GEO fencing irritation was the last straw for me. Years of Inspire 1V2 and Mavic Pro... I'm jumping to the Nano+
Yeah. That was the most important part for me too. As well as 5.2GHz channel instead of 2.4/5.8GHz of DJI - so it has less chances to be jammed by common dron jammers.
The reason the Nano+ is better in low light is because of different sensor technology.
The Nano+ has a RYYB sensor which obtains 40% more light, has better dynamic range & more image detail than the similar sized RGGB sensor on the Mini 3..
Love the chapters so helpful
Great information, I am always impressed with your videos 👍
I appreciate that!
All in all a very balanced review -great job. I own the Autel Evo 2 Pro, the Nano Plus and an DJI Air 2s - I love the Air2s for general use but the Evo 2 Pro is what I always use for Pro shoots. I love my Nano Plus but would probably agree that the Mini 3 pro is the better choice. My Nano plus comes in handy in low light or night shooting where my other drones wouldnt perform well.
I'm so happy with my Evo Nano+. I bought it after seeing many comparisons and I finally chose due to it's better image quality in both day and night shots, the Xbox type controller and the better and stronger signal. I'd never buy the Mini 3 Pro with that blurrier image. The only down side is the lack of active track...hope autel do a good job as they finally include it.
Nano is oversharpened though
Me too, Autel eats DJI on breakfast in terms of video quality. DJI foggy/blurry quality.
Have you had any problems with the nano plus. I’m stuck between the mini 3 or the nano plus or eco lite plus
@@2wheeladdict12 No problems at all

very good video, great editing!
Glad you liked it! My editor Luke is a beast
GREAT VID. THANKS BRO!
Awesome ender! “Stop Recording!” Had me laughing so much! Great Vid!
Yeah, 15:23 was hilarious.
Thanls much, and thanks much for telling us about the Evo app 😊❤
Awesome review! Just having the RC controller alone is enough reason to pick the Mini 3 Pro. Relative to the Autel Nano+, the Mini 3 Pro seems more polished and refined not only in terms of the physical unit itself but also in terms of its software and algorithms
Yeh i’m not going back to using a phone lol
Great job...bro🙂
bro jus got a new sub, I like the mini 3 pro and i am gonna buy that hopefully soon!
Which one is louder when flying?
Thank you for the review
I own both and one point I would add is the difference in noise levels - the Mini 3 is so quiet, especially compared with the Nano.
Hey that's great thanks Stephen 🙏 Q: Is it quiet enough for me to do a Chat (on a Lav mic.) with the drone close enough to see Lip-Sync? (Tia - would be very helpful...) All best, Bob K 🐭
They're great drones to have. But flight experience is more rewarding on the Mini 3 Pro, prolly because of the available tech features that you can try on the drone or maybe it's also because flight has been smooth and hassle free!
Such a weird issue with the Nano, were you using the Autel Explorer app at first or an early version of the SKY app? glad it was resolved. LOG footage on the nano is only available on the auto settings i believe.
What about charging? Can they be charged off a powerbank. Love my Mini2 backpacking but was letdown with Air2s needing an Ecoflow mini off grid.😅
Great review. I bought Autel. Autel has got great detail video quality where Dji has got foggy quality. It's enough to said for me.
Holy shit..... on the controller and battery section you also filmed at the lonely tree above Garden of the gods.. up the hill... i slept exactly where you guys were hanging like 15 times in my truck in 2015/16... crazy that you are duplicating my places. I drove thru gotg every day to go to work. Lived on west pikes peak ave at the bottom of the hill 4 houses down. Cool stuff... i wish i had my drones then.
That is so cool!!
I would be interested in the Nano+. I had also shity times when moving from Parrot Anafi to DJI Mini 2. (1. tilted horizon, 2. disconnection issues, 3. unstable altitude) and it was the 4th Mini 2 that actually worked. Took 2 months to make all the exhanges. And in the end I don't enjoy flying the Mini 2, so thats why I would like to try the nano+.
