- Did you know that this S&S Worldwide conversion of the former Premier Rides BuzzSaw Falls water coaster uses a compressed air launch that goes from 0-53 mph (85 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, but the actual top speed is 64 mph (103 km/h)? Like all the coasters at Silver Dollar City that take full advantage of the surrounding terrain, this one has a 110 foot (33.5m) drop in spite of being 98 feet (30m) tall.
Check out the on-ride POV video we posted to see what it's like to be in the front seat of this thrilling coaster: • Powder Keg front seat ...

One of my favorite coasters. This footage is beyond epic, especially the overall view of (almost) the entire ride cycle. Excellent videography as always. The new higher resolution cameras make you
feel like you could just reach out and touch something.
Me Too
Underrated: the ride
Good footage
This is one of the most unique coasters out there. Especially because it utilizes the older track from the previous ride.
For real? This used to be BuzzSaw then?
@@Mr.Pants45 yes! I’m pretty sure they used track from BuzzSaw to create the broken tracks on the roof of the ride entrance !
One of the absolute BEST roller coasters this theme park has to offer! It's also SDC's longest coaster as well. Looking forward to my return trip and riding it again, as well as the others they have there.
Love the way this thing leaves the station with that little track lift
Damn, these are some good shots.
Very nice footage of an very underrated coaster!
I like Powder Keg! :)
This surprise me when I rode this in August. I heard some people say it was kinda rough, but I found it to be really smooth and fun. I liked the launch as well.
I think my favorite part in this video is seeing the catch car spring back and forth after the launch
Why’s this got so many dislikes? Great video.
At the beginning I though it was Planet coaster😂I'ts a beautiful coaster
I just went today and it was a blast! I filmed a vlog for my channel and it was so difficult to get a lot of off ride footage. Could I use some of yours and give you credit? If not I totally understand I just thought I would ask
I think this is the earliest I’ve ever been
Starla Is Fast and Powder Keg S&S Roller Coaster 3:02
I've been on that one countless times
Come back to Dollywood and film some Lightning Rod Offride!
And an on ride as well, don't forget that.
What's the point of the moving track before the launch? It is a full circuit right?
If they get a rollback, it wouldn't go into the station, but it would go up the spike behind the launch and come to a stop (the brakes they use are bad on launch track)
They transfer track after the station was incorporated into the design because they reused the station from the buzzsaw falls Coaster. If they had the launch right out of the station, it would run straight into the lift and drop area. They just used it to transfer to a launch area free from clearance issues.
that anti rollback system is cool ngl
I've been on it.
I rode it a lot it is awesome
how do you record the coaster
But I love going to Silver Dollar City
Did you record the footage S&S posted on Powder Keg?
East Coast(er) General, who films almost all of our videos also films for various coaster manufacturers, including S&S Sansei. So it's likely that the video your referring to was filmed by him as well.
@@coasterforce Wow! that's pretty cool!
The lift hill doesn’t make sense to me either. A little lsm booster would have done it.
It's from the original Buzzsaw falls track..
Fun
Me gusta esa montaña rusa
The lift hill is just as tall as the first launched hill. It is almost like they ran out of money and time and just ended the coaster early instead of building an entire second half. The second part looks so disappointing it almost negates the niceness of the first half. If the drop hills went closer to the ground the speed would have been enough to get the train back into the station without interrupting the flow like the lift hill does.
Bill Keith I don’t think you understand that parts of “Buzzsaw Falls” which was the water coaster here before this was repurposed for powderkeg including the lift and some parts of the track before the lift if I am correct. It sucks but it’s what they had to work with
@@pumpkinbread7396 Oh I see, home-park nostalgia. That makes sense then. The flame burst on take off was cool (or hot, lol)
@@billkeithchannel it's not nostalgia, it's simply cost savings. In 2005, SDC wasn't the massive park it is today and didn't have nearly the money reservoir to build an elaborate ride like TT or Outlaw Run. They saved money by just reusing track and saving time and money on labor
Que irado
Hate that stupid lift hill. Makes the whole ride feel so weird.
I ried it
I rode it ok?
I know it was the corrector
