maker" ( _Commentary on the Whole Bible_ ). So it is arguable that no such man as the one whom you postulate can exist. As a second point: In many Christian denominations, there is a doctrine of an age of accountability. The idea is that children at first do not understand right and wrong, and come to know it and thus to be accountable for it as they mature. What is innocent in a child is not innocent in a grown man. For someone who never has an inkling that spiritual things exist, it is possible (I offer it as a theory) that such a man would never be accountable. In such a case, the only way for him to be judged would be by the test of the sheep and the goats (above). In support of this (I know that some Christians reading are grinding their teeth: Hear me, Brothers) There is Acts 17:31, in which Paul states that before Christ, God "winked at" pagan polytheism and did not hold the Greeks of Athens accountable for it, but with the coming of the gospel (through Paul) such innocence was no longer possible. So, again, we do not wish to say, as the Universalists do, that "Everyone will be saved eventually" but we also cannot entirely support a strictly binary litmus-test salvation. I know that this does not address the entire video, and I can merely hope that it provides food for thought, offered as friend to friend.

If you really need more than feelings and myths, analyze how the Bible prophesies can be observed in the real world as we speak. But you must be willing to do deep research and be open-minded. I only watched 6 min of this, and even though I'm not an atheist, I do agree with a lot of what he says. I also like how he doesn't actively try to preach atheism, those fundamental atheists are just as annoying as fundamental Christians or any fundamentalists, just shows that this guy has some level of spiritual maturity regardless of what he believes.

AP I have a Turkish friend who covered to Christianity from Islam and went back and forth and now he is an atheist and he brought up the issue to me of, "Couldn't God just have created humans that were perfect and good?" And when you brought that exact same thing up it touched me and reminded me of him. I have also been very recently wondering and thinking, "Regardless of sin, how can God create a hell and send people there on the basis that us getting to "choose" heaven instead would cause us to love him? And the fact that he would do this seems kind of sadistic and prideful to me too. Sorry if I'm not explaining it very well. Christians and family members would say and have said to me that it was to test us that God put us on the earth and gave us this life to live, even Paul says that in the New Testament. Okay, so he did, but I still see the creation of hell and sending people there after letting sin come into the world so that by default, humans would fall and have to be punished with eternal torment in hell as sadistic, regardless of us sinning. The fact that God sent someone to save us from "our sins" or our sinful nature, which he didn't keep from becoming corrupted in the beginning, and then proclaimed Jesus to the whole world through 12 selected people who followed this one person and wrote scriptures about him seems prideful and just arrogant and cruel in a way because it's like God just wanted adoration. A person that wants to find God will find God. The person who just listens to somebody else and believes what they believe isn’t even trying to find the connection with the creator. I was a stone cold atheist despite being born in a Christian area. My parents called themselves Christian but never attended church or spoke with us of spiritual matters. And it was personal experience, by way of an immediate answer too a fervent and desperate prayer, that made me dive deep into religious study and I believe in Jesus.

I believe in Jesus, just 8 years ago.. in my 20ies, even tho i was born Christian in a one of biggest muslim country. Not by default. I was going through things that i made decision. It's a long story. My view is, it's not about heaven or hell, but when i know my Jesus, i really have personal experience to push me into a better person, i was a douche bitter narc back then. I almost got in islam after my long time being not believe in God, but when i studied it, it's just not for me. I also believe in humanity, as long as you're not hurting people and you treat each other like you want to be treated, i'm good with it. And it's strange how my atheist friends who have accomplished their inner peace are way good to do humanity than hardcore muslims, i am more acceptable as equal person among them and feel safe, because at least as a Christian in a muslim country, i don't feel like my life threatened because i believe in Jesus. Growing up as a curious atheist who wanted some answers about life, I looked into how science explains life and concluded that science only discovers what is already there and depends with how technology is which might change in future, so I believed there must be a creator and a designer of everything (God), but which God? I looked into many religions and finally I was to chose between islam and Christianity, I saw how islam uses sword to prosper and forced conversion and I didn't see love in it. I concluded that Christianity is the true religion and it answered all questions about life. So Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior and I will worship only Him as my God for the rest of my life

