    I appreciate the spotlight on Lissa. I feel like she gets overlooked a lot. This was a really cool video and makes me want to go back and play some of the FE games I've never played.

    Really strong picks. I also really respect that you didn’t go for the low hanging fruit with characters like Edelguard. If this ever gets a sequel, I would put Eyvel on the list from Thracia or Ceada from Shadow Dragon.

    For all the appreciation I have for these characters, the thing that makes me adore them so much (particularly Elincia and Nino since they’re my favorites) is their moments of vulnerability. They can feel emotional, but it never gets in the way of doing what they have to do. In that way, I think that’s the greatest strength they have.

    I'm hoping that you'll include Caeda in the next installment of this (at least hopefully?) series.
    Caeda is my favorite female character in the entire series. I know she's basically the weaker version of Minerva, but I believe she is the reason Marth is a hero. Her constant support, her willingness to fight, her love for her people, and her overall kind personality is endearing. Plus, at the end, she becomes the literal queen of the world.
    I also learned a lot about Minerva from this video, she's really special. I feel like Archanea was the stepping stone for the strong yet likeable women in the series.

      @@geminithespy9882 It's been a while since I've played Shadow Dragon, but recruiting Roger was such a memorable scene, mainly due to Caeda herself. She managed to sway him using her girliness and knowledge of love in such a way that it wasn't cringey, which is really impressive if you think about it.

    I really like these kinds of videos! I love FE videos that talk about characters' journeys and just help to put into perspective how much they go through and how they overcome it. Hope to see more!
    Marianne is my favorite Three Houses character, her being able to fight one of the toughest battles, herself, while also fighting for the war. I personally find her a really strong woman not because she's badass, but because she's courageous even when everything in her body just tells her to run away and make her think she's not worth anything. She starts off weak, without an objective to her life, and surrounded by nothing but animals, but at the end she stands proud and strong, knowing that what she wants is to keep others safe and happy, surrounded by wonderful friends who helped her become stronger, bit by bit. I could go on and on about her but it'd be too long.
    Also from Three Houses I wanted to point out my second favorite, Dorothea. She starts off as this confident woman, beautiful and flirty, who even then still seems to hide a part of herself to everyone else and with a deep disdain towards certain kinds of people. What I find so strong of her is not that, but it's her ability to express her grief and pain and even still continue trying to make a difference for a better world for people like her. She suffered so much, an orphan on the streets, to a diva who constantly had men harass her, to a woman in the army, she has many stories to tell, and yet despite all of the suffering, she *adapts*, she will become ruthless if she has to, she will still show her disdain towards the actions those of higher power take without considering the pain of those below, and she will still continue fighting for a life in which she can find that one person that will continue loving her, no matter what, because she will love them back. To me, that's what makes her strong: her willingness to do everything for her happiness, her survival, and the future of those she cares about.
    Other characters I would've loved to talk about are Guinivere, Hortensia, Veyle and Sonya but the list is already getting really long. There's even some romhack FE female characters that I could gush about for hours about how amazingly written they are, but I'd take forever 💀

    this video makes me want to replay all of the Fire Emblem games I have held as my favorites, so that I can ACTUALLY understand them this time xD so much insight to these characters that I never thought about! im usually so enveloped by just how much each game explores, and I played them before I made any real attempt to think critically about games. so lots went over my head, but I still have some favorite characters.
    She is a lord, and one of the most popular at that, but I would still love for you to keep making videos talking about Fire Emblem (or whatever you want!) and get to talk about Lucina! She deserves happiness, and she deserves credit from people who have criticized her. It feels strange to hear that people called her a "mary sue" in the past... when I felt that I had never better related to a video game character when I first played Awakening.
    idk what else to say other than a great video, it gets my gears going and it gets my passion for Fire Emblem and talking about Fire Emblem going and I would like to see more 👍

    What I love about Fire Emblem is that the notable female characters are almost always a slam dunk when it come to their writing. Going through some of the characters who appeared in this video, L'Arachel is very charismatic, and was one of the funniest characters in FE8. Radiant Dawn is far from perfect in my opinion, but the way it fleshed out Elincia was stellar, even after she already developed nicely in FE9.
    Minerva is a girlboss done right since she feels so human, even feminine, down to questioning her own morals, which makes her so compelling in just Fire Emblem 1/11 alone. Seeing her in this video made me cry tears of joy, considering Shouzou Kaga has a reputation for being misogynistic, and yet many of his female characters are very well written. Just look at Briggid/Eyvel in the Jugdral duology as another example, and Faye from Berwick Saga. Looking forward to the next entry in this series!

