Had my Kadai for two seasons and already it’s got minute holes in the bowl even though it’s been covered when not in use. It’s been oiled at the end of each summer season. I suggest it’s not compatible with the English weather unless you can actually store it indoors. I would definitely recommend removing the beads and detritus from the bowl at the end of the season as it looks like their presence increases corrosion . Brilliant looking beast and excellent to cook on but expensive if you don’t mollycoddle it.

Just got one of the small 60cm fire bowls while its new is it worth spray painting it with car manifold paint to stop it rusting or does it just burn off

Hi, the fire bowls will take on a natural rust, this is completely normal and is part of the character of the bowl. We don't recommend painting it with anything, instead, you can clean it with warm water and an abrasive pad. Then apply a thin layer of oil all over the bowl to help maintain its condition.

One quick question: you pronounce Kadai in two ways, which is correct? Thanks!
