I found your tutorial very easy to follow along. I had no problems duplicating what you had done. Thank you for showing ALL the screens while applying the fx layers. Fantastic. Incidentally, you were having trouble saying alias for the anti-alias. It sounds like A-lee-iss. Hope that helps! :) Definitely moving on to part 2.
at 16:35 you cancel layer blending style changes talking about how to define pattern, when you fade into having them applied at 16:42 the bevel is not how you set it before hand. Anyone following, in order to replicate the new bevel i changed the size to 2 instead of 4
Thx for putting the video up, it's a good thing to have an alternative to a webpage tutorial, videos are a lot more comfortable to follow. As a general feedback I must say that at some parts your narrative was paused as if you were reading the original tuts+ tutorial with the exact same effect (same textures and ember pics as well). I understand that to make the effect it's a lot of layer style settings to fiddle with, notes are a must. Otherwise a great job, video PS tutorials are better imo! :)

I'm having a problem with Pattern Overlay. At 24:33 in the tutorial Pattern Overlay is selected and the Magma texture is selected. When I do this, the texture does not appear on the AR image or in the Preview window. Can anyone tell me what to do to resolve this? Thanks!

I could not watch this tutorial, it was giving me a headache how slow you were and constantly overexplaining things. I recommend slightly scripting it out before recording.

the magma texture is applied to the whole letter not only the relief, why?
