Glad to have you back Matt....
Thank you Rick 👍
Mat from the future. All seeing!
Truly a God amongst men lol
LOL!
Did u try the Automatic launch? And can't wait to try.one and it will run on a fatshark pack? Cool good review 👌
So funny when u guys call it zed, hoe, haich, Dee ? Lolol Its pronounced zohd all one little word. Ive posted the definition in one of my first ZOHD wing vids. Lemme see. . TBH glad to know I'M not the only ONE WITH TO FLY LISTS BUILDING UP HAHAHA BUT EXITED ABOUT THIS ONE!. AND YES its sold allot at as an bnf. fpv ready with their koppilet pre-installed which as u know gives u basic rth and auto launch plis.osd.with the piggyback lil pnp cam which I actually love and will be perfect for showing it off and range tests.. new goggles fun but i sweat they seem to pull thoughts from my mental wishlist and produce them usually better than I can imagine ha dying to glide down the beach..THIS IS THE ONE!
Matt, I still use many techniques I have learned from you, the pins for CG is a great one! Thank you for another great video.
Glad you like them!
Hi Matt, just a quick tip on power for hand launch, here is what i have learned over the years , Full throttle, Half throttle, 3/4 throttle makes no sense at all .
Bear in mind not all batteries are the same, for instance you may of put a already used battery in, or the battery has a higher c rating.
So here is what i do hold the model vertically gentle throttle up until you feel the motor is able to hold the models weight then you are set for hand launch. and of coarse you can tell if the battery has enough guts for launch. Try it.
Thanks Stephen 👍
Good idea power to wt. In your hand.
My connection pins for the wing are slightly out of line and one broke off. Have you any thoughts about a more substantial method of reconnection maybe using conventional connectors and adding wiring tails.
Thoughts please as the connections seem rather delicate.
Regards
Hi Tony, the same thing happened to me. Did you figure out a solution?
Thanks in advance
Paul
Thanks for the info! I have a Drift and my landing aren't the best. So far it's doing great. Drift is an excellent Lunch Time rc ac. Simple and relaxing!
I absolutely love my drift.
It’s my first plane to fly non fpv and it was brilliant. I found moving the weight back and weighing the nose down to gain correct cg, gave very efficient results.
I flew 1000mah 2s for 28 minutes, I landed on 7.1v.
Nice video again Matt :)
Nice work!
I just got a Drift today. I won't be flying it this year. but 6:15 what you're trying to do is called Crow. you should be able to do it in your radio. I haven't seen anyone talk about it for years David Vindenstall from early day's flite test explains it really well and I believe shows how to set it up.
Excellent video, Matt. I have the VC400 camera (bought the FPV kit) and I want to get rid of it. I'm definitely going with your suggestion of the Foxeer Razer Micro/Nano. Curious, what VTX do you have mounted on the forward canopy? Thanks, Matt.
another great model I want now, cheers Matt, good to see you back doing some reviews again, this one ia a DONT Rag The Nuts Off you are not getting soft in your old age are you :)
ha! Its a different type of ragging :) And of course, thank you :) Matt
I notice on mine the spars on the ailerons are much much longer
hello - can you use the night eagle system with dji o3 or would it get over 250g thx
This is awesome, do you have BMS in li ion pack? how many AMPs did it consume?
Can this fly on 4s1p 2000mah li-ion?
Will it fly on a single li ion cell ?
What's the laminate material ?
Thats a cool plane
what kind of foil did you use? is 75mic ok or too thick?
Where did you get the 18650 3500 mah?
Howdy Donald, covered in a couple of other videos on the channel. Matt
thanks anyway than
Another excellent and informative vid.👍
Can I use your iNav settings dump on a 411 WSE? Have always set my iNav models up with my own settings but I enjoy trying new things! thanks!
If you look for crazy efficiency, swap the prop for a real airplane one, like an APC style nylon prop. I don't know why they stick to quadcopter prop for airplanes.
To give you an idea, the zohd dart glides like shit, still I managed to keep it in the air for 108 minutes, thanks to a 3s liion pack and a well balanced apc prop. (Of course that fly was very chill)
great video, what vtx and antenna are you using? is it 5.8?
Definitely not 1.3 and a dipole ;)
Been refreshing your page till this came online hahahaha. Firssstttt!!! 😂
Hope this video helps you with yours TD :) Matt
Have you done any videos on laminating?? Something that I have not tried on my models...
Hey Chris, yes I did a mini series on that's just look up laminating, it's a red wing I show you with. Matt

Hi Matt, it looks like a Matek 1.2 VTX in the front - what is the antenna on it?
