- Here is Craig's last Daily Show. Richard Lewis is the guest. Stephen Colbert is the reporter. Craig then signs off for good.
From Dec. 17, 1998. UPDATE: CBS/Viacom claimed a copyright on this video and deleted all but this short piece at the beginning. Наука
Kilborn is a weird case. He went from a nobody, to ESPN to the daily show for 2 years, then did The Late Late Show for 6 years. Then just disappeared
He had his own talk show on Fox and did some acting, but dropped off.
@@therainmakerinsider He will always, only, ever be "Jerry" from The Benchwarmers, to me.
Craig was the Daily Show of my childhood. Heck, Comedy Central from the mid/late 90s was even more of my childhood. Massive blocks of old SNL, Upright Citizens Brigade, and replays of Andy Kaufman documentaries almost every other day. Oh, and Harland Williams' "canned ham" special where he interviews the cast of There's Something About Mary seemed to play all the time. It was a fun time 💛
You just flooded my brain with so many good memories
KITH Kids In The Hall in those blocks too!
@r33mote Oh absolutely! I remember there would be 2 back to back episodes every day when I got home from school. To this day Dave Foley saying "Oooh, I'm an *axe* murderer." is maybe the funniest lines I've ever heard.
your childhood? Oh, come on. Kilborn was barely on TDS for 2 years. 😂
@@VideoAmericanStyle and I was a child during those years... you're weird
I was pissed when he left.
Sucks to see that this upload got taken down by Viacom, thank you for sharing regardless. :)
Thanks, I appreciate your reply. I guess Paramount+ wants to put everything they own into streaming.
What a great compare. Jon Stewart had some big shoes to fill. Well done Craig Kilborn. Where are you now?
Good question, I was wondering that myself, guess he did a short-lived show in the early 2010s..
nowhere. Same place all the lucky, talentless hacks go.
@@bboooobbyy Really!? If he's talentless and lucky, then what does that make all of the horrible late night talk show hosts who we have to suffer through nowadays?
He posts regularly on Instagram, he’s doing great it seems
Craig Kilborn is pretty amazing. You know, Craig Kilborn was one of the first late night talk show hosts I've watched when I was younger. Don't you just love his work?
Fun fact: Beth Littleford, the correspondent at the end, played the mom on Dog With a Blog
Kilborn and Colbert did more than moved from cable TV to broadcast TV. They moved to CBS LATE NIGHT! Kilborn replaced Tom Snyder on the Late Late Show, which came on after Letterman. Kilborn lasted from 1999 until 2004. As for Colbert, he replaced Letterman on the Late Show in 2015.
Any chance someone has some more episodes from 1998? The penultimate Kilbourn episode has Jon Stewart in it.
Nobody has that episode up on YT? I'll see what I can do about that.
The episode with Jon Stewart on it is on YT now. Just uploaded it now to this channel.
@@carvcom2 where is the episode with Jon Stewart
This was the " when mewz breaks, we fix it " time
thanks for uploading this, do you have any more full kilborn episodes? the guide to home video used to be on here, but it looks like it's gone
I had a few posted years ago but Viacom removed them.
@@carvcom2 so the daily show had craig as a host before Stewart? Forgive me, i was locked up then, had no idea.
@@adamfrbs9259 yes, it was awesome and didn't push a bs agenda
@@chrismartin956 man i missed alot.
Woah!!!
Please upload the second to last episode (with Jon Stewart appearance) to the internet archive
20:33 what song is that?
Anyone know the song that he Dance, Dance, Danced to?
"Set Me Free Again" by Richard Cottle.
@@somethingwithmusic9520 thank you!
Dec 17, 1998 was my 21st bday.
Comedy Central 🇺🇲
Viacom "Inc."
Pre-coronavirus stuff.😎
Viacom Doesn’t want you to know how good the daily show was.
Viacom just announced Comedy Central, under ViacomCBS Entertainment & Youth Group president Chris McCarthy, has charted a new course for the cable network. The cabler's new strategy focuses on three areas of content: adult animation, topical series (The Daily Show) and comedic made-for-TV feature films.
No more Tosh , drunk history or any other shows accept the Daily shit Show
There's no good comedy in a communist society.
Back when The Daily Show was good and not as political as it is now. Craig Kilborn put that show on the map, and because of that, he was able to host The Late Late Show on CBS in 1999. That is a true success story right there. Now, I have an idea. Let's make a petition to get Comedy Central to acknowledge Craig Kilborn as the first host of The Daily Show online. I mean, come on. In 2021, The Daily Show will celebrate 25 years on the air. I think that it's time for everyone to know the truth.
i don’t see why something being political is necessarily a bad thing. politics are important and whether people like it or not, its a part of almost every aspect of our lives. but it’s overwhelming and frustrating and jon’s daily show helped people cope with the absurdity of it all by making light of it. craig was a fine host but personally i think jon took TDS in a direction that was way more relevant and important to society. idk if you believe this so don’t take it too personally but it feels like most of the people who complain about TDS becoming more political are only upset about it bc they don’t agree with jon’s politics in particular
@@baldvee Here's the thing. Jon Stewart did a good job on The Daily Show, and so did Craig Kilborn. Of course, with the both of them, we were getting a balance of everything, and The Daily Show wasn't biased. Now, with Trevor Noah on board, and with everyone being easily offended now, The Daily Show started being one-sided. I like Kilborn's version of the show, and I like Stewart's version of the show, too. It's Noah's version of the show that scares me. Does that make any sense?
@@KungEMuller Oh yeah that makes sense! I’m not a huge fan of Noah as a host either. Aside from the fact that I think he’s a lot more about defending party over principles, I don’t think the format really suits him at all. I gave him a chance but stopped watching pretty quickly. Seems like we’re in agreement here and I just misinterpreted your comment haha sorry about that
@@baldvee It's okay. It happens. It's not just The Daily Show, though. Basically every late night talk show is the same thing now. You either support a principle or a party, but if you support a principle, then you're going to be fired very quickly. That's basically what late night TV has become. That's not right!
@@KungEMuller agreed. i really can’t stand most late night hosts anymore besides conan, even colbert who i used to love i can barely watch now. i’m no fan of trump and i think he’s insane but i can only take so many “silly hair tiny hand orange man bad” jokes before getting sick of it. it’s all so repetitive now. i’m hoping that when stewart comes back with his new show it’ll bring something more entertaining and original to the table again
Craig was easily the best host. Jon Stewart was overrated.
Liked him then, his current selfie phase he’s going through on Instagram atm, is cringe as fuck.
You mean like every single person on instagram?
He was the best, then Stewart, then it's just a joke.
Kilborn look a bit like Conan
This was a horrible last episode his last episode of The Late Late Show was 10 times better.
Kilborn is working in a field more suited to his talent level... obscurity. A good place for him.
Bullseye.
Why all the bias? Kilborn was edgy and hilarious. But he's gotten old like everyone. That was nearly 30 years ago.