I grew up in Mexico a mostly Catholic country yet when I was of age I started questioning Jesus, why do we believe in Jesus? Why did he had to die? Therefore, the question of demographics and religion is not relevant. God put us in this world to make it good. Those focused on that are on the right path. I agree. I was born into a christian family. My best friend was a muslim. Spending a lot of time with her showed me that I could have been her. She actually wanted to convert to christianity bc she didn't quite like the cultural aspects of islam and how different women are being treated. She thought Christianity was way more liberal. Although i consider myself an atheist i still do love the idea of religion. My grandmother had a pretty hard life and she turned to Christianity and it gave her a lot of strength she wouldn't have otherwise. She's one of the nicest people i know. Religion can have something like a therapeutic effect on some people which is great in my opinion.

@saol tazaray I'm proud of people who are able to break away from the ignorant chains of religion, it takes courage to come to terms with reality. Believe me I've read the Bible, Qur'an, Tor'ah, some Hindu Vedas, Zoroastrian Avesta and much Greek/Roman and Scandinavian mythology. When you study enough religions, a pattern emerges and you will realise these belief systems are only there to unite people, to control/manipulate and like a child trying to explain how the universe works.
I've spent the past 13 years on a Biology Bachelor's + Master's degree, Astronomy Bachelor's and Computer Science Bachelor's degree, and where evolution and the big bang seemed so impossible when I knew nothing about them, now it's completely logical and makes total sense. Everything seems like black magic when you know nothing about it.
People like us share this earth with about ~5 billion people who know absolutely nothing about these subjects and are therefore fooled by pseudoscientific belief systems. It's saddening to live among so many people and know that they're all wrong. Therefore I think those who know better have an obligation to combat the insanity of religion and erase it from our societies, slowly but surely over the next centuries.

Part of believing in God is having FAITH. People with faith have plenty of "evidence" for God's existence. People without faith have no "evidence" because they are disconnected from the reality of God. Does that make sense? You have faith that you'll wake up tomorrow right? I don't believe in God anymore because of a psychosis experience where I had religious delusions. I thought those delusions were the way God communicated with me. These delusions led me to harm myself and others in the name of obeying God. When I started taking medication and the delusions and hallucinations stopped, I realized there is no difference between me and a religious person. I was in so much pain and suffering that my mind created a notion of God and delusions around it just to make sense of my suffering and pain. When in fact I was harming myself and others because I thought I was doing the right thing. Now I live in regret and shame for I have done in the name of God. Then I came to this conclusion: God is a man made concept to make sense of suffering, but in reality we live in utmost randomness. There is no actual plan, or sense of "test". Because why would God test a person who lost their mind ? If they can't differentiate between right and wrong. I used to be very religious and seriously devoted but I didn't find any peace of mind like it was promised. Being religious before this psychosis experience did not eliviate any of my suffering. So what's the point ? To do like others do, and to belong to a certain group of people.

I was born in Algeria and learned Islam in school, but I chose to follow Jesus Christ as an adult. Jesus is my savior. I love him. I didn't chose a religion, I chose to follow Jesus. He gives me spiritual force and he protects me. He responds to my prayers. I believe he is the Lord and he will come back. How I know he is the living God ? I was struggling with anxiety, depression and had bad thoughts in general. The day after I've been saved, everything was washed away. Since that day, I felt peace within me that I couldn't understand. I felt like that when I was a little child. I still have problems in life but since I know Jesus Christ, I felt a profound peace within me that never goes away. As I've been saved, I want to share the gospel with people, it's up to them, they can accept Jesus or reject him. It's their choice.

