My personal experience in explaining a concept/ goal:
    1) always be considering the other person hasn't even begun considering your/my train thought.
    2) being concise and explain the simple points, then you can explain the details.
    3) Remember: Yes and No are also answers, start with that and then, as for point 2, deepen the concept you want to explain.
    4) how, who, where, when and why , if possible, all need to be clear.
    5) be short, 30 sec at the time, let the other interact, even if is not responding directly, ask if there are any questions...then continue.
In short if you can supply the other with some value, then you will be listened to, the approach is important because people are different.

You’re 100% on with this one. Know your audience whether it is 1 or 100, this will help you know how deep you can go. Everything is geared to the takeaway, the points are tied directly to the takeaway and the points are benefits (features tell, benefits sell). It’s ok to lead with the takeaway, read the audience, if there is interest bring up the benefits. Stay shallow to start don’t deep dive unless directly encouraged. Remember that 99.9% of the people will not know as much as you do about the information.

Otherwise, for a reader following any ideas in my writing will seem for them like a journey through a jungle for long-lost treasure with nothing but a machete and a 16th century map. I am always shocked at how clear and concise my husband's writing is with very little time spent out in the "real world" with the ideas.

-Is there anything that they know intuitively (that I didn't need to explain)?
-Will the conclusion of the essay change something in their life? (e.g. convince an english teacher that you doubt 0! actually equals to 1 and they will wake up the next day living exactly the same way as they would if they hadn't heard that)

In times like now things are being split into black or white and you say one thing that slightly leans one way you are grouped with that side and they will just ignore you as if you are wrong.

To me, I'm pretty sure no one speaks to me because I'm intimidating and I'm introverted. they also think I'm rude because I'm introverted?? I respect that they're leaving me alone, but the reason is sloppy. But if they don't wanna speak to me, I'm fine.

Sounds like preferring extraverted judging communication styles to introverted judging. I guess I can agree that focused J- communication like this has lots of uses, but doesn't P style communication have a place too?

So what if you start with the end in but then you notice people have no idea how you reached that conclusion so you start breaking it down and end up with different analogies trying to bring a point across?
How do you steucture it more properly as an ne dom blast laster? Should you write down bullet points that build up the pattern before hand? But I often have the problem that I can't properly and precisely formulate so I just end up making many analogies for the bukket point cause I feel like noone gets what I'm trying to say.
    Advice is very much appreciated.

Think "what's the takeaway" and what are 3 supporting facts to backup that takeaway. - This is a great place to start.

Yeah, but if you can't explain the wonderful nuance, complexity, and unknowns, what's the point in the first place? I don't want people leaving with a takeaway, I want them to leave with ideas. So yeah, some people won't listen, but whatever.

  • @nora_8080
    @nora_8080 3 года назад

Example of the second reason: She knew several reasons why people don't listen but only gave two major ones.
There is one more thing I think is very important though: Ni and Si doms nitpick each information they get before they store it in memory, and because they are I...J types, they won't be open to rediscuss problems they already have the answers for.
Different from Ne and Se doms, Ni and Si doesn't really doubt what they know, so if you want them to consider you idea, you can't just blast it and have THEM do the work of comparing it to their solution and see which one is better because that is not going to happen. You will have to start with why you think their conclusion is incorrect, bring out the misconceptions they have or missing information that they don't have, THEN introduce your alternative.
For God's sake we are not close minded, if anyone can discover for a couple of hours inconsistencies in my worldview that I've spent years to perfect, I am listening to whatever that person has to say. Even if they are wrong too, they still have my respect.
