We still have the stock gears. It has always done well off road when its in low. This time around I went to 31s and it made good highway speeds. Good as in over 60mph.
You're suppose to use both those gaskets ; why do you think they gave it to you? The thick gasket makes the header stand out from the head so the shared bolts and clamp washer are on a level plane; your header will leak now as it's not properly installed.
What do you mean returning? I will have to check to see if they were even open, I believe they came with plugs. The catalytic converter got so crazy hot. It started to melt the carpet and the floor mat started smoking. I took it out for now.
@@christopherzeekee1225 I drilled the front to start, then what ever did not fit. Hope that helps. It is still holding up and did help with a little more power.
@@FloridaJeepRides i have not did it yet, iam waiting for when i have to take it off and can grind it out with intake off, so i dont get shavings down in intake
Cool and good video, thanks! I actually have a 2.5L XJ, and I'm trying to do everything as I can to help power and gas mileage. Have you noticed any changes in your jeep after the header install? Is it a little better? Please let me know!
Mainly, its louder. A little more power but not too much. The intake had a crack so it was needed. I have installed a quieter muffler and removed the kat. The head melted the carpet. The biggest change was dropping down to 31s. Eventually I will change the gears and go back to 33s.
Thank you for the most detail oriented removal and installation tutorial I’ve seen yet.
Makes it easy.
You gotta subscriber.
Awesome, thank you!
FOLLOW UP: We have replace the muffler with a quiet flow do to the loud drone sound on trails. The header is still holding up well and no leaks.
That coffee was straight milk lol, that being said... nice Jeep bro
Randi makes the coffee - Me it's always the instant stuff.
I'm on my second Borla (the first one actually cracked)
Awesome sound 😁
I had to pull the Caddi off because of the heat issue through the floor. It melted the carpet. Other then that it's all good.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who still runs squirrel power under my hood!! Have you geared your yj?

They only sent one gasket, the one I used was a upgraded gasket that covers the header and intake. So far no leaks or burns.
The link in the description does not work anymore. Can you possibly comment another link? And has it rusted at all?
I have seen that. There might be another company selling them.
Any retuning now without the cat? I see there were 2 02 sensor holes. 1 in the end of the header and end of three down pipe

The 1995 2.5l wrangler doesn't have a flange to bolt up to the catalytic converter. It's a slip joint from the factory
Thank you for the info. For now I pulled the converter, it was melting the carpet.
Do you think this header will fit my 88 2.5l is the engine size the same? Cause they don’t make these for my year Yj
That I am not sure of, if you could find a 2.5L and measure the distance it might help. I had to drill the header to get to bolt up any way.
@@FloridaJeepRides did yo drill all three holes or just the far back one

HOW MUCH DID THE HESDER HELP?
drill out intake while its off for a larger thottle body ???

Done

Great vid. Thx
Thank you very much. Appreciate you watching.
was thinking of putting a header on wifes 94 2.5 , but that sucks its not a direct bolt on, did it wake it up any ?
It's still working - The YJ is getting passed on to my oldest son and he loves it.
Did the throttle body spacer help? Thinking of running one on mine but dont wanna spend the money if it's a waste of time
Yes it did help. Every little bit counts, gears would be the best.
Hey fellow jeeper I'm looking at that very header for my xj but I need to get studs just to hang the header do you know thw tread pitch in the head
Well that's nice but the jack ass I got the truck from replaced the motor and never put them back
@@FloridaJeepRides that Why I asked what's the tread pitch so in can pick 2 studs up
I think I just took the old ones to Napa and they got what I needed.
amazon links are broken. is there a model name you purchased?
Looks like they are not selling them currently. I cant even find one from another brand. Summet racing may have one that fits. www.summitracing.com/
Any difference in drivability?
Not too much. It fixed the manifold leak and sounds a little better.
Just a thought... How about some exhaust sealer and tape to fix the problem ?
That would have worked. Looking back I thing when it gets time to change, I will quiet things down a bit.
My 4 cyl 97 YJ is loud enough with stock muffler and exhaust! lol
I hear you.... no pun intended.
