I usually use a big buffing machine for the last making. However, in this case, I made it only with hand tools in case the buffing machine broke down. Wood that is hard to some extent and clogged to some extent. If there is no large wood, use laminated wood. The hardness of the wood is the hardness that the lasting nail can be fixed.

Awesome video. Brings up memories: I was trained as a prototype builder in chair-making and making the patterns for spindle copying machines is very similar as you are always making a left and a right pattern with hand tools in hardwood as well...
