One thing is certain - you can never get bored of the landscape when driving around California. It has the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen , and I am sure that the road nomad agree with me .
I remember climbing the Hollywood sign in the summer of 1978 and picking up all the unbroken light bulbs i could find from the original 1920s sign and shipped them back to Canada, 4 months later Alice Cooper and a few other celebrities were each assigned to have a Letter fixed on the sign which was a mess when i was there, sheet metal scattered around on the ground and pieces dangling off the sign. Boy what fun Calif was in the 1970s & 80s.
Hiya, dearest cousin!! Lol. It's me,your cousin Memo's wife! Australian community travels told me about your channel. So,I came by to show ya some support! What a great channel that you've got here! Big thumbs up 👍👍 omg, love your soothing voice. Besitos y brasos. Xoxo Jess
Robert, we thoroughly enjoy living vicariously through your videos of the Southwest. As New Yorkers, we also enjoyed your trip up our way and on into Maine. We have a suggestion: we are currently camped in our trailer at Red Point Provincial Park on Prince Edward Island, Canada and we really urge you to see this part of the world, too. The Maritimes have great scenery, great campsites great Maritime music and great food. We know that last item on the list is important to you!
Another great video. I appreciate your referring to your "Madrina" ...it shook me. Many years since I have heard that word..takes me back..thank you Robert.
Yes, Robert it never rains in southern California it pours 😀 Happy Mother's Day to your mom ,mine is in heaven. Excellent as usual your videos looking forward to Bakersfield and other places .
The rolling hills you featured, is why California is called the golden state. Not the gold, but the golden rolling hills your Spanish ancestors found while riding, walking through California. My French wife, born of Spanish and Algerian ancestors is fluent in French (of Course) Spanish, and used to be OK in Catalan until her grandparents died.
OMG! You like Star Trek! That makes us family! Woohoo! They could’ve been filming the scenes where Picard visits Raffi in the new Star Trek Picard series! EXCELLENT! Nice visit Robert!
When I lived in Long Beach CA I always thought the western ocean- beach sunsets were the best. Love seeing all of my locations out there. Thanks for your reading my comments on your live chat recently. I'm the Hugh Haefner famous name guy. That's my real name and Hef acknowledged my name, I have an " a" in last name but nobody notices and it's just a name I've had to put up with. I am looking forward to your Great Lakes travel you said you may do this summer. Funny, you know when you have a song in your head that you can't stop? That's called an ear worm. And occasionally after watching your videos, I can't get the riding with my RV song out of my head! You've touched people in a lot of different ways than you probably ever imagined. That's epic!
I grew up in Southern California and know these places you are exploring on your visit. It rains a lot in Winter and not so much in the Summer in CA. I enjoyed seeing a lot of the places I used to frequent when we lived in CA. Much different than FL and even AZ! By law (Griffith's deed restrictions) the city of L.A. cannot charge admission to the Observatory so they charge to park anywhere close to it. Many hike up from Ferndale on the Western Ave. side of the park instead of the Vermont end.
Loved the road that played music!! WoW! This has been an exciting adventure to share with you!! I can't wait for more of the adventure!!! Thank you so much! PJ
Welcome Robert to my beautiful Southern California 💙! I live close to Disneyland and have driven the coastal route up to see friends in San Jose many times.... always so picturesque! Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
Greeting from Adelaide Australia watching all your the west trip love your narration Robert.Love my time visiting my relatives in Rio Rancho NM and seeing Santa Fe. Been to Hollywood as well very nice in some parts
We just went to Vasquez Rock yesterday, pretty cool spot we climbed all the way to the top of the rocks amazing view, well video coming soon. Another great video Robert.
Robert, I was just in San Francisco today as my kids & I took my wife for mothers day.....cant wait till you get up here to northern California, I have only been living in California for 6 months via Virginia beach Virginia but I still dont understand why Los Angeles & Hollywood etc gets more praise than San Francisco, in my opinion San Francisco is unlike ANY other city in the United states with its landscape & attractions.....make sure you devote at least 5 days just for San Francisco alone.....since we been here in Stockton California we have made the 1 hour 20 minute visit to San Francisco like 5 times....just to much to see in 1 weekend... today we finally took a drive over the Golden gate bridge & then we went to Golden gate park....again we were unprepared & didnt know how mesmerizing the golden gate bridge & park are BUT next time we come we gotta do bike rides or walk across the golden gate. San Francisco is just magical & I actually considered San Francisco as a place that i never desired to see until we went for the first time 5 months ago....Only NewYork city can compare to San Francisco
Waze did the same thing to me getting out of Hollywood & Griffin Park. At least it kept me moving taking backstreets in neighborhoods which were nice to see too! The gold coastline is beautiful from Griffin Observatory as well as the clear non-hazy view of downtown LA.
Thankyou Robert for the wonderful videos you keep putting out. Thank you for sharing. It's nice to see you are doing great. Say hi to your mom for us and to your wonderful wife and son.....Take care. Keep on trucking...Nice truck by the way. We r watching...Carolyn & Colin Hogarth
