Horses are beautiful, majestic and intelligent creatures. It breaks my heart that some of them end up suffering so much. Thank you and all others who rescue them.
I can’t stop crying, you guys are so kind and caring, Miles is beautiful, how can anyone let these beautiful horses suffer so much. This rescue has made me so happy, thank you so much for loving and caring for Miles, god bless you all.🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀❤️
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone involved in Miles’ rescue & recovery. And what a wonderful home he has now. Hopefully the publicity surrounding his story will continue to bring more resources to horses in need all over the country. ❤
Many thanks to rescues like yours for saving these precious horses. It is uncomprehenable how people can do this to them. What a beauty Miles is turning out to be. Happy story.
I would encourage anyone who thinks they want a horse to do their research and find out how much and what it takes to feed and care for a horse. Ensure that they will have the time it takes as well to properly bond and train their horse. Also, if financial circumstances change and they can no longer propely care for their horse(s), there's no shame in admitting it and rehoming them before things get this bad. Unfortunately, some people don't do what's best for the well-being of the horse (s), they do what they think is best for themselves. I'm glad that Miles was able to be saved but I'm sorry that his pasture mate was too far gone. Heartbreaking and completely unnecessary, it could've been avoided. God bless all of those who rescue horses, give them foster care, and give them love and hope. You're all wonderful people 🙏♥️🥰
He turned a 180 nicely, i love happy endings, and really cant understand how people can go this way! This is breaking my heart, we only have 2 acres, but i grew up with horses, but once they came to our house they were lifers, part of the family. i miss those days.
Beautiful, beautiful boy, much love and respect to all involved in his rescue, rehabilitation and adotion, I wish I could do what you do but Im afraid my anger and emotion would end up with me in jail
He is a stunner and this story is so amazing - thanks for taking care of such a beautiful boy! How is he doing now and is he a pleasure horse or do they show him?
What is the matter with these owners???? There are so many organisations that would have found homes for these horses long before they are on the brink of death. Chain the owners in the snow.
Its so sad for horses to get in this condition. When the space between the spine and ribcage is a shelf, you know they are in dire straits. When your horse becomes inconvenient, rehome them, instead of starving them.
Don't know if Bluebonnet horse feed is available or can be ordered but is low in glucose and lb for lb one of the best grain feeds out there. Also, is straight alfalfa hard on their kidneys? Seems I read that somewhere... is Bermuda hay available where you are? I've rescued and saved a few horses... always wanted to do that for my life's work but things got in the way plus I had no support for that endeavor. I have always gotten rescue dogs tho. Lots of love and luck.
Until animal abuse and neglect become a felony and their right to own an animal is removed, I don't think it will be enough incentive for scum and others to care better for their animals or know when to ask for help.
Why you didn’t pull the other horse to the trailer (I saw it on Internet several tines) and tried to save him. I was not guaranteed but as long there is life, there is hope.
Now, Nov 28, 2020 and thanks to President Trump, it is a Federal offense to neglect or mistreat an animal. I would like to see these owners doing hard labor for the rest of their lives.
If a horse is in poor condition you do not give it pounds of alfalfa it's too high in protein I would suggest giving it Timothy Hay or orchard Grass not alfalfa they'll have a risk to collic
As it says in the piece they follow UC Davis guidelines. They know what they are doing and have unfortunately had to rescue and help many, many starving horses.
Oh my goodness, this horse is being ridden bit less!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Miles is gorgeous!! 👍🏻🐴💖

He found a lovely home. I got my Danny (Elvis) from SEO (one of the Bickelton 4). Those folks are absolutely wonderful.

Don't buy horses people unless you are gonna be a responsible horse owner 😠😠😠😠😠😠
Isn’t it awful. He’s happy now.

Bravo for your job with the one you save and all the others you are humane angels.
Your question is answered in the first minute of the film.
