Say Bo... Yeah go Edmonton go.... McDavid can carve his name in hockey legend tonight if things go right for the kid... Live is by far my favourite way to listen to music. A record player don't have the atmosphere a gig does. Especially if it's in a bar or nightclub and I got a beer.... I've literally seen hundreds of rock bands and artists Bo. Of course all of them weren't headliners... I was lucky to have been born in the time frame I was and lucky to live in Canada's musical mecca Toronto.... Cheers....

I got to be honest Bo. I was never a huge fan of studio mixed live albums. I always tried to see the bands that I loved in person. That was the only way that I could hear what they 'actually sounded like' live. I found that a lot of the live albums were doctored up. There were exceptions. Like Ya Ya's and the Allman Bros 'Fillmore'. But you did show some good ones. Great Nirvana story. Fantastic that you saw them early on. Sharing the club with only 25 other people and the band. Outstanding. I did see them once too. I saw them at WFNX's 8th Birthday Party at Axis in Boston. They played with Bullet LaVolta, another Boston band and Smashing Pumpkins. It was packed. But fun. My co-worker/friend Kurt Davis {aka Yukki Gipe} was the singer for Bullet LaVolta. I loved the Airplane with Grace Slick. She was one of my favorite female singers from that era. I am going to give that one a whirl. Informative and enjoyable post Bo. All of your videos are tops~

Yep agree with the Allman's Fillmore and Ya Ya's both just smoked!!! Also really liked The Hendrix "Gypsy's"
Chicago At Carnegie Hall the box set another great one with Kath on fire and the band in great form.....
Chambers Brothers Love Peace and Happiness was a double LP but...Only one was live ..Another bitch"n live LP...
As far as a later one...I really enjoy the Stevie Winwood "Greatest Hits LIve" can't go wrong with that one if....You like
      Winwood...Fly low!

Hello Bo; The Rolling Stones Got Live, was recorded live for the most part. Except for two songs that were studio recordings with overdubbed audience. The Seeds & 13th Floor Elevators live were studio rehearsals with audience sounds dubbed in. Jimi's Band Of Gypsies, 4 shows recorded at the Fillmore East over two nights Dec 31, 1969 & Jan 1, 1970. My husband was at the early show on Dec 31. Like the sports wall Hall of Fame. Take care, Tina & Pat!~

I read somewhere that that James Brown would put live audience tracks on his studio recordings to get that 'live'-feeling he so often was praised for.
So a studio recording without concert place or dates on it might just be a studio recording with live tracks slapped onto it. 😬

@@earheadsix4119 You're welcome. Have both lps and the Columbia CD that contains both. Also, love the Don & the Goodtimes Epic lp. Always surprised me how groups that had top 40 hits that were a bit on the bubblegum side were much more garage band oriented previous to releasing a more mainstream album.

I generally really like live albums, but every once in a while you get a really bad one. still on the hunt for wailers live at the castle, that has to be one of my favorite album covers ever. Some of the Sonics “archival” sort of live albums are really bad
