The method is very technical (depend on your understanding in art and drawing technique, and get to used in pen pressure sensitivity),

at 5:50, you said that since the group is in screen blending mode, gradient will only effect the layers that are inside. Could you please elaborate.

Great tutorial, gradient maps have far more use than i gave them credit for. At the start my guess for the method was to use a soft brush with fade/opacity jitter painting in black and white combined with soft light layers slightly offset from each other, colored with a hue/saturation layer. But the control this method gives and end result is far superior. Thanks =)
