out of curiosity, how'd you get to such a crazy photoshop-guru level? just hours and hours of experimentation?? your tutorials are absolutely nuts!
That's an awesome compliment, thanks! It's pretty crazy how much you use the same kinds of effects over and over again after working in design for 20 years or so... you slowly invent or stumble on faster and more direct ways to do things. I also really like the challenge of it, so sometimes I'll definitely sit in front of photoshop for 2 days trying to figure out a new way to do a specific thing... Cheers!
@@Texturelabs I think you are, to a large extent, a scientist.
@@Texturelabs you are the real OH
@@Texturelabs That's an excellent way of doing it. I've discovered some absolutely knockout effects just by fiddling around with blend modes, layer styles and blendifs, even before I got to the filters. Photoshop is the type of program that, if you understand its tools, really rewards experimentation!
always click on your videos and feel like I'm watching a large 100k channel. Amazing man
Right on Kyle, that's really cool to hear. I try to keep the mindset that whether it's 100 people or 100k actually doesn't make that much difference to me if people are finding the channel useful! But I appreciate that!
I love watching your tutorials, not because I need that specific effect for something, but just because I broadens my horizon of what you can do with photoshop in ways that I just wouldn't have thought of myself
thanks for posting these, keep it up
This channel is literal goldmine. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful tutorials.
They are becoming addictive, very useful techniques and tips.
Thanks Brady!
I made hundreds of photoshop effects but I am learning SO MUCH from your tutorials!!!! Great work! Never found a channel for photoshop like this. Amazing that you still only have just 6313 views on this one!!!
there is unimaginable amount of work which has gone into 12 min tutorial, wow teacher, thanks, I was just blown away by your dedication.
Man, I just keep watching these. So much stuff I know I won’t remember, but I’ll get it all eventually!
Your work is such an inspiration. It gets me excited about Photoshop and its possibilities of over and over again. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and years of work and experience.
its literally amazing, divine, whatever u wanna call it, this man is literally a genius, keep the good work up, Love the vids !
Unbelievably good! After watching almost all of your tutorials, I decided to become a patron.
I have just followed your tutorial for a presentation I am working on and although I had more text in the image it all worked perfectly with some minor adjustments, and I love that the text is still live. many thanks
All these tutorials are great but best of all is your delivery. All too often photoshop tutorial videos have a condescending tone or just treat you like an absolute beginner but there's none of that with your channel it's very refreshing!
This!
So glad I've stumbled on to your channel. Just amazing tutorials all around. I've been using PS for years and all the techniques you're sharing blow my mind. Thank you!
i made the text effect but i dont know how to use it in one of my posters. Could you help please?
Some people pay a lot of money to universities to learn this. Your classes are first class.
Really amazed by your creativity! thanks for all these helps!
that shape burst method for distorting live type is so elegant
Man, you are A GENIUS !!!!
I send you much gratitude all the way from France :)
Cheers !

You are awesome Brady!
Such an underrated photoshop channel.
It looks absolutely awesome 👏
Awesome tutorial! Mine doesn't look as great as yours but the smoke and colors did give me another idea for my gaming community logo's, so thank you! I love that you are very explanatory and slow enough for someone to follow along without having to pause the video 400 times aha.
Wow this was incredible. Made some awesome stuff with this!
thankyou so much for the awesome tutorial! you deliver the steps very clearly!
Brady, you are amazing :) Love these techniques ... I can't imagine how much experimenting it must have taken, but thank you for sharing these techniques :)
I know nothing about Photoshop after this tutorial! Thank youuuu!
Hi Grady: I was revisiting some of your back tutorials and, damn, you do good work. The techniques are great, and your presentation is very conducive to learning.
I'm so glad I came across this tutorial:)
You a photoshop God, no one on RUclips has tutorials at this level. I would love to see tutorials on other things besides text
I know right, he hasnt scratched the surface, these are just text/tures

Excellent tutorial. Love your tutorials and of course your crazy edits. Had a great outcome on my edit for this. Please make more crazy effects
Right on, ya that actually makes an idea come to mind... Thanks!
Amazing like always, I hope more tutorials is coming in 2021
Appreciate that! A bunch of ideas for more on the way....
Dude you’re a wiz! Super underrated channel
Thanks Rishi!
Great Video Thanks!
Incredible
Thanks!
Because this is all non-destructive you could easily create an animated version of this by replicating everything in After Effects and using a video of smoke instead of the photo. Super cool effect!
man you're amazing ,it's like videocopilot but for photoshop
Exactly what I was thinking :D
out of curiosity, how'd you get to such a crazy photoshop-guru level? just hours and hours of experimentation?? your tutorials are absolutely nuts! OK GOOD
amazing... hope to see it for After Effects:)))
How is this channel having so few subscribers? Your work (and site) is awesome man! Keep it up. ❤
Really appreciate that! Ya, it's kind of a grind getting more exposure on the channel - I think youtube is tuned for things more viral than photoshop tutorials these days, ha. In it for the long haul though...so thanks for the kind words!