Or is it because of where they were born? Hindus born in India, Christians who were born in Europe/Americas etc. There is a cultural aspect, too, which is very much influenced by where you live. Christians in Europe are less religious than in the Americas, for example. Japan is very non religious by other standards, but they have their own spirituality and beliefs, too. If you were born in Japan, you are far less likely to be Muslim or Christian.

Christianity is also on the rise, with approx. 10 mio. converts/year (low estimate, as places where Christianity is "rising" are authoritarian and won't report the facts correctly, i.e. China), many of which are young people.

I was a born and raised a Catholic, became an Atheist for some years, before reverted back to Catholicism. I was very strong with my atheism and would ridicule God and religion on online forums, but many steps in my life led me back to the Church and God, the Holy Eucharist brought me back, I felt the presence of God from the Holy Eucharist when I did not expect anything at all, after a Holy Thursday Mass in 2017 when the Blessed Sacrament was put for adoration. Believing in God can be a matter of choice, but you can't deny when there are unexplained miracles and providence happening in your life. The calling for God is made by God, not our decision, if you open your heart and seek God you will find Him. If you decide to not believe, you will never believe no matter how much revelation is given to you.
But belief is NOT a choice. We are either convinced that something is true or we are not.

It was when I was a young child that I questioned how Santa Claus could fit down a chimney, or how Reindeer could fly, that I stopped believing that an invisible man in the sky created everything, or any of the various supernatural "miracles" that most religions teach.
Also, what's the deal with the hats? If god was so concerned with what kind of hat or clothing we wear, and where and when we should wear it, why didn't he provide the clothing with clear instructions? I don't think China was the leading manufacturer back then.
Seriously though, there are many religious people who I like very much, and many atheists I share nothing in common with aside from the disbelief in deities (not a fan of communism for example, and sadly many theists confuse the two), but we can't find _the truth_ if we don't question our _beliefs_ .

I'm genuinely curious, because I've never in my life met a single theist that would confuse these two very different types of things (which I'd liken to confusing an English class for a mechanic, for example). You can't be good by yourself ... You need Jesus for your eternal salvation. You are either a slave of the devil (selfishness, self-love, self-centerdness) or a child of God (love towards God, family and other people, selflessness, generosity, justice, respect). This cannot be achieved withoud God.

It makes a lot more sense that if we want to be treated well that we should treat others well, and to cooperate to make a productive society where people can feel safe and happy. Not everyone is on board with the same idea of what makes a good society though, and to be honest perhaps it's best if people with extremely different views stay apart, otherwise conflict is sure to happen.

I'm a Christian. I believe the chaos must exist so that people aren't forced to believe in God, so they can choose. People are given the choice to create evil or good on Earth to see what happens when we do and don't have God in our lives. In the end, everyone will be fairly judged.
No one has ever seen matter create matter, it goes against the basic laws of thermodynamics. It takes faith to believe it has created itself at some point without explaination. Many people, including myself think that God should in fact be the default answer. Nothing from something is also magic however you look at it.
The concept of God resolves a psychological issue in the human mind of uncertainty, it creates hope ect... Someone once said to me, they they believe people need God to feel psychologically secure, as though the human mind needs it.

Our chemistry is always moving in all sorts of directions (meaning our metabolisms are absolutely crazy and subjected to constant errors), we must constantly eat and drink other molecules in order to function, the ball of light in the sky gives us energy but also gives us cancer and blindness, and so much more. To say that we are not in disorder is nonsensical because our understanding of order and disorder is limited to our individual subjective experience of it. On a scientific scale we are in a constant state of disorder.

However given the vast size of our universe and the proposed number of planets that orbit stars stated by our modern scientific understanding (10 x 10^24) and that we know so much of what is needed for our understanding of life to emerge, the number doesn’t actually seem that unlikely to me. The factors needed for complex life to emerge are somewhat immense that is true, but given the astronomical number of star-orbiting planets in our universe it seems pretty plausible. At least to me it does.