Save yourself the headache And buy a mini 3 or 4pro. Dji fixed all those problems especially on the 4 pro.
Nano ain't it
The mini 3 is a beast, i love this drone, recommend to anybody. Thanks bro.
I worked and lived in Breck from 2016 to late 2018, and went up tiger rd thousands of times. Used the portipot there at the dredge you shot. I literally know every inch. Looked like ypu shot lake Dillon and possibly the campground up Tiger rd. Cool shots made me "2nd homesick". Still debating on the dji mini, the air or the fpv. Whats your thought
The Evo Nano is gonna be awesome when they catch up!
I have a AUTEL now after having dji mini previously I prefer the AUTEL mostly because it seems to take a clearer video and connects with iPhone well.
One should pick up on the best qualities of both drones and combine these in a joint venture.
Where were you driving? It's looking awesome
D-boy, good fair video. Honest. at 11:46 tiny misinformation….the Nano+ aperture is 1.9. The Old Mini 2 was 2.8. Shit I’m splitting hairs cause I can edit as well as you. Really well done stuff. You offer Workshops? I’m in Leucadia a Donde estas?
Autel: if you like windows and freedom and customized experience and not forced updates etc. (what you will lose though 4k 60 fps/ only get 30. ) not too bad
but with DJI if you are a apple fan.. and like expensive pretty experiences but are forced to do as they say. (inaccurate GEO FENCING compared to what the FAA apps say that wont let you fly thanks DJI) and forced remote ID on drones that do not require it (sub 250gram recreationally)
there I said it.. Autel is younger and has hickups but they are better than DJI as a company
I think get the mini 3 pro and get the camera from the nano+ then make the cameras interchangeable maybe, it would be nice though change camera for different shooting scenes and lighting.
Hello i wish you could help me I don't know which drone should I buy if the nano plus or the Dji Mini 3 standard not the pro, I had the mini 2 and never had a problem or issue but I like the nano plus but people has said that I had problems with connection or problems with the return home and some other things can some one helped me please
I too have had problems with my nano +. Basically Autel why did he get the jump on the 250 g market before DJI released the mini 3. They rushed it, they released it before it should’ve been released. Autel has been playing catch-up ever since. Still no dynamic tracking, still a lot of bugs. They just had another firmware update yesterday. I do believe in AUTEL and do believe that their drone will be most excellent. I just wish it would have been more polished upon release. BTW, great video dude. Great delivery.
Exakt.
I got a hold of a brand new Autel premium bundle on Amazon for just 110USD so it was a no brainer!
ARE HIS CONTROLS DJI-TYPE, PRECISE TO THE MINIMUM DETAIL AND SMOOTH?
I have wanted another Autel for years and I wanted the Nano plus. I sent it back within 4 days. There was so much wrong with it and although it has a much better camera overall than my Mini 2 it was not worth the purchase. I believe the Mini 2 is a much better quad all in all and I was a huge fan of Autel. I have not touched an Mini 3 Pro but I can compare it to the Mini 2.
hey i know this is unrelated but ive been checking your videos especially wiht the nazgul 5 set up. not sure if you have upgraded to something better but i saw you had it with the dji fat controller and the goggles. my question is do i get the v2 goggles and does your academy include the complete setup for the nazgul 5. i have the mavic air but want to upgrade to fpv just not sure how to go about it.
Hey man! Yep still fly wit the Nazgul. The course coveres how to set everything up with RTF drones that I fly, and yep V2 goggles would work
Excellent content. Im looking to buy Dji mini 3. But like to weight few months
Anoys me that go to places an want to fly at a park but the dji geo fencing wont allow you.
So considering buying a Fini mini as a back up for those places.
What are your thoughts
Thanks
I think the petosionc atom is way better
This is why I prefer DJI over Autel Evo. There's something attractive with DJI drone technology
At 2:53 I think everyone can make up their mind which drone is better
I really wanted a nano. Then I actually googled it and hell no. I'm sure I'm not the only one as they keep coming up with new sales every week. In the past 3 months it has dropped 30%.
