I am literally a 20 something grad student and I live alone, my tiny kitchen has milk and eggs and that's about it. The only person I need to keep track of is myself (and sometimes I can't even do that) but I'm watching these videos like I'm a mom of 10 lol
Same and I think it is so hard to Look only for oneself because I don't bother to cook a meal often because it is just me. And this is pretty bad because I often eat pretty unhealty. And also I think it is harder to grocery Shop for only one Person because so much stuff comes in bulk. And shops where you can buy single fresh produce are pretty expensive around And for one Person you also have more that goes to trash. So I definitely have to improve there haha
1. Focus on food - Clean out the fridge - Inventory the fridge - Use fridge inventory to plan meals, then grocery shop online - Make breakfast for the whole week - Marinate/prep meat and bake some veggies to use throughout the week 2. Have a Family Council - Go over schedule, chores, homework - Discuss with kids how they will use upcoming free time - Ask kids for any ideas - Put the kids to bed and then finish planning details with your partner - Weekly budget weigh-in
I'm a grandmother who works full time. On the weekend I not only make up food for the week for myself, I also cook extra meals for my son and his wife who have young kids and are both working. It does make such a difference to plan meals ahead.
That is so thoughtful, I'm sure that they really appreciate your help. For the past two years I have been lucky enough to live a 20 minute drive from my parents, we normally have dinner on Wednesday at their house and then Sunday lunch. Covid has made it hard to keep it up, with quarantine we didn't get to see them as much. On Sunday it's mother's Day and my husband is in charge of lunch 😊👍. I hope that your son does the same for you.
This woman makes parenting look so simple! I wish I could manage multiple children, businesses and sustain a happy marriage! Love you Jordan and all your knowledge and tips!
That woman is always such an inspiration for me. She truly is. I only have 1 daughter and all the time feel overwhelmed with feeling that I'm not doing good enough or I could be doing more. Jordan really helps me realize that parenting is challenging no matter how many children you have. What what matters is that we love our children, and strive to give them the best life possible and guide them to be good loving people. ❤
I feel the same I recommend a movie that did help me with that is mom nights is Christian movie there is another movie call the same but not the one in this one are three girls on. I know you are the perfect mother your kid can have you are enogh
I'm not a mom. But I find your tips SO SO SO helpful. Especially when it comes to food planning. It saves SO much time to meal prep on the weekends! Esp for someone who doesn't like cooking lol thank you!
Such great tips! We do this almost every weekend! Clean out the fridge and let the kids pick what they want! Starts the week off with a bang! I just love you and all of your great tips!!
I am such a huge fan of your channel! So cool to see that you watch videos that I enjoy also! I saw your comment and it made me geek out a little bit haha 😂
Sweet JORDAN!! You my dear are a force of nature☺. I totally love your personality and am so PROUD of how you and hubby put your beautiful children first in your lives. I am a Nana of a teen boy and have used your ideas for 3 yrs now.. It has been sooo helpful for our lives in adjusting school and home. (Especially during remote school year) wow! What an adventure for us while teaching him at home☺such a blessing for me to see his blooming mind at success! You are an inspiration to many! We adore you all and understand your schedules are family also. You will reach your goal too from your recent move and settle...to gain stride...as many will agree ..we are patient and kind and wish you the best endeavors! Put GOD in your baby steps as you push forward to settle and remain healthy. We wish you much Love, Hugs, Laughter, and BLESSINGS!!🙏 always your on your team!☺👍✌
My four kids are 29-34 and I’m of the generation that Dads worked and moms did everything. I did it with no help, my parents were deceased, and I raised four self sufficient hard working great kids!
Because I was a single mom, I found my kids did not have that large learning curve when they left home. They knew how to sort and wash laundry, how to batch cook, why you need to budget etc.
Same! And I wouldn't have changed it for anything! You children are just a bit younger than mine. I honestly believe that the reason my husband was able to go from working in a poultry factory to owning half of a computer software company was because he was able to focus 100% on improving his work skills and changing jobs when the opportunity for him to move up occurred! And I was able to be at home for our kids 24/7! In fact, I will go as far as to say that teenagers need a mother in the house far more than a preschooler does!
