NOT a RVer, but it's sad Org attempt to shutdown the market that helps others who are less fortunate or choose NOT to spend $$ for overnight, seems like someone could build overnight places close to these winers and UNDERCUT them LOL

Stayed at Cabella’s in Lexington, KY on our trip to the Blue Ridge recently. Only our 3rd night on the road. Our first night was “boondocking” at the Auburn, Cord, Dusenburg Museum in Auburn, IN. Not quite boondocking since they provide 30 amp power in their RV sites.

Maybe campgrounds could add an overnight boon docking area for a reduced fee. Some people like the safety and amenities of a campground. With a travel trailer we have to stay in a campground when traveling from point A to point B.

Same thing here in Australia... RV park associations continually lobby local authorities to ban overnight or free camping in their areas. Fortunately our RV club has been working overtime with local authorities themselves and have managed to get many small country towns to allocate areas for limited time free overnight parking. We are finding that the business owners and storekeepers in these towns are very supportive as they find that the RVers spend plenty of money in their towns.

I did use my Passport America membership and it cut that price in Half. So it paid for itself one trip out. My bill was $32. For Full Hook ups. This is February 2019.
I stayed off AZ Hwy 17 at a sweet little RV Park with Very kind owners. That bill with full hooks for $39.

And oh yes, those Australian towns that support RVers can be awarded RV FriendlyTown Status (by our RV club) which allows them to advertise the fact and display appropriate signage at town entry points. Of course all club members have access to the list of RV Friendly towns so we know how to find them on our travels.
Other criteria required to get RV Friendly town status is availability of water, toilets, dump point, free parking close to shopping areas etc.

@@AvrahamSolomon Agree, but I have a strong feeling that nomads, by their very nature, are (unfortunately) not the type of people to band together. On top of that, we are small in number and therefore even *more* lacking in political power. Thus we will forever be at the mercy of commercial interests who want to take unfair advantage of us by using the political process to force us to spend money at commercial campgrounds.

@@Milesco Well, it one person and then others might join. Some work harder and some just go along for the ride, how nothing is too hard are impossible.

@@BelindaTOV Well get as many who feel the same and start a group then vote for leadership and then have votes on topics you feel are important, you should charge a small fee lets say $1.00 per month so everyone can afford it. We have many other problems they might be coming our way to we should find our voice soon.

Why do you need full hook up to just over night. I will pay a city 10 or 15 dollars to stay over night with electric. You could spend 40 to 100 to stay in a hotel. I would rather pay than sleep with a bunch of homless people.
