    Steam VR over WIFI works really well for me. My PC is in another small room whereas my router is in my living room. So I can use my Pico 4 wireless with enough space and without any noise from my PC fan.

    How is the "sense of speed"? Do you feel like you are actually going fast at all?

    howdy, ive been using the pico for about a month now, the clarity is great coming from an older gen hp1440 vr headset. have you tried the Pico Streaming Assistant Extender? you have a few more options to mess around with in there. worth a look

    Not sure how much they have improved pico SA, but virtual desktop connected via ethernet gave a way better image for me. Obviously very dependent on where internet access is in relation to pc though.

    Great video Jez, I have the pico 4 pretty impressed also, I agree it's comfortable my only gripe is I have some leakage at the side, I know it's there, and it does not affect gaming, but I know it's there :( lol, works great on my sim PC wired and also over network on my second PC (RTX 2080) and allows me to VR downstairs which gives me much more room.
    Would be interested if you would share your AM2 in game setting if you have time. Thanks again keep up the good work

    Obviously still enjoying the Fanatec Porsche 911 rim on the Moza Racing CS. Makes Moza seem a tiny bit more tempting than Logitech in this regard. I see the R320 (TURN RACING) also fits nicely.

    I have quest 2 and have plan to upgrade to pico 4, is it worth it? how about fov comparision between them do you spot the different? thanks

    • @picofrance
      @picofrance Год назад +2

      Larger sweetspot and near of +15° FoV add .
      If you can't wait to know quest3 specs , you Can go on pico 4 👍

    • @SimRacingCorner

      The FOV is larger than the Q2, the Pico is kind of similar to the Valve Index. I've just quick test between my Quest 2 and the Pico. And yeah, it's quite a noticeable difference. The FOV is a decent increase.

    • @jackr.749
      @jackr.749 Год назад

      I've had my Pico 4 for roughly 2 months now and the FOV is a little bigger than the Quest 2, the closer your eyes are to the optics, the better the FOV, this is true of both headsets. The lack of a 3.5mm audio jack on the Pico 4 is a bummer but it's built in audio is for me, better than the Quest 2. Pico's Streaming Assistant software isn't nearly as good as that for the Quest 2, it needs a lot of tweaking in it's algorythms to fade the compression artifacts, but Virtual Desktop over WiFi 6 works really well. The lenses being pancake have a much larger sweet spot than the Quest 2 but in high contrast scenes (white on black) you will get glare but in daytime sim racing, you will not see any glare, night racing, maybe (I've not tried this). At this point in time, I would have to say wait for the Quest 3 and see what it brings to the table, right now, the information of it's specs are hard to find even though it's been announced already, they were pretty shy with the specs.
      For PCVR, I use a Reverb G2 (especially for sim racing), it's clarity is amazing, way better visual quality than either the Quest 2 or Pico 4. The biggest problem with the G2 is it's a WMR headset with horrible controllers for regular VR play. I use mine with the Valve knuckles so it's basically my dream setup! LOL :)

      i have reverb g2 and pico 4 !!! clarity is same !! pico 4 avantage is huge sweet spot , large fov because diagonal fov is large!! g2 avantage is time response because is wired !! probably sell reverb g2 !!!!

    im about to build a pc specifically for sim racing with multiple titles, for F1, ACC, so on...
    my only concern is that will it run smoothly with high/ultra settings in those games with rx6800?
    my intention was getting the rx6800xt, but that'll cost me go over my budget

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Год назад

      For VR you won't be able to run ultra settings. Mostly med (and low on stuff like grass) is where you're aiming for with the rx6800. That GPU benchmarks below my 3090 in reviews, so I can tell this from my experience.

  • @mangs9940
    @mangs9940 Год назад +1

    Does the pico 4 use alot of pc resources to run- that might impact game preformance. I am wondering if this could run on my gaming laptop. Acer Aspire 7 AMD Ryzen 5 5625U 32GB ram 512GB SSD GeForce RTX 3050 15.6 Inch Windows 11 Gaming Laptop. I have a beefy desktop, that should work no problem.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Год назад +3

      VR in general uses a lot of PC resources, as it's rendering two high resolution images at a constant high frame rate. For VR sim racing, your laptop would struggle. I don't think it would be a good experience.

      @mangs9940 Год назад

      @@SimRacingCorner do you think older games like assetto Corsa with lower pc graphic requirements makes a difference on performance in vr. I don't need high photo realism on the move.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Год назад +1

      Game selection does matter, so it's a fair question. But you're still dealing with rendering to a higher resolution, than 3050 is ideally suited for. Even with Assetto Corsa. Sure, you can lower the visual settings, including lowering the render resolution. Sort of like running a game at 720p on a 1080p monitor. It won't look good, though, it will be rather blurry. So technically, yes, you could get it to run smoothly. But visually, it will look pretty bad, and especially so in VR with screens close to your eyes.

    if the Pico vr headset is plugged via usb cable to the computer, is it also charging/powered by the PC?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Год назад +1

      Yes, but you will need a specific 'type of cable' as USB 3.0 from your PC doesn't provide enough power. This is the cable I'm using ruclips.net/video/gNqhRRZwp34/видео.html

    Sadly i sent my pico 4 back for a refund as the compression for sim racing ruins the experience. Hopefully Pico will improve the bitrate option slider and match what Meta/Oculus can do via link with 500mbs and other tweaks to improve it. Apparently the new quest 3 chipset will have some trickery where you wont see any compression/artifacts and as good as a display port connection! If thats true then Q3 would be a no brainer for sim racing, for me anyway.

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner  Год назад +1

      Someone mentioned on another comment, you can increase the bitrate with this www.ampowersoftware.it/2022/12/07/dantesresurrectiondev/

      There is a godmode in Virtual Desktop and with my 4080 it looks really great. I didn't like the just high quality before. Haven't tried the Extender so far.
