I appreciate all the minor "mistakes" like spilling, not fitting into a bowl and so on! It's not perfect and that's why I can relate to these videos. It's not "perfect", "plastic", "fake", "directed". We just get this home-vibe. Love it!
Greetings from a Palestinian 🇵🇸🇵🇸✌️✌️thanks for sharing this recipe.
I eat bulgur wheat & lentils several times a week & it is nice to see another recipe I can enjoy. Thank you Chetna.
Mujadara is one of my all time favourite dishes, and is usually made with rice (after you saying it reminds you of Kitchari). So simple, but flavoursome, delicious, and utterly comforting!
This looks gorgeous, especially with the cumin spice which I am addicted to. I'm a bit low on bulgar wheat so I am using some pearl barley..Hope it works ok
This looks really tasty and it's also vegan!! I love that your onions are sprouting like mine are right now. Thanks for sharing. I've been eating more bulgur lately and will be trying this.
I made mujadara (for the first time) quite recently, but with rice. I've got some bulgur wheat in the cupboard, though, so I'll definitely try this version - I'm trying to eat more vegetarian and vegan meals, and the fried onion, lentil and starch combo with spices is so incredibly satisfying to eat 😋.
Thanks Chetna!
Same here - needing to use bulgur wheat which was just sitting in cupboard so will make this. I’m sure we’ll both like it very much because Mujadara with rice is delicious, nutritious and healthy!
You are awesome, that recipe looks delicious I love the fried onions😃
Very tasty good food🍲
That looks like it tastes absolutely delicious! And best of all, it looks simple enough that even I could make it! I bet it would be wonderful for meal prep as well... Thanks, Chetna!
I have made this yesterday, a wonderful new addition to the repertoire, thank you again! So wonderful with tahini drizzled on top
Wonderful!
The dal boiled water hoping u didn’t discard it…you can use it to knead atta or use it as a stock
I’m literally cooking this right now because it looks so good and simple enough for someone like me ha ha. I cannot wait to try it thank you so much for posting this
Thanks Alice, hope you enjoyed it
Thank you! I made this and it is delicious!
That looks delicious , Thank you for sharing
wonderful dish!
Looks delicious 👌🏻😋 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a great day everyone
Perfection!
Thanks.
That looks delish Chetna!! I live on my own so will have to reduce quantity but will definitely try it. Thank you 🙏 P.S can it be refrigerated and how long will it keep?
Loved the style of presentation. Really simple....
Thanks a lot 😊
Love it!!
Thank you!!
Apart from probably air-frying the onions without oil
this is a great recipe for my diet
combining alliums, starches and legumes (especially lentils)
The sort of dish like kushari
(I know the Egyptian version with rice, lentils and pasta)
I have SO MUCH Bulger wheat and lentils that I have to get through, I'm so excited to try this recipe!
Update: I made it today and it's incredible
I love mejadra and I cook it often! I tried this recipe yesterday and the texture and the spice mix is perfect :) caramelized onions add a very nice sweetness too 🙏
Yummy
It was
This looks amazing. I'm definitely giving this a try ❤
Hi any substitute for green lentils . As i get green lentils here . I have only red lentils
OMG! I want this.Gonna make it tomorrow.
Hope you tried it
Do you have a video about tiffin boxes? I just bought on with 3 tiers and would love to see a video about a traditional way to pack it
Hi , any substitute for Green Lentils. As im unable to get it from where i live .
❤❤❤
Thanks
omg just the thing I need!
Bulger, lentils, and onions are some of my favorite foods. This dish looks perfect to me, but my husband would like a sauce with it. Tahini plus yogurt would suit him well.
alternatively, you could try toum, Lebanese garlic sauce, just garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and a bit of salt if desired. could serve toum and yogurt on the side, and he could decide to add it on or keep it on the side.
@@richardwallace6313 Lovely idea. He'd be delighted. Garlic is one of his favorite flavors and mine as well. Thanks for expanding our thoughts.
@@jamesvoigt7275 I hope it works out well. I love that stuff (toum).
This dish looks so delicious and I definitely will be making it! One question: could I use a broth instead of water?
No. Absolutely NOT. What a question!
Thank you so much.
Yayyyy!!! I needed this recipe. Thank you. 💜
Very nice enjoy I will make it from New York
I have two comments: you don’t say wether or not to cover the lentils when cooking, and should I shut off the heat when I put the tea towel on top of the pan? I did ask a previous question that went unanswered: can I use broth instead of water?
They are not green lentils, they are red lentils.....the recipe looks yummy will surely give it a try.
Try to cook the Lentils and the Bulgur separately
This is so not u,discarding that beautiful, healthy, lentil stock down the sink. I would have used it to cook the bulgar. Fine though Chetna,u are still the best. Just an OBSERVATION!!!.
oops
It's okay. Cooking the bulgur in fresh water allows it to be more nutritious and easily digestible. Nothing wrong here!
Wonderful recipe. From river to the sea Palestine will be free.