"We're praying for rain in California, so the grapes will grow and we can have more wine" Dean Martin....also Dean had stock in Capitol Records....that's where he recorded most of his songs. And his #1 hit in 1965 'Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime'
Robert, speaking of hikes... the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which starts at the Mexico boarder in Campo, CA - and traverses California, Oregon and Washington - all the way to the Canadian boarder is adjacent to where you began your hike up Vazquez Rocks. The entire trail is 2650 miles in total. Most likely, you actually hiked on a small portion of the PCT! About 3000 hikers from all over the World get permits to attempt to complete a Thur-Hike of full trail each year. However, the vast majority bail out for various reasons. Oh, the music road in Lancaster was pretty too. Enjoyed watching your travels to SoCal.
I think I saw some rocks that they heated with their phazers to stay warm in an episode! Great video Robert! Sure missing the Pelicans though, I had to go back start watching old videos!
Great video, Robert! I'm glad the sunsets were so pretty for you and the hills were actually green while you were here! It was a pretty wet winter. If I may suggest, the next time you come to California, whenever that is, be sure to drive north on hwy 395 (The El Camino Sierra) through the Owens Valley, up to Mammoth, June Lake, Mono Lake and Bridgeport. It is simply stunning up there! A stop for a couple nights at Boulder Creek RV just before Lone Pine will allow you to check out the Alabama Hills where so many western movies (and Tremors 1, lol!) were filmed as well as going up to Whitney Portal. Mahogany Meats in Bishop has the best beef jerky out here! Take the June Lake loop then check out Mono Lake. If you are into engineering marvels, a trip up Tioga Pass to the east gates of Yosemite then back down, it will take your breath away! Bridgeport is a really neat old town in a beautiful valley. Leave the camper there and head back and out to Bodie Ghost Town for a trip back in time. Then can continue north to Reno, check out Tahoe and head east on I-80 as needed, or keep going north to the PNW!!
Just watching you prepare your lunch and kind of remember you saying so time ago you were going to have a cooking channel .love the vlogs Robert that lunch looks amazing
Awesome looking spaghetti! Next time, just add a few cups of chicken or veggie stock to your sauce, bring it to a boil, then add your pasta, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and let it cook til your pasta is done.
I was in Hollywood in 2012. 2 weeks vacation and my first time in USA. Hopefully not the last. It was amazing. We stayed at a motel called Hollywood Plaza Inn only 7 minutes walk from Vax museum and Kodak teater. Geir from Trondheim in Norway.
I work in Valencia and live close by, all of this video was familiar! Going to Vaquez Rocks soon with a group outing. Been close to the Griffith Observatory, but never been. But I have been to the Greek Theater for a few concerts which is close to G.O. Griffith Park is cool to visit. Wish you would have done a meetup last January here, but you probably didnt have the time. Maybe next time? Looking forward to the hot springs as I saw that live video.
Kirk battles the Gorn! And then Big Big Bang Theory filmed there as well. It looks like Radiator Springs from the Disney movie, Cars. I guess that's where the artists did some sketching. Isn't the next line to that never rains in southern California, baby it pours man it pours? Beautiful sunset! On the musical road, you have to do the exact speed limit to correctly heat the song. -ClaraLucia from Zephyrhills, Florida
Try with this simply recipe: tomato, a little bit of garlic, olive oil and basil. Then boil the water and put spaghetti for eight minutes. Mixed all, add parmesan cheese or pecorino cheese and enjoy. A great ☀️ from Italy. Remember: few ingredients are better
As usual, great travel documentary and cinematography skills Robert! Thanks! You should see if you could market your series as a video travel guide for purchase such as "The best of Southern Florida" or " Gorgeous off beaten paths of Northern California...."Best Touristy Stops of Texas" ..."The Best Scenic Drives of the Northwest" etc....you get the idea. I think you'd do great at something like that and see if a travel type channel or PBS would be interested...hey, they have Rick Steve's Europe on PBS and your style is similar and just as great.
Just watched 2 vids from another rv channel - wow - they complain about everything. Glad I found your channel when I did. Life isn't perfect and never will be.
Great VLog I was at Vasquez Rocks, the day before Easter, to watch The Passion Play "A Living Hope" . It was fantastic! I am staying at the Thousand Trails Campground in Soledad Canyon The video you got at the Observatory was really, really good. . Safe travels
I 💖💖💖💖💖💖 California, before I loaded lettuces and spinach from California to Florida by I- 5 ,I-8 and I-10 , I- 75 to Walmart. California is a beatiful country.
I agree,my wife & I say the same thing as we are out & about sometimes....we only been here in California for 6 months but it's really pretty & I gotta say California really shines on sunny days...my wife asked when do I wanna move back to the eastcoast & I told her I want to in a few years but I will miss beautiful California & she agreed.....even though it's crazy expensive here its alot to do in California.
Vasquez Rocks was a cool spot! You didn't sing the next part of the song. It never rains in southern California, but it pours, man it pours! Good video, Robert.
As interesting as LA is, from the viewpoint from a fellow who was born in in 1946 at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, and a SM native. I left . Traffic and people are impossible. I grew up with movie people. Ry Cooder was one year behind me in HS. Retired and moved to the Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage area.. Now own a Lance 2285 Trailer.
Robert..i really enjoy you're videos , wow and you're so natural , i think you're kinda funny 2 🤣 i'm enjoying the video where movie locations took place (;