We have "family meeting" on sundays. Our kids are so sweet, they get to decide the days they want to take quick showers and when they want to get longer bathes or sauna time. 🥰
I've been doing 2 week shopping and planning for the past year. First week is fresh and second week is freezer (or items that we prepped double and can use the following week). Gives you a bigger budget to buy bulk with.
For anyone who works on the weekends like me, I am a cook and have Monday and Tuesday off, this all still applies. Just adjust the days. I work and go to school. I have three dogs and family to cook meals for. I am paperless, but if you use paper Jordan’s planner and print outs help A LOT. Putting forethought into planning the week helps me save time throughout the rest of the week.
Planning a menu for the week has been so great for our family. Not only can I get my groceries and avoid last minute trips to the store but I don’t hear “what’s for dinner” a million times a day! Also chore charts have been great especially since we are ALL home during CoVid!
I work at Target, and the people working grocery pickup, especially big orders, would really appreciate tips! They're timed, picking your groceries, bagging it, delivering it to your car in all types of inclement weather. Just sharing, they are always the most stressed out department in the store, and yes, they can accept tips for their service! 🙃
I think it's amazing what you teach your children at such a young age, especially time management. Your videos have been so helpful to me and I'm sure others who didn't have the same great examples growing up.
Hey Jordan, I remember a time in my life when my kids were little & there wasn't much help too many things to do & not enough time to take care of myself everything else & everyone else was more important eventually it all caught up with me & I was left exhausted. Much love to you and the family but please slow down, relax & never be to proud to ask for help. At the end of the day we will be a better person for our family if we take care of ourselves. xx Sometimes the over scheduling & over planning is we feel so out of control in our lives it's actually anxiety showing up in other ways which is why we schedule etc to gain control. Hope I didn't offend you or any one else this is not my intention, it's just someone else that has been there before. We need to be organised but not to the extent that we haven't got time to enjoy life.
Yayyyyyyy for more weekly videos!!!!!! Can never get enough.... you’re a ninja and I’ve basically at 28 Learned how to be much more of an adult from you. Better late than never. I’m so grateful.
I love the idea of the family council.on Sunday night's. I think sometimes the person staying home or doing the main child care can feel a little alone and likewise our partners feel the same. I think this would make you feel like you are in it together. It is a great idea 🙂
I'm in college and I plan my weeks even if I don't have classes to attend. My semester ended today with my last exam but that does not mean I stopped planning my week. I like ticking boxes or being able to cross things off a list (it gives me a sense of gratification) so each Sunday (or Saturday) I sit down and make a to-do list of each day. Of the two columns in my planner, I like to dedicate my left column to class times, appointments, and tests. On the right is where I will put the things I check off: assignments, modules, reviews, studying, notetaking etc. Even though my semester is done, I find it really helpful to stay productive and get things done. For example, I need to write quite a few scholarship essays, I want to keep my math skills and french skills up to scratch, and I want to complete an online ground school program. I find it helpful to plan what task you want to do each day BEFORE the day comes because more often than not, a day comes and you see nothing in your planner and so nothing is what you end up doing even though you have all these things you want to do. Basically, the two main things that help me stay on track are to plan my day before the day and to make a to-do list in your planner with things you can tick off.
I think it's so good that you have a list/planner especially when it comes to education. You sound like a focused and driven person and I'm sure you will go far in life with what you want to do and get done what needs to be done.
I believe the only way to put up with so many kids and husband and personal life all together needs planning! You cannot live without a plan! Thanks for sharing!🌸
I can vouch for these systems because I use them myself already! They have made a world of difference and really reduced my stress levels. Way to go, Jordan, for sharing such great ideas!
I love your family! Always impressed by your eight child juggle. I have three and a job and I CANNOT SAY how much better you have made my house run. Thank you for being a professional mother. It is such a full time job by itself. Super mom!
Jordan I freakin love you. I appreciate your wife and mom training so much idk what I would do with out your influence bless you and your family forever!
Once again, you nailed it! Thank you, Jordan, for your ideas and inspiration! I'm an empty nester, but I love your ideas for me, and I pass them on to my kids, to help make their lives easier. YOU ROCK, girlfriend!
