it is "officially" pronounced Tan-tiv-ee like I mention at the end, but I laughed when I was grabbing clips for the next vid from the OG Battlefront 2, and noticed the great Temuera Morrison/Retired Clone Trooper narrating the 501st journal says it the way I prefer, Tan-tiv.

I can't imagine that 600 people could fit into the ship. There is just not enough space without additional modules. They would have to lay around even in the conference room and in the hallways. When i was younger i imagined the ship much bigger. But now we have the floorplans and its actually pretty small. And i like that. It must have been a more personal experience than in a Star Destroyer with thousands of other personal. Love that ship.

This is one of the big issues with legends lore. There's not really a standard scale set between authors so many view these ships as unimaginably huge when they would really be quite small and cramped. I would say these ships would have similar crew sizes to a WWII frigate or destroyer.

So, if the enemy shoots at your guns to destroy them (you know, normal behavior of any opposing ship, so that you don't hurt him any longer...) your escape Pods are gone - that doesn't sound very clever to me, more like a way to motivate the crew to fight harder ("they shot our escape Pods, we don't have any other means of survival - we will at least take a few more of them with us befor they get us!")

There's 4 normal escape pods (those domes on the angled sides, if I remember correctly) besides those 2 high capacity with a turret escape pods, so it shoud be fine... until enemy ship "accidentally" destroyed normal escape pods and now you and your crew stuck with two high capacity pods, that enemy could shoot on the pretense of you "firing at them" or "faking surrender" with pod's turret.

I wanted to see more Cr70s in Rogue one. frankly I think it should show up in the animated stuff in the clone wars doing what it's nickname states, running blockades. I think the history is that Alderaan bought a whole bunch to help supply the Republic troops by running CIS blockades and before the Rebels unified, by helping individual rebellions by supplying food and maybe secretly weapons , claiming to the Emperor that they were merely humanitarian purpose and for the civilians hurt by the rebellions. When Alderaan was force to dismantle their military, many of them disappeared to the rebellion. I can understand the lack of CR70s in the early movies, but after Lucas , is should be somewhat common. The rebels use a mix group of ships they can get their hands on.

    I gotta ask...
Why on Earth would you disguise an escape pod as a *turret?* Wouldn't turrets be priority targets for attacking vessels? I would think disguising an escape pod as a turret would have the opposite of the desired effect (namely, *attracting* fire to it). I'd think you'd want to disguise escape pods as something the attacking ship wouldn't bother shooting at?

For those wondering why R2-D2 didn’t have his memory wiped but C-3PO did, it’s actually for two probably reasons:
    1) nobody cares about astromechs. They are typically treated the same way as mouse droids of Gonks. You don’t see them till you need them, you give them orders, then you go back to ignoring them. Anakin or Hera learning Binary to speak to their droids is a VAST exception
    2) R2-D2 isn’t a snitch. C-3PO says he can’t wait till tell everyone about the birth of the twins, and he is known to casually surrender and give up information. R2-D2, on the other hand, is not only rather bratty to most people (but those he likes) but can easily be trusted to self-delete his memories in emergencies.

Star wars would not be star wars if it wasn't for his wife. New Hope would be like the Prequels if it wasn't for his wife and others editting out some of Lucas's stuff.
I am shock they let him name stuff. I will call the sea monsters aliens Calamari. and the fat rebel porky. This is why there is a fight on what the dark side of the force is. Lucas wanted to borrow from Taoism, but he also wanted a fight of good and evil. But you see people still trying to bring the force in line with the Taoist belief, of the dark side is not evil. You will see in the books, that there is Grey Jedis and you will remember, Qui Gon Jinn is saying we need balance in the force, and his master Count Dooku wasn't evil but try to balance the two, and now we got the Merrin, from jedi survivor being a dark force user , but a good guy. and we have to see where Ashoka goes, because remember, she realize Jedi's aren't really good, and left , and knew Darth maul has a point. I was hoping that we find out the villains of Ashoka are really grey Jedis who seek balance. also , remember Anakin is teaching Ashoka from the dead, and he is switching back and forth from his dark and light side, and in the end, Ashoka flashed some dark side attributes, and then we got the whole father and the son and daughter. The father is the good guy and wants balance, we need to ask what is the mother, since, the daughter is light, and son is dark. I say the mother is the imbalance.
Oh and my go to. The opposite of hate is not love, but indifference. The Jedi is against strong attachment, aka love, and disapprove of marriage. That means Love, or more precisely passion is a dark side attribute, but can you say love is an evil thing.
oK love of Padme led Anakin to the dark side, but love of his son, redeemed him.

Star Wars: Empire at War (usually referred as just Empire at War or EaW). I haven't played it yet, but only heard praises and amazements, so I recommend to play in spare time (need to play it myself, should be no problem running on weaker computers (I haven't checked requerments yet, so take my words with 10 gramms of salt), since the game is old). Also EaW is EXTREMLY moddable, so there's content for at least a MONTH to enjoy! And fun fact for the last sentence of this comment: Starcraft Real Scale mod (

The escape pods would have been more impressive if those cannons worked. This would give them the ability to defend themselves once launched.

    • @arachk

Agreed but i always figured any ship borne weapons {so even these escape pod mounted ones} need to be tied into the ship's engines/reactor. Unlike handheld blasters with a replaceable power cells.
So once the pod deployed, it wouldn't be able to fire any significantly powerful shots without eating into the emergency power reserves that would be needed for pod's life support and emergency manuerving thrusters

I still think the Original Star Wars Novel filled in the Unknown better than George. It had Owen Larrs as Ben Kenobi's brother, that's the ENTIRE reason Luke ended up in Tattooine, just imagine the Prequels now!

The old Extended Universe or E.U. Was never Canon to Lucas. The only Canon to him were his 6 live action movies and the animated movie that went with the Clone Wars series and of course the Clone Wars series itself. E.U. Was branded Legends by Disney, that is all. They didn’t change Canon to Legends.

You completly got the Escape Pods wrong. The Escape pods are the 4 Bumps along the vessels flanks, each of which has a small turbolaser atop it. The Center line turrent which projects above and below the ship is no detatchable, though it is likely modular allowing alternative weapons. But laser canons are not the stock configuration, it's all turbo-lasers, all be it light ones, do not confuse them for laser-cannons. Rather sloppy research and amaturishp video if you ask me, you should take it down and not contribute to misinforming people.

lol what a response, peace be with you. You are wrong. google "cr70 schematic star wars" there is one that has the blockade runner and the CR70 Sundered Heart on top. Even if I was wrong what a silly way to act. Feel better. I'll try to comment with the link idk if YT will let me

    • @MetaNerdzLore
      @MetaNerdzLore  8 месяцев назад +3

it is not like any of this is clear 100% but I would be less wrong, as it is stated that the CR70 has 2 High-capacity escape pods mimicking turrets, and there are the 4 you mentioned on the sides. I would take that to mean there are 4 normal and 2 high capacity being faux turrets as shown here