I was born into an Atheist family here in Denmark. I never believed until I joined the Army.
I went to Afghanistan in 2009, shit happened and I lost my faith.
In 2017 I Camino de Santiago, an old pilgrim route in Spain. Something happened, and I had to turn to God once more.
Today I am a "Born again" Christian, in the reformed branch. I don't talk to others who know me about it or try to convert anyone. I don't judge people, because I'm a sinner too. Even my wife and daughter are an Atheist. So I keep my faith in myself and try to be the best human I can be.
I don't have all the answers, and there ís a risk that I might be wrong and there is no God, but this is the path I have chosen, and believe in.

If Jesus is truly God, then yes, he accounted for that. Jesus was killed by religious people, they are the ones who thought they were better than him. He could’ve brought an army of angels to his side, but he died for our sins. That’s the only reason he came, was because of pure love for us.

@@Nothing-lg7rc We know that God exists beacuse Jesus was sent onto the Earth to wash away previous sins via resurrection. How do we know that hey truly died on the cross and was resurrected? Beacuse we have many eye witness accounts as described in the NT. The NT is also partially backed up by some historians(i.e. Tacitus) as a reliable historical source. Keep in mind that it was written by people who died for the truth and gained no material value from the truth ( a.k.a the Bible ).

1B. Within Christianity different groups have different doctrines and each hold their arguments to be convincing.
1C. If you want to justify your religion, you will make a solid argument and find it convincing.
1D. I am ignorant, we are ignorant.
1E. The human brain may be incapable of finding truth, esp. WRT religion
1G. Had you been born a Muslim in Pakistan you would likely find Islam absolutely convincing today, and be offended by Mohammad cartoons.
1H. There would be no way for you to come to the conclusions that you have now.
1I. 500 years ago it would have been even more difficult.
2A. Especially since 1, 1G, 1H.
2B. So can God or Allah be fair? If not, can we believe in him?
2C. Isn’t it therefore unfair to require belief?
2D. The majority of the world will go to hell based on where they’re born.
2E. Most people don’t seek and don’t inquire or know that they should.
3A. In China, the question of the existence of God would not even make sense to them.
3B. Many people live and die without ever giving the matter any thought.
3C. God appears to have no concern for such people.
3D. An immoral person who believes, according to either Islam or Christianity, may go to heaven, but a sincere kind and honest person
3E. Laying that aside, suppose _ad argumentum_ that One true God exists and that I am expected to find Him. At a certain point, I am
3E2. God made us flawed and yet pushes us to this decision point where we must make one decision for all time.
3E3. God gave us each free will, foreknowing how we would use it. Yet He created us knowing we would go to hell.
3E4. If God foreknew sin then sin is part of His plan; else he lacks the attributes of God.
3E5. If God did not care or does not care, then He is not Good.
3E6. It is not possible that God would have a morally sufficient reason for creating vessels of wrath.
3E7. That we do not understand is not a sufficient argument to justify the problem.
3E8. The father to son analogy is insufficient because if we make the wrong choice we are not improved by it but destroyed by it.
3E9. If the father could have made the son perfect without a dentist or doctor, but didn’t, we would call the father cruel.
4A. What was God doing for all that time. Is God social? Did He create us for a reason? What reason? Did He simply feel He should? Why?
4B. Without humans, God is somewhat meaningless, isn’t He?
4C. This implies that God is a human creation.