Thanks for this vid! It's always been a childhood dream of mine to see Hollywood and the rest of the places in USA.
You know about GTAV?! That's awesome!

Flintstones movie filmed here too. There's a winery right behind these mountains. Sorry you missed it

Got very fond memories while you were driving thru the northeastern side of LA, I stopped at that lake view stop near Lancaster.
I wish we had a Publix in Southern California ❤

I'm going back in July for VidCon so maybe there will be a meetup
Hopefully it wont be too hot then

Always wonderful!
Really loved this one! Thank you....
Another awesome video, but you’re long overdue for another visit here in San Francisco!
I'm going to be close in the summer
As interesting as LA is, from the viewpoint from a fellow who was born in in 1946 at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, and a SM native. I left . Traffic and people are impossible. I grew up with movie people. Ry Cooder was one year behind me in HS.
Retired and moved to the Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage area..
Now own a Lance 2285 Trailer.
Robert..i really enjoy you're videos , wow and you're so natural , i think you're kinda funny 2 🤣 i'm enjoying the video where movie locations took place (;
$55/ night. Wow!! Too bad you had to drive away from your park to get a nice view. Nice to see Mother in your travels. Pretty sunset.
Gooooood morning Robert! Thank you for the new video. Since you like GTA V, you ought to try GTA Vice City. It is based on Miami, and even though it over ten years old, the in game radio stations and the game being set in the 1980s make it outstanding. Fly pelican, fly! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there. Have a great day Robert. 🌴😎👍
Good morning. Vice City is pretty cool too. Thank you!
Enjoyed your West 2019 Part 12. Keep it up 👍 Aloha
