Damn, feel for professor X. He saw an opportunity to turn magneto around, free cyclops, and find love himself... and it would've worked too, if it wasn't for those meddling mutant racist, and their killer robot, too
lol this is funny…
funny but true
And that’s exactly the reason he should’ve known it would never work
Honestly how he could not see killer robots on the bingo board is actually surprising given how it’s happened multiple times before.
lol this man is nothing but a hypocrite
The funny thing is that Cyclops would've left the X-Men if he wasn't worried about Magneto leading them. Xavier took a decision for them, and it only pushed Cyclops in the opposite direction
Scott was still probably going to leave. Till Jean showed up at their door.
He did leave or try to leave a couple times but he always comes back.
Let’s be honest this is one of a long list of things Professor X messed up on
Which kinda proves Cyclops point. He won't quit ever. It just shows Xavier's personal flaws. He martiryzes himself, and pushes people away from him by not sharing the weight. He'd only share it with Magneto. It puts Cyclops at his shadow.
Cyclops WAS about to leave the X-Men under Magneto's supervision if it wasn't for Sinister's machinations. It's as he and the professor said; fate pulls them in.
I mean... Magneto actually did a good job. Human let him down.
Exactly lol this is one issue I had with the episode. Magneto did everything right. Humanity attacked genosha and he fought back. So why is all the blame on him ?
@@The_Mad_Titan_007 Because it wasn't every single human attacking Genosha. It was a cabal of assholes, which included Mr Sinister of all people. And Bastion who is also a mutant.
He's lashing out at an entire species over the actions of a few.
The sentinels attacked genosha , humanity’s crime was not opening their borders to refugees and not sending aid
@@randomcenturion7264 he isn't lashing out on humanity though. The EMP stopped the sentinels. The ones that were gonna kill the X men
@The_Mad_Titan_007 He is about to cause an apocalypse on humans who had nothing to do with Genosha. And his genocide will include mutants too. Roberto is going ahead with genocide because his mom betrayed him.
I think they're being unfair here. Magneto did honestly try to reform himself and things were going well. No one predicted Genosha.
Magneto did. Constantly warned Charles What humans were capable of. Some people are saying bastian, is a mutant and what not, but he's a human sentinel. Less we forget sentinels were created by humans.
@Brklynking93 but that's also ridiculous coming from him. Apocalypse was the first known mutant and he tried to wipe the universe out since the beginning of time. The sentinels pale in comparison to some mutants who have the power to make change , the megalomania to judge everyone, and the intelligence to make it happen
@@Brklynking93 The two masterminds behind Gneosha were Bastion, a mutant and Mr.Sinister, also a mutant
@@Brklynking93both the masterminds behind Genosha are mutants. And Magneto, a mutant too, tried to genocide humankind now and in past too.
@@1986Hikaru Bastion is not a mutant. And Sinister wasn't born a mutant, he basically scienced himself into one.

I blame the villain The Editor for that.
"Why didn't you just put Storm in charge?"
"I... huh."
The relationship between Xavier and Magneto has always been complicated.
complicated and Tóxic Relationship
Complicated is putting it mildly
I remember seeing a meme saying you can totally interpret the story is really about Charles and Eric's breakup and making it everyone else problem. 🤣
What I love about this show is each sides perspective is thought out so well. Cyclops and Professor X. Magneto and the X-Men. Their motivations and emotions are thought out so well that's its so hard to pick a side and say who's right.
I side with Xavier and Cyclops, this entire Genosha thing was done by Bastion who himself is a mutant, sure humans are to blame too but humans themselves were used against their will and transformed into Prime Sentinels
@theamazingspooderman2697 alot of humans signed up for it
@@theamazingspooderman2697 Bastion's existence is a direct result of the original sentinel program. Which was backed by a majority of the human population. Plus in the previous episode we see that Bastion is also backed by human groups.
@@theamazingspooderman2697Humans in this world choose to be weapons to an avoidable world instead of learning and unifying so they are as much to blame as Bastian.
