I'm 60. The first concert I went to was John Denver's. Giant fan all my life. I was a quiet kid into reading, hiking, playing the guitar and starting ecology projects - my town's first recycling collection was what I started in grade school and recieved an award from then President Nixon. I still love John Denver's music and what he stood for in life.
I agree. I think it's not right that only very few people can live like this. However when that person is someone as grateful and caring as John Denver it's really lovely. They do not take it for granted. He always gave back.
Wow!! Beautiful House...Beautiful Nature.. very promising atmosphere & heavenly peaceful surrounding where the home of John Denver lies..in Aspen Colorado.. Thanx for a fantastic view..
Loved his music and of course the song Annie which I’ve listened to 3 x’s already and found this video. Now my 16 year lovvveeess playing Country Roads in the car. Sorry your friend is gone, sometimes friends are closer to you then your own family members.
I love him too Thomas and regularly pay tributes to him on the singing app Smule. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten. His thoughtful lyrics and easy voice resonate with every generation. I was able to see him in concert many years ago in Toronto Ontario.
Now whenever I listen to john denver I picture him sitting on that balcony playing his guitar "it's a long way to starwood in aspen, my sweet rocky mountain paradise"
I live in Trinidad and Tobago so I never got to see him 😥but from 15 yrs old, I danced at parties to his songs. When I visited my sister and her husband near the Rockies we always played John Denver's music when we drove through the Canadian Rockies. Ohhhhh...a wonderful talented deep man he was.
I love Johns music, he by far was one of the best singer and song writer to bless this land, and will never be forgotten Its such a beautiful home, with some of the most majestic scenery.
It's a long way from LA to Denver🎶 It's a long time to hang in the sky 🎶 it's a long way home to Starwood in Aspen🎶 my sweet Rocky Mountain Paradise 🎶 my sweet Rocky Mountain Paradise🐎🤠⛷🎿🎣🎸🎤
Joan Pashinsky- You are sooo lucky you got to see John Denver in concert! I’ve never been to any of his concerts, but I loved him, his song writing and his music all the same! Rest easy, ❤️John Denver❤️
Growing up in Colo back in the 70s and 80s was awesome. And John Denver was a big part of that. You could tell in the lyrics of his songs that Colo inspired those words.
I had the good fortune to meet John Denver in New Orleans prior to the Super Bowl between his Broncos and my Cowboys. He was very down-to-earth and in good spirits. He is one of my Top 3 singers of all-time!! My fave song of his is Annie’s Song.
I thank my mom whole heartedly for inadvertently introducing me to Mr. Denver's music in the mid-70's. May they both rest in peace and continue to make music in Heaven!
My wife and I visited Aspen in '72, early in our marriage. We marveled at the realestate prices at that time. LOL, I can only imagine what they are like today! Beautiful part of the world for sure.
I saw John Denver in person by accident in Frankfurt Germany . Backstage. few second. He was playing ping pong. Ioved his music. While I was living in Munich. This old guitar, My old lady, country road, God Bless his family.
How do I miss someone that I never knew before? Rocky Mountain High echos in my mind in the silence of my thoughts With the strum of his guitar, gentle voice and warm friendly smile, A man who sweetly sang his melodies to the world. This is how I miss someone I never knew.
I said hello to him when I was in my early teens while riding my bike with my Freand . He was at his parents house I think by Aurora Hills golf corse in Colorado !! He was a awesome singer songwriter !! We all miss Him !!
oh, john, no one is still born like you. thank you so much for showing your love to God's beautiful creation. hope we can do it even in just small ways.
I had the golden opportunity to see him live in concert, and at my mom's memorial his music was played in the background. Rest In Peace, John and mom. You're both gone, but not forgotten.
just stumbled onto this and thought it was interesting. Not because i'm a celebrity worshipper. Quite the oposite in fact. But Musicians bring something quite different to the table or least they USED to. They provide the soundtrack to our lives and when I think about how screwed up the world IS at this point it struck me that one of the reasons it IS so bad is that the good people keep leaving and garbage keeps living. Sometimes, just knowing that creative or good people with big hearts, animal rescuers, those who sit with the elderly etc. are IN the world makes being in it a bit more bearable.
I don't think it's possible to have a more beautiful home or a more spectacular piece of real estate on earth. This would literally be my dream house. I love the mountains, I love those "cabin, " wood-style houses, it's just breathtaking. I'm a huge fan of John's, so I'm happy he got to enjoy this.
Soulaesthete :: I agree. I fell in love with the Rockies on my first visit there way back in 1989. I've been trying to relocate there ever since. But life just won't cooperate. So I still dream.
What do you mean, “life won’t cooperate”...make it happen! Educate yourself, get a really good job and make enough money to achieve that dream. You self defeat, when you give up so easy, like you just did there.
ItsYaGirlJeralyn Yes, as a matter of fact I am rich... very rich. Most with a negative attitude call it “filthy rich” Those and they are precisely the type that find it easier to show jealousy and block their own ability to achieve success on all levels. I was like them (and perhaps you??) until I kicked my own butt and stop feeling sorry for myself. I stopped putting down the successes of others and took responsibility for my own destiny. I now have everything I dream of, and enjoy it all with excellent health. The first day I was debt free and started paying myself with the money coming in, was the day I realized freedom. I wake up with a smile on my face and so does my wife. (Yes, my much younger wife... who did sign the prenup, if you must know). Love you and peace and love to all👍👍👍👍👍😘
@@mrgoggles1963 you sound very naive and obviously have an easy life w no challenges. That kinda life can be boring and unfulilling. Paid for by someone other than yourself
Sad to see everything sold...all his dreams just vanishing ....like he was never here....makes me cry, to feel the emptiness of what was so special.....now just a memory...I'm glad we will always have his beautiful music to recall what an amazing human being John was....R.I.P.😔❤
I saw him six times in concert. My ex-wife saw him 10 times. I got to shake his hand when he played at the McColum Theater in Palm Desert, Ca. After the show, then he drove off in a white Lexus... LoL
Wow!! Despite the events that drove us away from John Denver, I am pleased to know your "nest" of peace through you. I'm almost crying! Gratitude, from Brazil!
Attended his concert at Capital Center when I lived in Alexandria, Virginia. I've never been to another concert as good. John gave the band a break but he played for at least 2.5 hours without a break! ...Wish his estate could be put into a trust, or something, to preserve the beauty and his memory.
Last I read, the 3rd owner went and remodeled John and Annie's Starwood estate after he bought it, my initial reaction was, NO-!!! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT-!!! Leave it the way John designed it-!!! I guess nobody will ever listened to me. :-(
Ya, why would anybody change anything??? I would of felt so blessed to just live there in his presence just as it was...to feel the warmth of his spirit...knowing he loved every piece of his home....🥺🤧
I miss that beautiful bit of paradise. I was fortunate enough to be a tiny part of its history back in the early 70s. I miss standing on that deck and stargazing while everyone enjoyed a song. It is the same, yet changed.
This truly is...one of the most beautiful homes on earth, I used to visit John there.... Unfortunately, all of the Furnishings you now see in this video, are not any longer his original Furniture but are the furniture pieces from the first people that bought it from John's estate sale in the late 90s, the Dragon Z Kai animation company founders. Still, the original bones of the house, except for a few modifications, are the same, but I personally hate any changes they made. Miss you so dearly, John...
So very sad 😢I too, would often visit. As a professional musician, I recorded in his studio, there on the property. Drums and backing vocals on three of his top hits. Bed tracks on four others. Inspiring to be there and step outside to hear nothing but the howling wind as it rushed by. The view was amazing and the overall experience was something to be had. I mean, in a studio with JD and in such a beautiful part of the country. I’ve since moved on and have fond memories that I will cherish for life!
Thank you for letting me have a chance and seeing John Denver's house I really appreciate it we miss him dearly and his great music he sang and how is his adopted kids doing we know about it but the really there his children and yours too I must leave now because I got a lot of things to do in John Denver's name amen TCB third son of Elvis Presley hot damn that's a neat place man
I worked for awhile as a sales rep. going to different stores. One day I’m in a Nob Hill grocery store in Monterey Ca. The store is a stones throw from Monterey Bay where he crashed into the Bay in his plane. The store was playing “Country Road Take Me Home” It was definitely strange listening to it knowing he died out there in the Bay.
I was at a restaurant with a friend very near where he had his accident. We heard the news awhile later as we were driving home. Shocking, especially since we were so close.

