I replied to your comment because I respect you as a creator - and furthermore, be a public figure willing to comment on my video despite the drama Your opinion really clarified my perspective on the general interpretation and opinion of the community, and was instrumental to my positive growth I have your back moving forward and will be paying close attention to your videos moving forward
I think the way Adam & Josh originally talked about the use of AI already tells you enough about their morals and how they see their art peers 🤐. Both knew all too well that genAI programs are created using stolen art and yet they still wanted to argue for the use of it. If an artist cares so little about their peers, I don't know if they can be trusted. Especially Adam was one of my art heroes but no amount of skill or power or fame can make up for their horrible takes and their aggressiveness while delivering their points of views 🤐
@@friendlyneighborhoodartist Adam at least has publicly spoken in favor of AI already in the past, so I doubt there will be any changes on his side. But you're right, we'll see it in the future regardless
Came to see your take after Adam mentioned you in his videos. I've been a big fan of Adam for a while so it was a shame to see his initial video but so far I think he has handled his apology well. Right now I'm waiting to see his actions moving forward as he's promised to have the back of the community and be a better representative. As for Josh I can't personally support someone who has been using AI for 2 years and repeatedly tried to push it when he has been made aware of the issues with it multiple times. I lost a lot of respect for him and it won't be easy to earn that back. When it comes to using AI ethically, I really don't think there is a way currently. The only thing I could foresee in the future is being able to train a model purely on your own work or work you've bought the rights to. But I don't believe it's possible for models to function accurately on such a small dataset. And that opens to door for companies like Blizzard who 'own' all of the work produced by their employees for the past few decades to train models to replace their current employees. Perhaps by ingesting purely public domain works they could create interesting compositions and colour palettes while still being vague enough/so far removed from modern commercial art that they function purely as thumbnails/starting points and not as anything close to replacements. AI isn't evil, but the companies peddling this current wave of GAI are. I really appreciated your take on the whole situation though. Very level headed and honest. I plan on watching more of your videos and you earned yourself a new subscriber
@Metal-Spark thanks so much! I'm glad Adam apologized, but he also deleted that apology. I have some ideas on making a diagram of what I believe could be good ai ethics. Also, you are right, Josh and Adam hurt their communities. Not only because of the AI thing but the heartlessness of their original thoughts and attempts to escape it.

@AdamDuffArt oh you, pshaw. Don't flatter me now, I might get a big ego lol.

Well, we'll see in the future if they improve that behavior.