Well Cyclops chose to help Magneto at the wrong time cause Charles has to stop him. Scotts selfishness is Jean and things about him. And thats really why Professor chose the wiser Magneto
This heart crushing for Charles, he had good intentions.
That’s Charles’ problem though. He thinks with his heart too much and ironically often ignores his head.
Everything about Beast screams Professor from the top of its lungs. Storm could do it easily. Even Wolverine has proven capable at the job. Any of those choices leave Scott and Jean free to go off.
Making Magneto head of the school was one last shot at trying to change his friend who he knew had made up his own mind in a different direction. It was Charles attempting to manipulate Magneto with *good intentions*
@@jaycol21 and we all know which afterlife destination path is laid with good/the best of intentions. (Hint; it's not heaven.)
@@davidchism6081 So if you want heaven you have to go into everything with the most evil, vile intentions? Somehow that will work out?
@@Commanderziff no. That's not what I meant exactly.
@@jaycol21thats the perfect way to put it and I think a perfect way to show the flaws of this version of Xavier. He wants the best for them but thinks only he can decide that for them. Magneto whether he likes it or not made up his choice on where he sides on how mutants should deal with humanity. Charles making Magneto the leader of the X-Men was a misguided attempt to bring his friend into his life his family and all it resulted in was solidifying Magnus choice that a world of no humans is the only world mutants can survive in

@@cosmictraveler1146 I'm about to say the N word
I can see how Charles can be a tiresome person to everyone around him. He tries to be a goodie goodie so much that he forgets he batlanty make choices about people lifes without their consent.
It's ironic, Professor Xavier, despite being the most powerful Telepath of the X-Men, thought more with his heart than this mind and it led to him deciding what was best for the X-Men without getting to understand their point of view. Putting Magneto in charge wasn't without merit but given Magneto's history and overall cynical attitude towards humans, to quote Tony Stark, "Not a great plan."
I’d be cynical towards humanity too . Cyclops nearly got beat
To death by an anti mutant vigilante, storm got shot and lost her powers. Mutants thrown into prison etc .
Beast would have been my choice cause he is the oldest. Scott has too many flaws and its different leading a team of attack and being a teacher of students. Storm and Wolverine make no speeches they just fallow loyalty to the professor whether scott likes it or not . Logan now is hurt bad and i mean they dont know he isnt dead cause that is pain
Notice he walks through the rubble of the wall so Prof. cannot follow
Great attention to detail. That’s messed up.
No one could've predicted Genosha. Otherwise this would have worked perfectly
But Magneto knew since he saw the signs of humanity repeating certain mistakes even though it was both Bastion and Mr. Sinister along with their associates Trask and Gyrich. Cyclops even said if himself in episode 7 and while Magneto may have been right about a few things it doesn’t mean what he’s doing is right either especially since he should go after the people truly responsible for what happened on Genosha.
I’m convinced this is leading up to Onslaught
there's no way it isn't
@@badnoodlez I was kind of hoping for Age of apocalypse. Either way, let the 90’s nostalgia rip.

I am surprised that Xavier returned to Earth with a wheelchair.
I thought Lilandra will let him keep the prosthetic legs to walk properly he had during his stay at Shiar Empire.
Xavier for all his knowledge is very prideful. If I assuming him and the queen broke up amidst the shiar conflict then he wouldn’t have accepted those gifts upon leaving her.
Unless I'm missing something, I'm guessing Magneto's initial EMP fried the exo-suit?
@@johnnygyro2295 seems like it. Though when magneto did the whole emp the earth thing in the comics, the shi ar tech still working was an important factor to the X men still being able to run operations
Don't some couples that break up end up asking for their stuff back, even the ones that are gifts? I remember seeing this happen in shows that took place in the 90s and this X-Men series still takes place in the 90s
He still has them, but they were broken by Deathbird.
When it comes to "Xavier made a bad decision that made things worse," this isn't as bad compared to the comic version.
To me, Charles has deep faith in Erik (Magneto), he has the potential to be a great leader for the X-Men.
The people around him, the antagonists, rob him of that chance to prove his worth.