Love these tips, I do try to meal plan, grocery shop and batch cook for the week but sometimes I get lazy and don’t get all of it done during the weekend. One tip I will say is don’t try to meal plan, grocery shop AND batch cook/cook dinner all on the same day. I like to reward myself with a nice takeout or dinner out (pre-Covid) when I do get my meal plan and grocery shopping done that day, typically on Sat.
Yessss! I really love these tips, especially the family meeting and one on one with your spouse! I'm really nervous about my husband coming home from a business trip, because I have changed my way of running the household this trip and I feel like this is going to be a perfect way to get us back into working together! Weight off shoulders! Thank you!!
What an awesome video. Wish I would have discovered you when my kids were young. They are all grown up now and on their own, but I still incorporate your ideas in my life where it fits. ie. Plan your week with your spouse. Keep the ideas coming. Very much appreciated.
I have been doing this for years and years. It’s a great system. There have been times when I didn’t make time for this, and it really makes a difference. I add laundry/outfits to my weekend list. Make sure laundry is caught up. Check the weather, plan outfits so there isn’t any last minute panic.
Yes, yes, yes! Love doing a fridge cleanout to prepare for the week as it helps the following weekly shop be so much more efficient! Pizza night is also excellent to throw on the leftovers in the fridge! Thanks so much for the great tips!
It's such a great feeling to clean out the leftover food in the fridge and see it get used up!! I have learned so much about meal planning and saving on groceries from you.
for the past 20 years, I've been doing my ``chores``in the evening during the week because I refuse to spend my week-end doing boring stuff ! The only exception is meal prep I do on sunday morning. I work 37 hours / week and I need my week-end to be calm or fun, depending of my mood and energy. Work great for me this way. The thing is to find YOUR perfect routine.
Thanks for the motivation! I have my shopping list made, drinking a cup of coffee then heading to Walmart. But I watched this vid (w/coffee) and took a break to empty left-overs and take the trash to curb. We try hard not to waste food, but not so much guilt tossing the last of dishes that were made from freezer 'bits and bites/leftovers' to start with. Now I have a big space in my fridge and I'm ready to shop.
Every time you say "I have a planner you can buy, or you can download the free printable for X part of the planner" I appreciate you more! Living outside of the States, it's so wonderful that you still provide those of us who can't afford to purchase these planners (no matter how much we want them!) access for free.
Ever since I did budget boot camp last spring. Every Friday my fiancé and I do a budget meeting. It’s been amazing for keeping track of everything. I need to include some of your tips on planning the week together. Great video!
When my grocery store opened online shopping omg game.changer for us. learning to shop online and get delivered stopped impulse shopping that is my biggest weakness! Plus I can check the fridge freezer and cupboards and meal plan what we have first then add.
I try do prep day before grocery shopping, veggie drawer once week. Found Bobs Red Mill rolled oats about two small hands full milk dried fruits spices chia great option cheaper than breakfast bars at store.
I'm getting back into the Sunday meal prep routine-- I feel like the craziness from a pandemic wrecked all my healthy habits! Feels good to be taking control again. Thanks for the video Jordan!!
I already follow your food hacks, but with a twist: I do my meal planning and online grocery buying on Wednesday morning because that's when our sales start. I have had the best luck all through quarantine at actually getting the items I'm ordering and not a strange substitution by having my order picked at the beginning of Wednesday. (When I first did it I planned on Tuesday afternoon/evening and then did a quick scan of the sales flyer on Wednesday morning and placed the order. It's been a year now so I can do it all on Wednesday morning.)
I haven’t watched one of your videos in a while- I love your videos and how you put things together and how you explain it👏🏻 So helpful and simple 🤩 Thank you for sharing!
My husband just left out of state for work for 6 months and we have 3 young children. I’ve been struggling to get a schedule and less chaos. This weekend I’m attempting to catch up on laundry, make cookies and some bread and pre-plan my oldest kiddos TeeBall game snacks for her team.
