I disagree. Did you see the last video of this car that he uploaded? If they care about presentation, that car never should have given to anyone, let alone reviewers.
it must feel great to get to the stage when a company like aston martin values your opinion so much that they facilitate another drive for you. more power to you matt!
You guys complaining about the noise clearly has no idea what these monsters sounds like in real life. If this thing flew past you on the freeway youd just about cream your pants, trust me. Camera mics just doesn't pick it up, you have to be there and hear it yourself.
What a polarizing car. People seem to either love or hate the styling. Same with the engine, the comments are all over the place. It's interesting when cars evoke such strong emotional responses on either side of the spectrum. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but it reminds me of a piece of controversial artwork or movie. The creator of that art wanted to evoke emotion, and for some people they have love and others hate, and that's how this is for the new Aston. It's nice to see Aston pushing some boundaries.
JoMaHa That's an interesting comment! Right, this car is polarizing! Looks amazing, designwise and having this fantastic bright colour... but having the "wrong" heart! A huge part of Aston Martin for me allways was Styling and Sound! Now, there's an AMG engine inside... Never been a fan of the sound from AMG engines and to me, this is a bit of a letdown... Soo,there's only Design left...
Car people are just spectacularly full of shit. I should know, I am too. But we're all frankly idiots bitching about utter nonsense half the time. As for the sound, people are judging engine sounds from videos which is just ridiculous. You are lacking a lot of the feel of the engine from a video, always, due to the loss of the mic first, then compression etc.
The first pull on the window is to let one raise it the height they want to. If one wants to raise it all the way up, then simply double click it for it to go to the top.
I've had 3 Ftypes including SVR, 1 XKR, EPACE 240, 1 AM DB11 and now the new AM Vantage. 10 years = no electrical issues. I've just got rid of Taycan 4S which had many electrical issues and software issues with a mass shortage of qualified EV mechanics (check out Taycan Forum). Aston are in relative terms a small manufacturer and to a large degree they use third party mechanical parts and rely on exclusivity, bespoke design and craftsmanship. I can guarantee that you'll have more admirers driving an iconic brand such as AM than you ever will in in Porsche 911 which is its direct competition.
That is not cold. Where I live it is currently -13C together with 1/3rd metre of snow on the ground. Therefore my GT4 continues to rest in the garage until late March.
F-type R/SVR is superior. This is a very nice, more luxurious car. Negative is there are no Aston dealers in many large cities. None in PDX here. JLR dealers everywhere. Overall, F-type SVR would be a better choice.
Upper half of the 39? I'm not from that area, but I was doing some research a month or two ago for an event I am planning for a car club and wanted to do the 39 to 2 loop and found out that the top section of 39 has been closed since the late 70's. I assume he started at the gate where it's closed...
Synthetic noise fed into the cabin through the speakers. A lot of manafacturers are doing it and honestly I like it. I like have the exhaust sound on throttle and absolutely NO sound off throttle, when I'm cruising, listening to a podcast or talking to my friends. Exhaust drone is fucking annoying as shit.
The car sounds like Otis Jenkins. I'm glad that Aston Martin, not only watches this show, but take great interest in how their brand is presented, and actually fixes the issues that are pointed out but experts like Matt
So quality is still a problem. Give it 3-4 years for them to work out the kinks then maybe consider it. These cars for journalists are usually thoroughly checked and someone was aware of the originals panel gaps and issues.
@@TheLentastic same price different car, some Ferrari's and Bentleys are the same price.... but clearly both absolute different attitude towards "mobility" ;)

I think it sounds decent for a present time german engine. It is FAR from the class i expect from an Aston Martin though. I don't want an Aston to sound german.
Electronic teething issues should be fixable - surprising issues considering how much is borrowed from Merc. These exhausts are glorious sounding. Glad the panel gaps are fixed, providing a press car with panel gaps was not good.
Hey Matt, long time lurker, first time subscriber here. Do you have any polarizing filters on your front-facing camera? It might help cut down the glare from the dash if you don't already have one installed. Either way, awesome videos.
This car is incredible !!! I think your being over critical regarding this amazing machine. I drove this car many times and i did own a 911.992 S. I would pick this one over the 911 in a heart beat. My personal opinion

It would be fantastic to see Matt review the manual Vantage. May be the last of its kind available with 3 pedals and I am interested in an upgrade to my manual F-Type S.
excellent as a connoisseur of fine Astons and you being an owner you hold the standard bar higher and it should meet them with a certain chill and relaxing familiarity.
Well Matt has to respect that. I saw his first review and he did say that maybe his version was a preproduction but I give Aston Martin props for sending him another to at least confirm if he still had the same issues. And I do agree with Matt from the last video. While I love Aston and desire their previous and current cars, however sometimes I think they initially leave out the factory a little half-baked too. I didn’t really see a good shot of the enlarged pipes.
Matt how does this car compare to the 718 Spyder? I have a Spyder considering the Vantage V8. It’s an either or situation, so it’s got to count. Appreciate you and great vid.

Always love the scenery and topography of the mountain / canyon roads, but that speaker reflection in the windshield... is that visible to the driver? If so, yuck. The induction noises from the AMG power plant were wonderful.

That back end is incredible.
Andrew Elias don’t know. It looks sad. Like a bad copy of the F-type
Rear end is phenomenal, front end is absolute garbage. How the hell could designers at AM give that car a Miata front end?
The whole car looks amazing... except the tiny stock exhaust tips! That would be my first mod! ;-)

Good to know they value the presentation of their vehicle/brand. Still a beautiful looking car as always.

Welcome To The Madness the front looks extremely weird. No other car has the grille as the lowest point

The styling has definitely gone downhill in the Mercedes-era Aston Martins.
