Hi, FYI the portuguese chrono features the 79350 not the 79320. 79320 is used in the Pilot chrono and aquatimer chrono. It also features a day-date display. Hope this helps.
great review with some useful info and insights i love the look of this watch, apart from the 12 and 6 being chopped. I'd have preferred IWC to leave the numbers off at these two locations.
There's a big difference between buying an Invicta with a fresh out of the case low end ETA movement and a high end piece based on an ETA movement. Many times the baseplate/platine and wheels are the only thing that's not custom built.
Hey thanks I am a fan of yours! Am planning to get either IWC portugues or audemars piguet royal oak steel or Date just in steel. I just cant make up my mind and would really appreciate a second opnion. I know its a silly question and its a matter of teaste but ... thanks!
I own one of these; the rose gold version. I have a question. Is the movement supposed to work uninterruptedly, even if I do not wind it? Mine stops maybe after 24-36 hrs. if I do not wear it, but I was told it should not stop. I paid about $1000 to get is fixed becasue it stopped working.
looked at this one today very nice classy watch from IWC but theres no date function and it is a 7750 movt. which at $7k is pretty high in price for what you should get. i think a better iwc to go with would be a ingenieur that has the in house movt. and is a little cheaper
This is the chronograph automatic. Valjoux 7750 IWC finish. The one with the sapphire case back is the 7 day automatic with the 5001 movement. Different price range.
I know it's a sore subject about knockoffs (copies). If I was rich, and into watches I would by all originals. Love IWC. Nowadays there are fakes for anything. And that is what my IWC is. Hell, most Americans don't have a clue about IWC. Rolex, all they know.
I wouldn't like anything other than the non-chrono version of it, for chrono I'd go with the Yacht Club or something, this one just screws up the look, style, depth, and seems too ad-lib of a gimmick to subject the Portuguese style to.
***** Non! You just don't crap on the lovely dial like that by cramming in a chrono movement with its huge, obscuring sub dials. You are tasteless imbecile to horology, that watch is declasse! Heh...

Portuguese Chrono is one of my favorite IWC watches, gotta love the three piece case. Even better in 18k rose gold!
possibly the best looking watch ever, its so elegant
Hands down my favorite watch...

@elenchus
It's all down to taste, and whether you think the "in-house" selling point is more than just that.
@textthing You're right, but why pay so much when you could have finer in house movements from Grand Seiko, Breguet, Zenith or Vacheron?

IMO, this is the perfect watch. I couldn't care less about whether the movement is in-house or not.
Hi im new with watches and i would like to buy a Mechanical watch. However, I dont want to spend too much on them so do u have any suggestions?
this piece is ICONIC, disregard all the negative comments

good review (aigan)!
Nice watch as well..

Hi, Can anyone advise this model is a ETA movement or IWC in-house movement. Thank you!
Thanks for the informative review.
Too much slurred speech around 0:22. What are you saying ? "Junish a pattening on the subdials there"? What does that mean?
This watch currently retails for $7,900 USD.
How much does this go for?
The Valjoux 7500 is not a "crappy movement."
Beautiful
beautiful
Damn I love this watch
Valjoux 7500 for 7k? that's insane. I love the design though.
I got one that looks like that! I paid $9,000 for it! and I kinda don't like the armband, it feel like sand paper.
I still think that the case looks bigger than 40.9 mm.
Brandon Pierson Same thing I discovered when trying it on.
This watch should have sapphire crystal on both side. The back side should be see though
you sir making fool out off your self. there is a glass back version and not a glass back.

thought this would have a clasp
The rose-gold version is mouch nicer tho.....

Dislike how the 12 and 6 are chopped off..