    Hey Gemini, I loved the video. Perfect presentation I think. My only gripe is having Nino as a pick. Here is my reason why, she leveled with Zephiel, yes. She was able to overcome her fear of death and even though her struggle was very personal, it ultimately lead to the worst ending.
    The case of FE6 existing. With this in mind, she didn't understand the weight of her decision to let the prince live.
    Thus leading to a far worse conflict, one where it seems she doesn't live to see happen as Raigh and Lugh are orphaned at a young age. Even though the Black Fang was assigned to the task of assassinating Prince Zephiel, the job was still their's even if Zephiel at the time wasn't an evildoer. I won't take away from Nino's own self sacrifice, but it doesn't come from a sense of duty towards a greater good in this case.
    If I may, I think a better candidate for an Elibean strong woman would be Princess Guinivere and to a lesser extent, Queen Helena. Both share a similar result but I will elaborate on Guinivere further;
    Guinivere was essentially committing treason by allying herself with Bern's enemies. She, by technicality, let herself be captured to be sold off to the Lycians. Sending Elen to get help from Lycia.
    By most definitions, this one interaction is a super bold and reckless thing to do. She put herself in this situation to try and barter with the enemy, as Bern is literally marching on their territory, in the process of capturing Lycia. She did it as she thought she could steer the war in favour of the opposition and it worked out.
    I know you pointed out "evading capture" as a good trait. But in the case of Guinivere, even though she was captured, she used that to her advantage;
    Roy was never meant to take that castle in Bern, his goal was to get the mercenaries Eliwood hired. But since Elen needed help to get the princess out of detention, it was a super risky move.
    Either way, she was staking her entire plan on the enemy, even if it meant killing her own countrymen, to liberate her homeland that was under Zephiel's rule that had an iron fist over the entire continent.
    To me, that takes some guts.
    Hope my explanation wasn't too jarring to read. Just as a huge Elibe fan, I just think Nino doesn't have the same "strong woman" kind of thing. If anything, her surviving Sonia's abuse and accepting that everything she was told essentially was a lie. Overcoming that is much more significant to me.

    • @geminithespy9882
      @geminithespy9882  4 месяца назад +2

      Hi, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
      I appreciate your perspective on Nino, but I will push back because I think Nino was genuinely trying to do the greatest good--there was just no way she could have possibly foreseen the consequences of her actions. No one could. Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector had no idea either. While killing Zephiel as a child could have saved Elibe a lot of suffering, without being able to see the future, there was no way for anyone to assume that.
      Regarding your other suggestions, all I will say is that I plan to make several more episodes of the series, and I have a long list with many names on it. ^^ There can be more than one strong Elibian lady. :P
      But thank you so much for sharing your ideas! Getting multi-paragraph responses to my video tells me that I'm doing something right. ^^

    • @ludgerkres.1437
      @ludgerkres.1437 4 месяца назад

      @@geminithespy9882 No problem, my opinion is of a more working class kind of view. Thus leading me to my own conclusion. I can understand Nino's decision, even though she did the morally correct thing. She is still technically an assassin, however not following through prolonged her life.
      The other thing is that she is still a kid at the time of Zephiel's coming of age ceremony. While being written as as a kid, she has a more open view of the world at that time. I still stand by her courage, though I am unsure if it due to her juvenile character or if it is in fact being "strong". The thing that makes me believe it was her being naive was Ursula stating that Jaffar letting Nino live, then Sonia saying that Nino was trash. As she lived through a harsh reality check.
      I do think she grew a lot during those chapters. Killing the other Reed brother cut deep, and needing to move on from that I think is what makes her strong. Not her actions during Battle Before Dawn and Cog of Destiny. Anyway, hope this insight was worth reading. Thanks for your response.