I wonder if in another universe, Genosha was a successful haven, and Magneto led the X-Men into the ultimate protectors of both humans and mutants.
There might've been a "What if.." issue involving that long ago, don't know if there was a reprint of it or not.
Professor X is a prime example of blinded by his naivete.
We already saw that when he ignored Wolverine's warning about sabertooth
@@EPGamer22It wasn’t naive. X might’ve known that Wolverine was probably right about Sabretooth, but he also knows everybody deserves a second chance.
@kingstarscream320 Well, sabertooth did kill the women logan love and people he know so it understandable if he never want to forgive him
How ironic, Xavier tried to give Scott and Jean a life where they could live, and here is Scott being resentful, just Scott and Madelyn sent Nathan to the future to give him a better life only for him to be resentful.
basically they all had good intentions, but they all came crashing down due to events both in and out of their control.
IT'S NOT THE SAME AT ALL. Xavier attemped to manipulate Scott to make him do it what he belived was better to him without thinking on what he wanted, Scott tried to savehis son's life since he had no other option but see him die.
@@xCoatlicuex It's the same. Two father's trying to do what they believe is best for their respective sons. Xavier wanted Scott to enjoy life outside of being an Xman and have a sense of normalcy. Scott sent his son in the future in hopes of saving him. Both did what they thought was best, only for their sons to resent them.
@@wingadept8793Uh..no.
Scott is an adult. Charles should have TALKED with him about his wishes for Scott (and Magneto).

I assume the alien bird people have wings. What do they need legs for?
Weird right, things happen at Genosha. Probably if Magneto werent taking charges as leader, the Genosha event probably not happen, maybe. Because Xavier school were not attacked at that time. Since Magneto were opposite to Charles, wonder if Bastion actually let that happen, event at Genosha, and letting Magneto lives, since Bastion aka Nimrod + Master Mold foresaw the future together. Just a thought 🤔 and i probably wrong after all.
The entire series is a Canon Event, nothing can change that.
@@keroro407 Nimrod come from future and change something like his fusion with Master Mold aka Bastion, the Sentinel did change the past, but as Cable did try to change it, it was prevented by unknown reason. Probably by the absolute point spoke by kamar taj as Beast refer to it. You right, canon event probably a good way to described it, mate 🤔.
Magneto or not, Bastion would have happened.
in all timelines, Genosha will always form, and the massacre will always happend, the only thing that changes between Earths is who is responsable for it
Yeah I'm still wondering why he safe Magneto? 🤔
It feels like I'm watching a show that was made by adults.
This feels like something Spielberg would have made in the eighties.
Now if only live action can get back to that.
Tense very Tense.
You can say your here Charles but gambit isnt and i think thats more then enough freedom
This Xavier (since there been others if you think of the multiverse) is an interesting take on the character. He is one who makes decisions but tries to not take responsibility for the consequences that happened because of it. He did the same mistake in the first season when he thought he could help Sabretooth, despite Wolverine’s warnings and his experiences with him. Didn’t learn then, didn’t learn now.
His idyllic dream of things working out cannot be done by making decisions alone. He needed and still needs to make decisions with “his X-Men” asmen and women, since they are now adults and not the kids he recruited.
There is a difference in taking responsibility for some things and not everything. I'm not gonna take all the flak for things that were not only out of my or anyone else control or periphery. In this case, he should be more accepting of some of the blame, but at the same time I get what he was trying to do and Scott should too.
Tbf Xavier had no way of knowing Bastion would show up. If Bastion didn't show up magneto really would've stayed a good guy, making xavier's call the right one since Xavier would've turned Magneto into a good guy.
If the professor wanted Scott and Jean to be free to start a family, why not put Storm in charge instead?
Fact's but he chose his best friend to lead instead of trusting the others
Because he was trying to kill two birds in one stone. Having the X-men being lead by Magneto, also means he won't be their enemy.

To be fair, magneto did do a decent job trying to honor professor Charles Xavier‘s wishes.
A very good job! But people just keep pushing his buttons. Eventually, those buttons broke he couldn’t take it anymore!