5D. But we are expected to believe that an ancient prophet or scribe got it right despite his ignorance.
5E. We are supposed to trust the chain of custody for these dubious evidences when I can’t even trust the neighbors.
5F. I can’t trust my own eyes, my own knowledge, but I should trust these people from history?
5G. It seems to me that if there were a true God who wanted us to find Him, He would make it easier.
5H. The very existence of apologists makes me doubt that there is a True God.
So, diving in head-first:
I'd like to address the points one through 3, as I understand them (please correct me if I have missed the boat):
In a narrow interpretation of religions, you have a solid point. If God created the majority of humanity merely to be vessels of wrath, then God is unspeakably cruel and not a god at all. Now, from what little I know of Islam, I would opine that that is a good analysis, but I do not believe that it is so for Christianity.
Pausing here for one epistemological point: You remarked that each person can find a seemingly solid argument for his position, which is not as solid when viewed objectively. I am hoping that you do, despite that, believe in objective truth and that some things can be discovered by logic. If you do not accept logic, then the remainder of my argument will be pointless.
I would like to submit that while in the broadest terms, Christianity seems very binary, and I am not by any stretch of the imagination a universalist, I think that there is a "rounding of the edges" in certain passages. For example, Christ describes the division of the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25:31-46. Of note here is that the passage does not say that the sheep are Christians and the goats are non-Christians. Matt. 25:32 says that these are "all nations" and we discover in the rest of the passage that the division between them is based entirely upon the degree to which they showed mercy in this life. "The nations" is a common way of referring to those other than Israel, which is to imply that these would be non-Christian nations.
Now, if the judgment is based not solely upon the obvious criteria, that Christians are admitted and non-Christians excluded, then the over-arching argument of your first three points is, at the very least, somewhat blunted. Perhaps the Muslim man never heard the Word and was never persuaded, but perhaps he did justice and loved mercy and walked humbly in the sight of all (Micah 6:8). Perhaps his mercy unto "The least of these" is sufficient, or at least does not lead to eternal damnation in fire forever.
I am not alone in this reading. Dante Alghieri, a Christian writer of the Middle ages, based his _Divine Comedy_ upon this idea of a multi-tiered afterlife. I hesitate to speak this dogmatically, and some Christians will greatly oppose this idea, but it is not outside of Christian belief entirely. In C.S. Lewis' works _The Last Battle_ and _A Horse and His Boy_ give us a hint of this idea as well. In each, people from the pagan land of Tash are found to be "On Aslan's side." Some accused Lewis of Universalism because of such things, but, again, it is not entirely outside Christian thought.
In point one, more specifically, you address the odds of you in particular having been born into the right religion. Well, I applaud you for recognizing that at most, one of the great world religions (with a caveat) can be true and correct. But if we have ten or ten thousand or ten million possible answers, that does not mean that there is no right answer. We cannot say that two plus two cannot equal four because the odds against it being the one true answer are infinity to one. So that there are many answers does not preclude that there is one right one. This does not prove that two plus two equals four: For that I must teach you mathematics. But logic alone tells us that many wrong answers do not preclude one right answer.
Now, to address point three alone for a moment: You ask us to imagine a person in China with no inkling of God, to whom the very question is incomprehensible. One that I have two points: First, that every person has some inkling of things beyond this life. Many philosophers (the ones coming to mind are all Western, I must admit) have said that the existence of anything at all should suggest the existence of the maker of that thing. Heidigger, "Why is there something and not nothing?" The Apostle Paul, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:20); Matthew Henry, "He sees a world that could not make itself, and yet will not own it had a maker" ( _Commentary on the Whole Bible_ ). So it is arguable that no such man as the one whom you postulate can exist.
As a second point: In many Christian denominations, there is a doctrine of an age of accountability. The idea is that children at first do not understand right and wrong, and come to know it and thus to be accountable for it as they mature. What is innocent in a child is not innocent in a grown man. For someone who never has an inkling that spiritual things exist, it is possible (I offer it as a theory) that such a man would never be accountable. In such a case, the only way for him to be judged would be by the test of the sheep and the goats (above). In support of this (I know that some Christians reading are grinding their teeth: Hear me, Brothers) There is Acts 17:31, in which Paul states that before Christ, God "winked at" pagan polytheism and did not hold the Greeks of Athens accountable for it, but with the coming of the gospel (through Paul) such innocence was no longer possible. So, again, we do not wish to say, as the Universalists do, that "Everyone will be saved eventually" but we also cannot entirely support a strictly binary litmus-test salvation.
I know that this does not address the entire video, and I can merely hope that it provides food for thought, offered as friend to friend.