@@jordanpagecompany so hard! Our youngest is 3 months so she takes a lot of my time during the day. I love watching your videos, they help give me ideas to use my time better so I’m not running around like a chicken with my head cut off
I update my inventory on Wednesday, get Groceries on Thursday (that's when the stores in my area restock) fresh 🍓🍑🍒 and meal prep on either Saturday or Sunday depending on Homework to be completed. Family Council so I will give that a try. Wish me luck 🙏 🤞
Great stuff! 😃 I work on weekends alot too so fitting things in on weekends can be a challenge, but i think planning a time slot to do the fridge etc any day can really help ❤️
I used to make a fruit salad like that for pot lucks when I was single. Thank you for the reminder - I think my kid will LOVE that! Also, I do my leftover night ( and fridge clean out) the night before they pick up the trash. It has worked well for us, but I don't have as many kids as you!
I do plan my meals out through the week but I can definitely be better about using what I already have!! I love the shop online tip I impulse buy SO much while in store!!!!!
So many helpful tips and strategies here; thank you! One thing I found helpful for me is to schedule all my phone calls on one day. Usually I block schedule them on Tuesday mornings. I dread all those piecemeal calls during the week since I’m just not a phone person.
Man, girl, you are ORGANIZED, even with a super-lovey-puppy slobbering your hair! 😂 Hey, when you have a minute (what’s that? 🤔 😂), would you consider making a video on how you stayed organized as you moved? Tips that made moving easier? My family and I are going to move pretty soon. I’ve only got three boys, ages 14, 12, and 8, but we have 8 cats, which is like having 8 toddlers, LOL! 😹 Anyways, any moving tips to save a mom’s sanity would be awesome! God bless you! 💕
Something I was not aware of until recently is that some walmarts accept EBT for grocery pickup. My local aldis uses instacart and we can use EBT there as well. I didnt find out about that until we were on quarantine for a month due to Covid.
As a disabled person, I've been using grocery pickup long before the pandemic. (1) I don't have to brave the crowds. (2) and I can stick to my budget because I'm not shopping when I'm hungry! lol TIP: put on the list the SMALLEST available quantity/jar/bag. Either you'll get what you ask for, or they'll substitute UP but charge you the same. ;)
Thanks for all these helpful videos. I’ve done so much better with prepping food, paying my debt off and conscious spending since I’ve followed - but made the most improvement since the last year. Really paying the debt off hardcore for the last few months. Work just closed down for a month due to C19. I was more upset that I wouldn’t be able to put as much money on my debt as I would working. It’ll get paid off this year. I know it will 💪🏼 I find it hard to want to bulk cook when I’m not working though. I guess I’m used to making microwave friendly meals for work. When I’m at home I just cook whatever makes me happy and don’t have to worry about leftovers. It’ll be a balance finding a happy medium between the two as I don’t want to be cooking daily like I did last year at this time.
I am going to order that budget planner. I lost my job due to Covid. My income has decreased significantly. I need to get it in order and under control. Thank you Jordan 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I need a day between the week and the weekend called Prepday
Wouldn't that be incredible?!
💯
Could you imagine 💭 that would be great !!

Totally agree

Yes, yes, yes! Love doing a fridge cleanout to prepare for the week as it helps the following weekly shop be so much more efficient! Pizza night is also excellent to throw on the leftovers in the fridge! Thanks so much for the great tips!
Thanks for making videos again, I've missed hearing your voice and ideas!
It's such a great feeling to clean out the leftover food in the fridge and see it get used up!! I have learned so much about meal planning and saving on groceries from you.
You’re the best Miss Jordan!
A great mom/wife..more importantly your real, raw and so realistic in all that you do! Thank you!!! 👏🏽🙏🏼
for the past 20 years, I've been doing my ``chores``in the evening during the week because I refuse to spend my week-end doing boring stuff ! The only exception is meal prep I do on sunday morning. I work 37 hours / week and I need my week-end to be calm or fun, depending of my mood and energy. Work great for me this way. The thing is to find YOUR perfect routine.
Love it. For those of us who have been following you on RUclips for a long time this video was a great way to get us back on track and to refocus 🙂
I agree, grocery pickup saves you money! Less impulse buys and you can remove things easily from your cart to stay within budget!