Howdy Kevin, I got that antenna free with an order from surveillezone. Someone called it a VRX. But that's all I know. Matt
Hey, great video. Quick question, do you fly at a flying club, a friendly farmer or somewhere you know? I'm a new flyer with a Nano Talon and am really struggling to find a flying spot, any tips?
Hey Matthew, clubs are a good place to start, but expect a LOT of rules. So either get on Google maps and check out some.places or get on FB and find people near you that fly. They're our there, honest! Matt
Sorry for missing it in case you mentioned it in the video but what FC board and GPS module did you use in the build? Thanks! Edit: took a quick look at your inav settings dump and they indicate that the FC was an omnibus F4 pro so if correct that answers my FC question. Still would like to know what GPS module was used.
Howdy PB, it was this bit.ly/2zzaZvy however do check eBay as well as the same thing might be cheaper there. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff Cool thanks, I've used those same ones before. It looks like you removed the plastic case and just used the device directly. Thanks again for answering my question.
Hi matt did you figure out why both ailerons were down? I have a talon rebel gt & out of the box it was the same. Adjusted linkages to but wondering if I should have done. Not flown it yet.
Howdy Chris! I have honestly no idea at all. So I simply left them as is and haven't change them other than to apply trim. They were only slightly down too. Hope that helps you Chris, Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff cheers buddy I'll leave em alone for now, awesome channel keep up the good work ole partner👍
Great review!👍
I am still waiting mine to deliver from BG, bought it during pre-order period, which is approximately USD10 cheaper.
Morning, mine was in the pre-order too. Turned out to be £68 delivered, I was happy with that. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff
Hi, I just received it today , happy happy.
I bought the kit version (at USD 49.9, free shipping cost), because I already have the FPV version of the Dart250 and extra Emax 5g & 9g servos.
Will built it for this coming weekend 😁
May i ask what vtx your using
Hey Sam, yes. Definitely not the Matek 1.2 unit. Matt
I thinking of Matek F4105 and a DJI air unit, what do you think ?
Howdy, if that's a smaller 20x20mm board it'll fit. As for the DJI kit, no idea as it's too expensive for me. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff i ordered it, gonna see how im gonna squeeze that in, might have to remove some foam.
You might need a hammer 😂
all im trying to find is how many amps people are pulling at launch and no one can show the dvr of the launch just inflight basically gliding, thats not helpful really sorry
So what FC did you actually get in there? I would love a little single board 20x20.
Howdy, the exact one I am using is no longer sold. However any 20x20mm FC that has at least 4PWM outputs, OSD and is F4 (or better) and is compatible with iNav is fair game. Hope that helps 3D, Matt
Ah. Right on, having a current sensor (yea i know they're really inaccurate, but you can dial them close with a real clamp) is important to me. Maybe a 32bit esc with current sensing. You can set rates for constant draw items like your vtx and receiver, and get pretty close apparently.
Thank you sir getting one w matek wsc
Good luck squeezing that in there! I looked at doing it with the 411WSE, however it would have just take far, far too much time to do so. Matt
Spoilers are better for landing Matt. Sideslipping will bleed of height quickly too.
Hey Andrew, It just needs that little extra to knock the height off it as unless you're forceful, it won't come down!
@@RagTheNutsOff Sideslip = aileron + opposite rudder. Great trick in fullsize.
Hey Andrew, this model doesn't have a rudder unfortunately. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff Oh my bad. Sorry Matt.
Hmmm...I will be up for a challenge then...I ordered a matek f411wse for this one...
Yep so did I!
Look at the Horizon , man ! .... The plane bounces around like Crazy ! ... That's No Good !
Robert, it was really strong winds and no customised pids set. I covered that in the video. Matt
Ha ha , if you like the razor you should try the toothless nano starlight... I have one quad with the razor and one with the toothless and I only fly the toothless because it is so much better.
Just make the propeller spin backwards for braking on landing
Howdy, not sure how you would do that with a non reversible ESC. Also, id be terrified of doing that to a model due to the uncertain effects. Matt
I guess discovering your channel on the inav wing talk might have been an expensive one cause your kind of videos kicks the "can't afford to miss" purchase reflex ...
cause I also appreciated the "bought on my money" review ... that let the purchase reflex kick in easier.
Hahahaahha the Drift, if you set your expectations for what it is and what it cane be used for correctly, it's perfect for what I want, sounds like you too :) Welcome aboard! Matt
👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍great review
Glad you liked it
No rudder 🙁
Yup, not needed though to be honest. Matt
Having a rudder.. would leads bad habits.. 😅its cool having without one just as zohd driff does..
😘👍
like a snap roll ? :P
Do you like hearing your own voice.