AP I have a Turkish friend who covered to Christianity from Islam and went back and forth and now he is an atheist and he brought up the issue to me of, "Couldn't God just have created humans that were perfect and good?" And when you brought that exact same thing up it touched me and reminded me of him. I have also been very recently wondering and thinking, "Regardless of sin, how can God create a hell and send people there on the basis that us getting to "choose" heaven instead would cause us to love him? And the fact that he would do this seems kind of sadistic and prideful to me too. Sorry if I'm not explaining it very well. Christians and family members would say and have said to me that it was to test us that God put us on the earth and gave us this life to live, even Paul says that in the New Testament. Okay, so he did, but I still see the creation of hell and sending people there after letting sin come into the world so that by default, humans would fall and have to be punished with eternal torment in hell as sadistic, regardless of us sinning. The fact that God sent someone to save us from "our sins" or our sinful nature, which he didn't keep from becoming corrupted in the beginning, and then proclaimed Jesus to the whole world through 12 selected people who followed this one person and wrote scriptures about him seems prideful and just arrogant and cruel in a way because it's like God just wanted adoration. In my mind it seems so much more cruel because I have a really hard time explaining it in words outside my mind.

God loves you and he will keep pursue you to catch your attention and creating circumstances that you may meet him but ultimately God gave men and women free will to choose. A person that wants to find God will find God. The person who just listens to somebody else and believes what they believe isn’t even trying to find the connection with the creator. I was a stone cold atheist despite being born in a Christian area. My parents called themselves Christian but never attended church or spoke with us of spiritual matters. And it was personal experience, by way of an immediate answer too a fervent and desperate prayer, that made me dive deep into religious study and I believe in Jesus.
If you desperately want something to be true or want to find it then you can use whatever arbitrary events and coincidences you like to reinforce said viewpoint, that's not evidence of anything.

I believe in Jesus, just 8 years ago.. in my 20ies, even tho i was born Christian in a one of biggest muslim country. Not by default. I was going through things that i made decision. It's a long story. My view is, it's not about heaven or hell, but when i know my Jesus, i really have personal experience to push me into a better person, i was a douche bitter narc back then. I almost got in islam after my long time being not believe in God, but when i studied it, it's just not for me. I also believe in humanity, as long as you're not hurting people and you treat each other like you want to be treated, i'm good with it. And it's strange how my atheist friends who have accomplished their inner peace are way good to do humanity than hardcore muslims, i am more acceptable as equal person among them and feel safe, because at least as a Christian in a muslim country, i don't feel like my life threatened because i believe in Jesus.

Growing up as a curious atheist who wanted some answers about life, I looked into how science explains life and concluded that science only discovers what is already there and depends with how technology is which might change in future, so I believed there must be a creator and a designer of everything (God), but which God? I looked into many religions and finally I was to chose between islam and Christianity, I saw how islam uses sword to prosper and forced conversion and I didn't see love in it. I concluded that Christianity is the true religion and it answered all questions about life. So Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior and I will worship only Him as my God for the rest of my life

There is a lot of misconceptions not particularly with AP but in general that if you are raised in a Christian family you are a Christian, this is further from the truth since Christianity is not simply a religion like many Catholics practice. I grew up in Mexico a mostly Catholic country yet when I was of age I started questioning Jesus, why do we believe in Jesus? Why did he had to die? And even the same questions AP discussed in this video. It wasn't until I started reading the Bible, watch Bible studies and listen to many and I mean a lot of debates of Christianity vs other religions. I came to the personal conclusion that I believe the word of God, I believe we were destined to death and we get life in Jesus Christ by his sacrifice on the cross for our sins.
