I love the simplicity in the way teach that which is not necessarily simple to understand. You teach as a true expositor.

You must understand the aspect the similitude is covering. In some aspects I'm like a lamb and in some I am more like a lion. If people are complex, imagine our God.

So many people preach that we are the bride of Christ scriptures clearly show that’s not the truth.

    Paul stated "in his folly".
What is Paul saying? He is stating that "let me put this to you foolishly".
He compares the unity of the Body of Christ and the Head to a marriage...knowing he is speaking foolishly....because we are already one with Christ.

This same question was raised to Dr. Chuck Missler, recorded in one of his Q&A posted also in RUclips by Koinonia Institute. Essentially, he said at that time that most bible scholars hold the view that the body of Christ is the same as the Bride of Christ. Yet for Dr. Missler, is carefully yet open to a perspective that the bride will be a subset ( Im paraphrasing) of the body of Christ. In other words, it seems that not all of the body of Christ will become bride. As Im thinking that through, what comes to my mind is Jesus’ parable of the Ten Virgins, of which, 5 entered and the other 5 were in the same general location but were not able to get in the gate to witness and be part of the wedding as bride for the groom. So essentially, what you and Dr. Chuck Missler said could be both true, the only difference is that Dr. Missler pointed out the subset within the same body of Christ that you pointed out here. So yes, the body of Christ and the bride are the same in the sense that the bride will come from the same pool/group, just not perhaps the entire pool will end up being the bride. Just thinking out loud here….

We live in the entertainment age. You cannot just sit there and teach and expect people to listen. You have to have a show; some kind of drama. Because we are all a bunch of immature kids out here on the internet. 10 minutes max with lots of music, graphics, and cursing. And where is your tattoo.
No not really. Just being sarcastic. I really love your teaching. Keep it up.

@Brian Pompei LOL. Thanks for the great post and kind encouragement. We are not capable of being more entertaining, and we certainly can't sing, so we will just try to keep doing what we are doing. Alleluia.

      The bride is NOT Israel.

@@gonehome2 The Bride is the New Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem is Heaven come down to Earth promised to Israel.
The foundations of New Jerusalem are written the 12 Apostles. The 12 Apostles are Apostles of Israel.
Who will dwell in the New Jerusalem? Who was promised the city of Jerusalem? Israel.

@@gonehome2 why do you believe that the bride is not Israel?
We know that God had espoused Israel to himself, but, because of her harlotry, He wrote her a bill of divorcement. However, there's no reason not to believe they will not be His wife again-- Once God purifies Israel with the fires of the last days, i.e. "the time of Jacob's trouble", he will again be espoused to her.
But if this thinking is unscriptural, I'd be more than happy for the scriptures to change my mind.

@@gonehome2 It’s sad when you see that a person values their own thoughts over the word of the God of the Holy Ghost inspired and preserved words of scripture.
I pray you will listen to this faithful pastor again, with your KJV Bible in hands taking notes and being careful to mark the scriptures. Study it out for your self as did the Bereans to see if these things are not so.
Be wary of Pastors who teach in ignorance of “what saith the scriptures.”

The relationship between Christ and the New Jerusalem is described in similitude as the most intimate relationship between two human beings. But men do not physically or literally marry buildings. The one new man is both male and female as man was described in the beginning (Gen 1:27). Woman was a separate creation. Are all females women? The answer is no. I won't go into details about this here. All men are brothers of the first-born, that is, Christ, and are addressed as the brethren in the New Testament. The marriage of the Lamb is to women only, because women have no way of taking up their cross and following Christ, as required oi men. Women in the bible were always under authority, whether of their father or husband, So Christian women do have a hope in Christ that men do not have. Through marriage they will share fully in the rewards stated in Rev. 2-3.