@@windpunkYT Exactly everyone has their breaking point and magneto has reached his and surprise surprise he ended up being right
He did warn them so I don't blame him. He did a good job as leader hell
Yes but Eric blames as Humans but it was Mr Sinister a Mutant and Apocolypse that will probably inslave more mutants . To set the world right Pheonix will like have to do something. I like Magneto but this attack would is same issue with terrorists for humans really. Erik can never except Good and Bad Humans excist and Good and bad Mutants he always falls back to kill all humans and it be safe but killing humans is killing them selves cause mutants are humans
I don’t see why people are upset at Charles for leaving. He was shot and dying and going to space was his only hope of survival. Would it really have been better if Charles had just died at the end of the original series? You could say leaving magneto in charge might have been a mistake, but erik was ready to step up and be a good leader until the massacre. Charles’s dream had briefly been realized, but the sentinel attack on genosha was something no one saw coming and no one could have prevented (and cable tried).
What I'm going to say might get me kicked off of RUclips.

Oh please Cyclops well this version acts like a baby all the time. He falls in love with the Clone more then Jean and jean forgives him but Cyclops also cheated on jean with Emma Frost or still could yet cause if Pheonix returns she may not hand her back over to be hurt more
I understand the professor's reasoning here. He just didn't count on human hatred. Trask made the sentienls. The sentinels sent Baston to the past. Charles was too naive. He wanted to see the good in all people. And that's where the difference is from Magnus. Eric sees all the bad in people because he lived through it. He survived a horrific genocide only to be thrust into another one. But Eric still tried to honor his formerly dead friend's wishes. Which is why he responded so harshly when he was freed. Eric doesn't know how to pull his punches because, to him, it's always a fight for survival.
Magnus doesnt see Mutants are Humans or cant . He always thinks killing Humans means mutants will be better. Mutants would carry on the idea of hate but with powers its worse those who want harm others
So he wanted more for scott, to not be tethered to the mansion or the xmen not realizing that it was his destiny perhaps.
I mean, it was a good call. Magneto was going to be an excellent leader for them, and he did everything right.
Magneto’s mistake was partying to early. With his experience he should have prioritized the defense of genosha. But he succumbed easily to playing king ang queen with rogue.
Xavier is spelled with an "e", and it's " *putting* Magneto in charge", not "making Magneto in charge".
Yo, how is no one holding Cable to account? Dude's been making trips back in time for years and never thought to mention to anyone that Genosha was coming.
Because he wasn't aware. Bastion is the result of the nimrod that was sent to kill xavier in high school getting blown apart by bishop, alternate wolverine and storm merging with a janitor. This was already altered history compared to when cable came the first time from the future ruled by apocalypse. Truth is no matter what cable does the future will either end up in the sentinels hands or apocalypses
Damn.
Cyclops gets mad at Xavier
I still don't understand why Magnus is blamed for this. Human and Bastion involvement lead to the awful event in Genosha
L like X Men.poor Scott
Why didn’t Charles pick Storm or Beast or Logan!
Exactly, Ororo and Hank McCoy would've been perfect. Logan is too impulsive for that kind of responsibility.
All I really heard was him saying he didn't want them to carry the burden, What Scott is really asking, why did you give Magneto this burden, AND WHAT MADE U THINK ID BE OK WITH IT
Having issues here?
Fuck this Magneto slander. All throughout the show, the mutants have been raw-dogged by cowards masquerading as protectors of humankind. Erik pulled through during the Madolyn Prior incident, he was of more help at Genosha than Charles could’ve been, and he was able to get Genosha recognized as an independent nation by the UN before it got razed to the ground.
That “shut up” was satisfying af
Look out everyone we got a mutant supremacist here. Homo sapien genocide has arrived 🙄
@@tombick9311and hilarious cause he never said that before
You might be stupid
What Magneto is too blind to see it's that all the Genosha incident is MUTANT STUFF, made for Sinester a MUTANT HIMSELF, with help of Bastion a mutant/machine hibrid, as terrible as humans can be Genosha was not on them
MAGNETO SR??? RLY??? WTF DUDE????
