Swordfish if they had done that they may have missed the escape pods with people in them. The empire’s gamble was that the escape pods with people in them were far more likely to have the plans.
In the chaos of battle you don’t have time to shoot everything. You have to choose your targets. In this case they chose poorly.

The CR 90 has so many engine thrusters in the back taking up so much space per ship size you would think it was the fastest ship under sublight speeds instead it's considered reliable because having so many it instead it's considered very balanced.
It's even called the blockade runner. It should be the fastest ship in the galaxy. But nope. For some reason it's just average.
Will always be one of my favorite ships. This is the epitome of Star Wars right here
I love that, during "Rise of Skywalker," a CR90 is in the background during Leia's funeral. It's almost Viking-ish. (Great leaders/warriors buried with their ship.)

@@dtinagliastudios Well, its a copy of Roj AND the writing is terrible. Instead of getting a new villain, they brang back Palpatine. They undid the chosen one prophecy, also Rey killed him so he should to took over him. He cloned himself so why is he on life support? I was like you when I first watched it, then I re watched it and realized everything wrong with it. The sequel trilogy was made for money, they ruined star wars. Rey deflected his force lightning and thats what killed him? Thats dumb. I mean, you can like it, but its dumb.

Wow seeing this video it just becomes clearer and clearer that this is one of the most well thought through ships in the galaxy. From the escape pods to the armour to the well thought through weaponry - this thing seems like a very safe vehicle to navigate through the Star Wars-Galaxy. Definitely one of my favourites!

Personal favorite besides the U-Wing. With massive customization choices I can basically turn it into nearly anything i want it to be. It can hold tons of cargo and have enough room to carry a Small army. Given its history I believe it can speak for itself.

Imagine getting into a fight with this thing and finally blowing it up just for a bunch little tiny rocket rooms swarm around and shoot you then just blast away into hyperspace

add some more point defense modules That would greatly improve its tactical application and destructive power, and also carry a full squadron or 2 of troops would be great.
make it cheaper and replace the single turbo lasers with the Charger C70's duel turbolaser cannons. and we have a winner

Very nice, always love back stories to sci-fi / fantasy stuff, I saw the first movie at what was then the new wide screen theaters w stadium seating, I was in the 2nd row so the destroyer just got bigger and bigger, great when you're 13. Keep up the good work !

What you’re describing is absurdly more expensive. And possibly unfeasible.
Also unstrategic. “Yes let’s make our ship who’s best tactical and strategic advantage is it’s speed and make it slower by adding a bunch of bulky armor”

Eric Andara me too but I would also modify it to have a few hanger bay as I think having more starfighters to protect my ship is wise in case if there is a group starfighter and/or bomber attacking the weak spots

This was one of my favorite rebel ship. She seems to have had many variants and with the modular design she could be turned into virtually anything needed. She did seem a bit under armed even for a corvette.

First, I was wondering when you would make a CR90 video and second, I didn’t think the inside and the outside would be big
Wow it’s a lot bigger then I thought
"Commander *tear this ship apart* until you've found those plans; And bring me the passengers, *_I WANT THEM ALIVE!"_*
And so they did. They literally tore that ship apart looking for the plans. That's how Vader wants his orders followed. To the letter, without question. If he says 'tear this ship apart', he doesn't mean 'look in every crevice and crawl space'. He means, quite literally, to forcibly rip every panel off, strip the ship down to the frame, and inspect everything for those stolen plans.
And then he had to put up with the Imperial Navy. Oafs like Ozzel, who are so busy second guessing his orders they shoot themselves in the foot by coming out of hyperspace too close to properly set up the cordon undetected, letting massive numbers of rebel forces escape what should otherwise have been a wall of destroyers and TIEs.
It funny the way you measure the distance. 5 dewbacks, 2 sandcrawlers, two turtle doves and a partridge in a peartree.

Definitely a really fun interesting ship, shows up a lot in the novels and the expanded universe. In one of the I think wraith Squadron novels there's a corellian Corvette decked out to carry Tie fighters internally.

Hey wait a second… there is an art piece in this that normally has an Asari ship but it’s replaced with a CR90… That’s a damned good edit too.
Night Crawler was actually modified twice, Wraith Squadron modified to original configuration to accomidate their X-Wings, while moving the TIEs to the escape pod areas.

I love it's anti-fighter role in Empire at War. 2 of those can take on any fighter and bombers. A little hard on taking down Tie-Defender

The ATST riding ontop of an ATAT is an interesting concept. Would have been cool if the ATAT could crouch or something, to allow the ATSTs ontop to jump off, which would require better jumping ability for the ATST. Would have been cool to have the ATAT as more of a vehicle and infantry carrier, requiring it to be lower to the ground, bit also still a tank in it's own right.
I love this ship. It's what Star Wars looks like to me as much as an ISD does.

I'm realizing now that the movies never do that good of a job communicating scale to the audience. This thing is twice the size I always thought it was until I was playing the first of the battlefront reboots and saw the crashed one on jakku
The first ship we see in Star Wars, and an iconic symbol of the rebellion. I wish I had the Lego model of this. Can it dock X-wings and Y-wings internally and externally, or are those to big? And those airlocks at the back on the sides don’t exactly look like airlocks, when I think airlocks I think of 2 doors, not 1

There can also be a way to have more than one starfighter inside the CR90 by removing some of the interior. May have to give up the room that is needed for housing the escape pods. Both armed and unarmed.