That was before getting into the many issues, the lack of support, the lack, delay and then poor performance of the object tracking. So no.
Considering how often I fly and think recording while I am actually not, the Autel Robot Voice may be my No 1 purchase argument 😂
Thanks for your comparison of these two little beasts! As much as I like the sharpness of the Nano Plus, I still think the Mini 3 is overall the best! My determination was made for me with regard to that damn Geofencing so I got the Nano Plus! I really hate that fencing! I can get LAANC authorization where I live but you have to move mountains to get the license and the authorization for DJI to open Restricted Zones! Unless you preplan in my area, forget it! You will completely miss your shot! But... I am not a big fan of Autel either! They completely failed the Evo 1 when the Evo 2 came out! They dropped it like it had COVID! In addition, for a "supposedly American Made" drone, I have had horrific experiences trying to reach Autel for ANYTHING! Bottom line, they are both out to make money! Screw the consumer is the way I see them both! We need another competitor that will crush these deficits!!! Ugh! Damn drones! LOL!
well i already bought the Mini 3 Pro and really happy with it , your review is bang on , the Autel got a long ways to go.
If autel had answered you in the first place it would have saved them a lot of money. No excuse for bad customer service. Glad you sorted it .
Exactly. It was such a simple fix but the lack of support turned it into something way bigger.
IF nano performs better in low light, this means that it is winner. because after all, we do all these things to get a good picture. when we approach from the photography perspective only. am I correct ?
If you can't fly enough because battery sucks, because range sucks, because software sucks.. if it is unstable.. if the controller is a pain in the ass.. then maybe it is not the winner.. there are many things to consider in a drone experience.. it is not just a flying camera.. Some people use for professional photography.. some use for social media, funny content, personal memories.. so maybe they are not concerned with ultra high quality pictures taking in low light situaitons
nano no geo fence!! sweet!
Doesn’t mean you’re allowed to fly in more places… people wanting a drone for this are basically saying they just don’t care with breaking the rules… and given how loud the autel is, chances are you will get caught sooner or later if you do this often.
In the DJI app, you most of the time get just a warning and you can click it away, but at least you know the restrictions such as in height. On the autel you need to stay under the same height, and when caught, saying you didn’t know won’t cut it. Because you are supposed to know this before taking off… Only places where the DJI actually can’t fly is forbidden area’s like airports… lets hope you don’t want to do things like that…
@@kristofsportingdogs3549 You might be flying indoors, or a few feet off the ground, or you might have permission to fly from local authorities. Geofencing overrides personal responsibility. I don't want a car that refuses to exceed the speed limit, even when passing or in an emergency. Do you??
@@kenweller2032 Almost all geo fence areas on DJI you can dismiss by one simple click. So it is a very small inconvenience but at least you are aware of the situation. The very few where you really can't take off is very close to an airport or so. But you have to be very close, a bit further away, you're in a geofence that gives you a warning and you can dismiss it at your own responsibility.
And if you have permission, you can send that to DJI and they remove the geofencing completely for you. That's what firefighters and police and other professionals do.
I can use your analogy of a car speeding too:
Flying with an Autel is like getting a speeding ticket, while you didn't even knew you were riding too fast, because there were no speed signs along side te road. But the cop told you, you should have known them by first studying a map beforehand at home on the rules on that specific road.
I have both the Mini3 and the Nano Pluss. Similar to you I had to send the first Nano I got back. All it would do was self check the gimbal till the Battery was dead. "But" I had to send The First Mini 3 back as it gave me every fault the DJI ever had...... Range I get the opposite results as you did. Mini 3 range is just terrible. I can always fly the Autel farther. Mini 3 definitely just fly's so much better than the Nano and Longer. Ease of used I would have to pick the Mini 3. Everything DJI promised is there where as I'm still disappointed with Missing features that Autel promised. Camera wise I would say that the Nano is better, personally in Auto I prefer the Mini 3 but photo's and low light it's the Nano hands down. DJI just gives you a little better value for your money and the DJI RC just makes it so much easier. For now since they are both so small I keep both in my camera bag.... Autel needs to do a better job to give what the promised. It took a bunch of folks complaining for them to fix the fight speed issue, the batteries not auto discharging and some other issues. Unfortunately I don't think the Obstacle sensors are good enough for Auto trac. I have to turn them off all the time due to false hits on a sunny day
Thanks for the info. Dude in the tree ruined it for me, reminded of the guys that toppled rock structures or other folks doing stupid stuff for a video.