@@Texturelabs Not sure how long your channel has been up and running but with the quality of your content, you'll blow up soon enough. Definitely one of the best channels in this domain. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. Looking forward to further content.
I have to try to implement this effect moving smoke. It could be epic end result
I stumbled across your videos from bens ink after effects tutorial based on your ps techniques and WOW this was a cool tutorial impressive job!!! Just Subbed
I think your version of the "PAN" title was so eye-catching and much better than what they used. Disney is making "Hocus Pocus 2" for a fall 2022 release and this magic smoke effect would be perfect for the movie title. I agree with what someone here said that you are a scientist. I'd say you are a Photoshop Alchemist!
that looks awesome, imma definitely try this one day...
Awesome!
@@Texturelabs i tried it, came out great 👍 if you I want i could send you it
ya of course, would love to check it out - texturelabsorg at gmail!
I'd love to see that done in AfterEffects - I shot a load of smoke footage for a project, might try it!
awesome tutorial :)
Thanks
Cool, no problem!!
This channel deserves 1m sub!!
Ha, right on thanks!
0:13 you could say it was PANNED by the critics...
...ok I'll see myself out.
Edit: this channel is a gold mine of tips.
I am hitting like cause this video was extremely helpful, and I am subscribing because I like your Shirt
insane
@texturelabs
If you really want to make this pop even more when you've made a flattened image. Convert the image to a smart object and apply a Gaussian Blur at about 14 and select Soft Light. It'll give a really strong contrast glow, you can combat that with selecting 'Camera Raw Filter' and using these settings:
Contrast -100
Hi-lights -40
Shadows +59
Whites -27
Blacks +71
Vibrance +30
Texture +20
Contrast +100
DeHaze +30
Sharpening 90
Noise Reduction 36
Color Noise Reduction 70
Click Ok
Take that Gaussian blur that you applied and drag it above the Camera Raw Filter and that'll soften the harshness.
This process will give you a super rich HDR look.
Great Video!!
ooh great idea
sickkkkkkkkk
that will look crazy on my next instagram post, I'll let you know when I post it
LOOVE your tutorials and have been using them in so many projects. I'm working on a new project where I need to show text affected by the elements. I already know how to do burnt and your previous tutorial was a great example of how to show it wet. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about how to show paper and font muddied up or affected by soil or some sort of earth element. Thank you.
Hey Andres that's awesome, glad you've been able to use the tutorials! Just took a look through my random ideas folder - nothing that would fit the bill for muddy or dirty... I do have a pretty nice setup for type encased in ice. if you email me (address is in the About section on the channel page), I can send you the psd, might be worth messing around with...
wow...😍😮
cool my friend 😎👍
I would like to see it backlit with some light rays coming off the edges of the text. And add some film grain to the final product
seriously, you are the wizard of photoshop, brady - you had to have used magic to figure this one out
Haha thanks... no wizardry involved, just a lot of hours figuring out how to do things in a few minutes!
@@Texturelabs Attempted a Halloween layout...realized how much I didn't know...but finally arrived...pinned it www.pinterest.com/pin/266908715404930727/?nic_v2=1a17wcv0S
@@patriciaaiken Nice one, spooky! Hadn't occurred to me that this one came out just in time for Halloween... Thanks for posting!
This is magic. No pun intended.
@texturelabs
@11:03 To get that via the menu: Layer-Merge visible and hold the option key before you release the mouse.
I want to try and recreate this effect in After effects with an animated smoke. The only effect I'm not sure how to replicate is the Stroke>Gradient>Shapeburst effect. Need to figure that out, great tutorial though.
thank you woooooow
No prob!
@@Texturelabs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
A Photoshop ninja guru jedi
"Watched" to "Liked" ratio in these tutorials are consistently 10:1, which is insanely high. Every 10th person watching these videos clicks the like button. Also, "Liked" to "Disliked" ratio here is 2.4K to 1 - my best guess is, someone had a mouse slip and didn't notice, because this is the only theory that makes any sense.
Thanks Teach! I'm makin a bit of extra cash cause of you
Niiiiice
What else can i say @MAGIC@ ❣
Another great tutorial, I just wish my brain would retain all the useful info!
@3:41 🤯🤯🤯
just when you think you've mastered photoshop , this guy comes and slaps u in the face
太牛逼了!
make it in the motion poster form
Is there a way to generate or simulate frosty feathers of ice like on window glass? Watching this, engraved texture and color bleed makes me think it's possible.