They're acting like Magneto just made them do malicious stuff when he was in charge stuff was going well until Bashian and the Government blew up Genosha and now they conveniently wants to put him in the bad guy slot again. Also if the genocide thing didn't happen Scott would've took over again since Magneto was gonna rule Genosha so yeah it wouldn't have mattered
It more or less that Magneto would be the big one to break if something traumatic happened, and while he did hold longer than any of us would have expected. They knew something would have had to push him to his breaking point eventually. And when that happens Magneto becomes very VERY destructive. Hence throwing the world into parallel because of Genosha. The problem is he will make things worse not just for humans, but mutants a like.
Edit: Another thing to note is that Magneto is no different when it comes to mutantphobes, he is essentially human phobic too. If the worse of humanity does something terrible, he rounds that up to all of humanity. Just like most humans do to mutants, they see destructive mutants like Magneto, Apocalypse, Sabretooth, Mystique and assume that's how all mutants are.
Symmetry, my friend.
lets be clear the president and Gov didnt order the strike it was that women the x-men trusted
Having your unstable friend leading your kids is irresponsible. Even if your friend is trying to be better, you don't let him leading your family without you monitoring him closely first. You need to see yourself how he handles problem, before giving him bigger control and responsibilities.
Why is Scott mad that Xavier gave magenta the school? He didn’t do this?
I miss when professor x was a flawed but good guy. Comics have ruined his character
I don’t mind spoilers and haven’t seen the episodes so…
Hadn’t Xavier died? How he revived?
What made up controversies these shows have. Why not give it to Storm then. He gave it to Magneto so the audience could be shocked. lol.
Why wasn’t Wolverine made leader?
He’s a hothead.
So Xavier never wanted Scott to be leader he wanted him to leave the X-men with Jean (Madelyn) Chuck you had the best man to lead the X-men and you threw all away because you couldn’t see past your pride if it were to me I would leave X-men and start my own X-men lead them but not in the hands of Xavier
Well Scott has his issues and its normally about Scott. He cares but he lacks wisdom but the Fake Jean was already put in play and that alone is what ruined the x-men. So maybe Killing Cabel would have saved us all cause no Baby or Clone Jean and no family X-Men issues
This isn't Magnetos fault, i mean he saw thousand's of his people slaughter. Again
Charles is so used to always picking moral and good choices, he hasnt considered when he needs to make the logical choice. Look how much hes lost and how much he gained. Two steps forward. One step back. You think its progress sure but is it worth it?
Sorry but Ross Marquad Xavier sounds nothing like Cedric Smith take
Cyclops is my favorite hero in all comic books but I can definitely side with Xavier on this one. He did what he thought was best for Scott and Jean. Hope Scott will someday understand that
no one id denying Charles intentions. the problem is he executed them poorly and didn't factor a lot of things in that he should have known.
Genosha i can let slide, but even i knew Scott wouldn't leave with Magneto around.
Scott had right to take his own desitions, Xavier was manioulating him, yes he had "good intentions" but dosen't quit that he was taking desitions for Scott based jut in what he thought would make him happy instead of talking with him, And Scott wanted to leave until Magneto arrived and he gets worried so let Magneto in charge actually made him stay.
It's going to take Scott going through a personal hell to reach that understanding, and people he gives a damn about will pay a price for it.
Hank McCoy or Storm would've been a better choice.
In charles Defence, magneto acually did a good job
Charles should get locked up, this is all his fault stuff happened maybe not everuthing but he messed up royally for some booty
You are overreacting, bub! He didn’t start this, humans did! Magneto was protecting mutants! This isn’t his fault, it’s Bastion’s fault! This was all going to happen, regardless if Scott or Eric led the team
How was Xavier supposed to know that when Nimrod traveled back in time to kill him while he was still in college and failed due to the intervention of Wolverine, Storm, and Bishop of the same or adjacent timelime, Nimrod would leave a sample of himself that bond to a janitor, who would then knock up a woman, who would then give birth to child who is part Sentinel and have the preprogrammed mission of establishing a world where Sentinels ruled and Mutants would either be oppressed or exterminated?