You're such a good mama 🥲🥰
Mom of four here. I really appreciate all of your tips! I use so many of them!
You are awesome Jordan!! Thank you 🙏
Praise the Lord for your Gifts! I adore “The Fam”. Puppy 🐶 is so cute!
Who would give this a thumbs down? 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙄 Jordan you amazing! 🧡🙏🏼 Jordan has great tips! Try it! 😊
Grocery delivery is work changing it’s the only thing that keeps us on budget
I loved the one-hand cooking. I can relate.
Every one of your videos I always learn something I can use!
Wow Bubba did a great job helping Priya at the end.. awesome Dad!!😊
Alot of restaurants add small amount of pancake mix to their egg mixture. It makes them all fluffy and yummy! Try it makes a nice addition.
Trying how to apply these tips in a household that doesn’t have the normal M-F work week and spouses with differing schedules. But love the ideas!
No excuses 😊 we love your content.
I'm so happy that you said that you're trying to do wekly videos!! Thank you, i've missed you, i love your contents!
I haven’t watched one of your videos in a while- I love your videos and how you put things together and how you explain it👏🏻 So helpful and simple 🤩 Thank you for sharing!
Yes! Jordan's back!
Hope you like this video!
@@jordanpagecompany Yes, I did and always do. I have to put meal planning into practice. Especially dinner.
My husband just left out of state for work for 6 months and we have 3 young children. I’ve been struggling to get a schedule and less chaos. This weekend I’m attempting to catch up on laundry, make cookies and some bread and pre-plan my oldest kiddos TeeBall game snacks for her team.
Real mom real solutions has an awesome video on laundry check it out I was always so sad about my laundry and now I’m always caught up 😅
You got this 💪🏽 you’ll do a great job x
Hang in there! Solo parenting is no joke.
@@jordanpagecompany so hard! Our youngest is 3 months so she takes a lot of my time during the day. I love watching your videos, they help give me ideas to use my time better so I’m not running around like a chicken with my head cut off
@@theallisonwright thank you for the suggestion, I’ll go check it out! I’ll take all the help I can get 😂
Yay! Another video!!! (Jordan, you don't know who much I love your videos!!!!!!!)
Wow look 900 k! Almost a million!! 😁😁😁
I thought she had a million?
I LOL’d at the daughter picking her nose and eating it during the family meeting. Just keeping it real!! Love this fam!
i watch your videos and take mental notes for someday when i have kids 😂 won’t be for many more years but i love feeling prepared
Love prepping breakfast on the weekend
Having a day a rest might be something to schedule in.
Your puppy is adorable! That breed is so good with children 💕😍
Thanks for the motivation!
Goin to work on the fridge now!! Thanks Jordan ❤️❤️❤️
I do plan my meals out through the week but I can definitely be better about using what I already have!! I love the shop online tip I impulse buy SO much while in store!!!!!
Girl, watching you go through all this, I’m already exhausted. LOL.
I pay for W+. It has paid for itself. Definitely a large family lifesaver!
I love you
I have been watching you for years and I usely get sick of people within a year. But nope still love you
I really need to do this, the kitchen is where you could save the most
So many helpful tips and strategies here; thank you!
Either you'll get what you ask for, or they'll substitute UP but charge you the same. ;)
Brilliant and beautiful as always! Your family is blessed!!!
Love these tips! I have our fridge inside and a freezer outside and need to start inventory check for sure to get it all used
Just bought my budget planner and I’m in need of control in this area! Appreciate your channel so much
You got this!
I really like the no-makeup look on you :)
I love the Family Council idea! Could you do a separate video to demonstrate and give us some bullet points?
Thanks for all these helpful videos. I’ve done so much better with prepping food, paying my debt off and conscious spending since I’ve followed - but made the most improvement since the last year. Really paying the debt off hardcore for the last few months. Work just closed down for a month due to C19. I was more upset that I wouldn’t be able to put as much money on my debt as I would working. It’ll get paid off this year. I know it will 💪🏼
I find it hard to want to bulk cook when I’m not working though.
