Getting swing tempo & rhythm back is first on the agenda after I take a break from playing.
I used the *Quadratic Formula* a lot in my Calculus & Physics classes: *x = − b ± √ b2 − 4ac / 2a*

How I do my meter to yards quick calculation.. 10% of the meters and add to get yards eg.150 meters== > 10% =15 then add to the 150 to give 165 yards, not crazy accurate but puts you in the ball park .......well that's how most guys I play with work it out in Ireland.

Or if you go up to 6th grade math you can just use the change factor which is 1+0.1 (I think it's called that in English) and take for example 150 meters times 1.1 and you'll get 165 yards (150x1.1=165) if you want it more precise the formula, from yard converted to meter, is: yd = m x 1.0936.

@@DerkNotDirk No he doesn't use the change factor. He takes 10 % of 150 which is 15 and then adds 150+15=165 which is a completly different method. If you'd know like 4th grade math, you would understand the difference. Even if it is just a small difference. I am using, what you call, a formula. Which is yd = m*1.093613 but the simplified version is yd = m*1.1 because it's easier to use and remember.

For me when I take a break the shot shaping goes out the window for me. I often resort to just using irons off the tee when its been a while because I can't find the fairway with my driver.
chipping and remembering some things in my swing that are critical is what i sometime forget to do well when I take a break.
Hey Brodie! To convert meters to yards you have to devide the number of meters with 0.9 ( which is easiest done adding 1/10 of the the meter number you have) And add the hundred number to the pot. This is a very fast and easy way. E.g: 400 meters= 400+40+4= 444 yards. As a european Swede I Always have to convert yards instead. Love your content Brodie❤

What is a good starter set of clubs
Swing is fine more often than not but I can’t feel it which is scary as hell. Don’t know where the club is when I take it back for a few holes. Chipping and putting is always fine since I have a matt at home to just work on strike.

For me, it’s always rhythm. When I don’t play for a long time, the tempo of my swing speeds up and I don’t play with any sort of rhythm in my swing. It’s probably that “omg I’m playing golf adrenaline”
Chipping and Pitching are absolutely the ones that I struggle with if I take an extended break. I have no distance control at all with shots 75yds or under while working my way back

I took 2 weeks away from the game then recently got back into my normal schedule of practice and playing and I’m struggling the most with my wedges from 80-120 yards out

The easiest way to convert meters to yards is just to take 10% of the meters and add that to the yards. So for example if the hole is 500 meters, you take 10% of that or 50 and add that to the 500 to get 550 yards. Close enough and easy to calculate.

When I take a break, tempo is what goes away for me. Swing can feel strong, but the transition on top is never right. Same with putting and chipping - I struggle to maintain acceleration after a long layoff.

They really arent. 100 meters is equal to 109 ish yards, that's a club difference for most people
Short game goes first cause it is more about feel and the long game is more about repetition IMO. I would just practice the 100 yard in shots more often when you are coming back from a break from golf!! I hope for your next European excursions you take my advice about how to convert meters to yards cause it is really easy. The 10 percent rule more 100 meters for example is 110 yards approximately!!

Quick meters to yards formula. Take the first two digits from the metric yardage and add to original metric figure. Example 300 meters would be 30 + 300 or 330 yards. 😄
