Its not justowner ops that dont want this horseshit. Im a company driver and our trucks will roll pretty quick for company equipment. They push this through and i believe I'll go back to turning wrenches. It wont be worth it anymore. Its just gonna be one bigass traffic jam.

Speed limiters would be dangerous if they were all set at the same speed. Period!!!

That's just stupid as hell. I have been a truck driver for over 25 years and I have never had a speeding ticket. And every truck that I have ever driven was turned up 100 percent. So all of these people that are fighting to get the speed limit set back to what it was 20 years ago again that's just fucking stupid as hell..

Been speed limited in 🇦🇺 for some time now 100kph, 60 mph. Roadtrains are limited to 90kph nowdays. Sucks and your snookered when you caught on highways behind cars doing 80 or 90kph as a lot of roads are only 2 lanes. Plenty of fast trucks before that, like your Bull haulers. I used to wait for the day Crazy Horse would be passing by. A W900 Kenworth in the 80's capable of 100mph with 3 loaded trailers, 40' flat tops loaded up, tarped up loads. Legendary. A Coach Captain even wrote into Truckin Life magazine complaining about this triple roadtrain flying by, overtaking the coach. Gross around 120 tonne with a triple, 270,000lbs if my calculations are correct. Doing 125kph in a KW cabover Big cam 400, 13 speed overdrive was ok with 3 trailers but too Slow for for an Atkinson with an NTC 400 and a Spicer spoiler capable of 140kph. We just used to call him "Super". Then the KW SAR with the KTA 19 Cummins would have you looking at the ground to see if you were still moving as it passed you by with a triple also. Amazing how easily he would come past with 3 40 footers behind him. There used to be single trailers running, one guy claimed 210kph, running East-West and wearing out a set of steer tyres in a trip. It was Easy driving a Western Star, Silver 92, Geared to 158kph, handy to have a bit up your sleeve! Poor buggers in Europe, 80kph a lot of places 😔😪😪

60 mph!! Really these politicians have not the slightest idea about physics involving trucks. It's definitely not efficient. How about enforcing speed limits? I rarely see trucks actually exceeding the posted speed limits, this has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with limiting truck drivers as cars zip around recklessly.

Should be illegal and against the law for drivers to sleep in trucks cause you don't sleep well