The home should have been bought by a trust and kept in same condition like Graceland.
He specifically said he did not want that
One of the biggest issues is that John did not have a will!!!!
Such a beautiful home. Missing you John!
They say he took a chainsaw to all the furniture when the Australian divorced him
YES.
John Denver and his music lives on.
He is my favourite singer.
Till today I still remember him.
I love all his songs
What a admirable place.. brings me peace watch this place...
I will never be over John Denver’s death but lucky for me I got to see him up close for his last concert in New York. He is so missed
Me 2 it was a killer....the only one the Hollywood I liked.

John denver told me how great starwood is and tried to get me to buy a lot there in 1970..i was a dj
That's awesome Raphael Koster. He was a lovely man
Thank you this lends a unique perspective to one of my favorite John Denver songs, Starwood in Aspen

John Drnver is so creative in his masterpiece of music as well his house ..
He had one of the best Christmas TV Specials ever. They don’t have programming like that anymore
He had great taste in both music and architecture.
He studied Architecture at College. Had a year to finish, I believe, when he quit to "see what I can do with my music". Right choice!

That's so true, like for me writing music for me got me better from being at a relaxed spot with know one around just like John Denver did.
no small wonder that he did not like to leave his wife and home....but his love of singing for people was just a liiiiiittle bit stronger.
This woman seems dense, people have had outdoor fire areas for thousands of years.