you still cannot fly these mini drones over people legally. the 250gram limit for “over people” flight applies with a prop guard of some kind. So you need to have the prop guard AND be under 250 grams for it to qualify to fly over people. Unless it is transitory.
When a less known competitore goes toe toe with the market leader i think its a mistake to price competitively. If your product has any inferior qualities at all they will be amplified by consumers because of the price. You have to earn the right to charge a premium. And you do that with a superior product not one that has all kinds of issues.
He tenido los dos drones y el Autel es un gran dron hasta el momento que sufrió una desconexión no actuó el RTH y se perdió.Autel se ha desentendido de este problema.Un dron sin servicio ni garantía no vale nada y además es muy caro.
Autel #1
Really?? you didnt catch on that you needed a different app? - 4 drones later? any search on you-tube could have told you that you needed the sky app - along with the documentation you got with the drone.
I believe they didn't even send you a different drone they sent you the same one.
$999 for the Nano is pricey I think I would buy the Air2s or the mini3P for $100 cheaper lol
$650 at Amazon vs $999 for Air2S and $900 for mini3p as for now. That's already a good bargain.
el enfoque mediante sotware tipo Margulis del Autel es horrible.
Thanks for the warning, the support voicemail said more than anything. It's like buying an expensive phone from Aliexpress - if it works, great, if not you're f****d. I'll stick with DJI, always great supoort.
Won’t record video …a common issue. Oof
Dude uses wrong version of the app (for mini, not nano), leaves stupid voicemail messages and wonders why nobody calls him back, then holds a grudge.
Autel’s customer service keeps me from considering them.
This guy didn’t bother to install the latest Autel app as part of the troubleshooting process?? 🤣🤦
Please can't you sent me one
Autel is in the right direction, we can all see it. But they're also so far behind DJI and we can all see that too
I will never buy a DJI Drone again !!
Why ?
GEO Fencing !
And further more DJI Owns your drone !
Autel you own the Drone !
I have many DJI Drones, your experience with Autel at first could have happened to anybody !
I'm a professional Photographer it's all what you want !
Dji will fix your drone for cheap, sometimes free.
Autel will get you to pay to fix their mistakes no matter what- trash warrenty lousy customer service.
Autel is probably on their way out
I think it's pretty irresponsible for you, as content creator, to make a review/comparison video that bashes a manufacturer for sending you 3 bad drones in row when the actual issue was your inability to follow instructions properly. It's literally almost 1/5 of this video's total length (1:20-4:20). That whole section should have been preceded with a disclaimer that said something to effect of in the end it was your mistake but here's how it unfolded. There's zero doubt in my mind if 100 people click on this video with the sole intention of deciding between these two drones at least 20-30 of those people would have stopped watching only to have never realized the drones were probably fine and it was YOUR fault. If you're a DJI fanboy however this makes sense. This is the first video of yours I've seen so I don't know if that's true.
Dont buy the nano! They promised active tracking.
1y later i am still waiting for that feature
DJI just too far in bed with Chinese government for, plus having to register with DJI just to use the product…
My Autel Evo Nano Plus arrived with a deffective IMU. It does not fly at all. I have over 3 weeks trying to return this garbage from Brazil to USA
Lol your the only on RUclips that's says the dji has more, range, it does not, in fact the autel better transmission. I have seen 100 s of these. videos.
Different place different range. In my area mini 3 have same range like a2s (have both) i was fly 3000m easy(don't need more)
Yeah depends a ton on current conditions
