After all this time I’ve just now brought myself to watch this video. I read some of the comments and found that our amazing Eljse is still with us. I was absolutely terrified something bad was happening. We will miss her so much but I’m grateful that she’s not ill. I pray that she has a happy long life with her new forever family. ♥️♥️♥️ thank you so much for keeping us posted with all the “goings on” with our beautiful Friesian Angels. It would be terrible to just have one of them come up missing and not know the reason. 🌹
I've seen some of your other videos with Elsje in them and she is beautiful! Her foals are gorgeous as well. Thanks for sharing! She will be missed I'm sure but, you really made someone in Canada happy!
Being able to see videos of dear horses who have moved on helps to keep us connected to the ongoing life and history of Stal G, oce just a gleam in Rein’s eye!
It must be hard to be a breeder, because you can’t keep all the horses😢 I am a big fan of Elsje and I think her new owners are very lucky to have her👍🏻 But I understand, that you have to change the horses, when you breed - and maybe now you can keep Elsje’s daughter - and my no 1 horse - Jacobien 💜❤️💙😂
Greetings from Ontario, Canada - that's very interesting to know that Elsja is here somewhere ! Did she go to farm west of Toronto again ? My mare threw me off once years ago also and ran like the wind back to the barn . A friend told me that he had had a horse hitched to cart that ran back to the barn and broke the door down to get in .
I kind of see it as retirement. She did her job and was well compensated! As much as I love the foals, I hope Elsja's foal days are over. I hope now she can take it easy and relax at a new home with a family who will pleasure-ride and give her a nice pasture to graze!
Elsje looks so relaxed there. I am sure she will have a great life in Ontario. It must take some planning to get her there. Yes, they have great character. I think they like people.
Elsje is such a beautiful mover. Watching you both together is a joy. You are right about Friesians though. They are such wonderful learners. My barn owner (who was also my riding instructor) rides Shade because I can’t right now. She always marvels and brags on how smart he is and how he remembers so well. Though he is half Percheron, his mind is Friesian. Elsje’s new family is lucky to have such a lovely girl. I’m sure they will treasure her as much as you do. ❤️
What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful mare. I loved watching her & Jacobein in the fields as her filly grew up. I know she misses her old home & friends (human & Equine) but she's so sweet she's made new ones. Thank you for her story. 💓💗💕💕🥰😘👍😘
I will miss seeing beautiful Elsje, and wish her good health and a long, happy life in Canada. (I bet Reintje won't miss her so much!😉) If you receive videos of her from her new home, will you please post them? All of the horses are so special to us. Thanks, Yvonne.
I’ll miss Elsje and her antics! Particularly her love of food! If I recall correctly she’s the ranking mare who’s in charge. Who will step up and take her place?
@@LindaEll89 Wasn't it Elsje who wouldn't eat the bananas in the 'Do Friesian horses like bananas' video? This seemed to be of particular surprise because she likes her grub.
The decisions stud farms need to make must be hard and sad but sensible. We will miss her too. Has Uniek taken Elsje's place as herd leader? Bucking you off is a memory of her you will never forget lol Good luck Elsje in your new and loving home. Thank you ❣️
I should think it lovely working with these beautiful horses, but painful to part with one of them. I guess you have to get used to if if you're buying and selling. (Personally I don't feel it's quite proper to buy and sell horses, because we would not sell our brothers and sisters.) But I know that it's necessary for your business.
Thank you, Yvonne...I knew nothing of Elsje, other than she was Freida' s Mem.....and liked to be in charge of the Mares.... She was beautiful.... Am sure they appreciated her in Canada! Daan and Hendrik were beautiful colts....

I liked Elsje very much. But for the group I think it was better for her to go: her leadership was a bit intolerant every now and then. To me the herd is much more relaxed now...
Always enjoy these videos and Elsje is beautiful. Love the new hat and glad you were okay after getting somersaulted while riding her. Is there a possibility now and then you might get pictures from new owners to show us? Just a thought.
I’m finally early!!!😁😁 love you guys! {edit} I have enjoyed seeing her so much! I’m glad that we’re you sold her she’ll still get loved and taken care of. (Not saying you guys didn’t you did all of it❤️)
Lovely story! I was on a trail ride with my new horse of a few weeks. In the middle of the woods a little girl jumped in front of us from out of nowhere. Alya stopped suddenly and I went flying over her head landing hard in front of her feet. She stood there and leaned down to sniff me "what are you doing?" Lucky me! She didn't run back to the stable. My ankle was twisted. Ayla walked back with me on her back. 🙃
