should have bought them from an authorized dealer...they would have bent over backwards to make it right for you. These amps are also 8yrs old. I have 7 still and they all work.
I had the 1000 watt version of this amp. Looked just like this but smaller of course. To this day, still the best amp i've owned. And i've been doing this for 20 years. The power mine actually did was insane.
KEEP IN MIND - you will see the starting voltage above 15v...but that is because of the 10 amp XS power intellicharger. It is only contributing to charging the batts back up and TRYING to keep them fresh. But this amp draws over 400 amps so trust me the charger is NOT a factor. Just wanted to explain that.
Brilliant! I like what you do Steve. I see this as one of the best display of electrical and mechanical engineering. Back in the day I got to see the punch van and have been hooked every since. You have taken audio to the next level. Good work.
all having MORE voltage from your deck does is allow you to turn the gain down lower. If you have enough clean voltage coming from the deck, you might not need to turn the gain up much at all.
gargoyle serenade has a lot of bass in it but it still is no match for the Certified/Uncertified test. If you listen to the song, there is still a slight break in between the beats. I think it would still do its power on most music, as long as you keep your voltage up.
BTW love all the videos Steve, my wife even loves watching and says you are very entertaining! Thanks for all your hard work and helping treat audio addiction!!
In other words, the gain on both the amp and HU are set to the same level. IE if the HU outputs a maximum of 2volts without clipping, the amplifier is set to pick up that 2volts and amplify it without clipping. Likewise, a HU with an 8v out would be matched with a lower amplifier gain, so that both source and amp max out at the same time, without clipping. :) (hope this makes it more clear)
Thanks for taking the time to respond Steve. I dont know anybody with a Crescendo but your right if companies like Rockford or JL say a product they make will do something id be inclined to think they are being modest. I'm currently running a Powerbass asa1500.1Dx and its pushing my Orion well although its not enough I wish i had footage of my cousins H2 to show you hes running two 15 inch HCCA subs out a custom ported box with" Don Mega" written on it I think he needs to dig up this RF amp.
Wow man, that monster T4k is a BEAST!! Wassup w/ the new Pioneer head unit? Something happen to the Kenwood? Like somebody in the shop dropping the RCA's on the 16V battery bank? Powyow!
yup in the future i am for sure....he needs to buy all new batteries though and we need to get them in first. He is MIA again LOL - so who knows when i can do it.
I know ive said this before Steve great job! But, i cant help but think if you have your own line of Amps and YOU get to test em and what not right then be able to under rate them and charge what you want. Maybe like a line off RF to urs like AmpTek or something.... Just an idea... Im sure yourve throughin it around tho.
Steve, is it possible to run the test on this amp at 0.8 ohms? I was just curious because, with a few other test runs, you included the 0.8 results. It seems like the Rockford Fosgate amps are sturdy enough to withstand the drop. Thanks for another ATT video. Always enjoy them.
Great video, I know its old but good video. Keep them coming bro... I Just picked up a t2500.1 bd for 200.00 bucks, wow it kills my buddy's two 15" Orion Hcca's subs.
Good comment, and on a serious note, I have a Kenwood KAC-8105D on a Kicker 10"L5 and would love to one day see it tested as it's a pretty average amp. I've even thought of asking could I mail it in with return postage but know running a business costs money and doing stuff for free won't pay the electric bill!
Yeah u right bro, it does have a break n da basslines n I know 4 a fact dat Punch can handle mostly anything u put on us them. I have an old skool Punch 200 dsm (da all black 1) hooked up to a pair of Dual 12's n moves dem nicely. Thanx for replying back bro.
I own a RF T4000.1Bd and this thing is thirsty!! I had mine running off of a 220 amp alt and 2 group 31 Deka Intimidators and wired 1 ohm it would still dim the lights a little!!!
I'd really like to see the new Sony GS amps. Both the 4 channel and matching bass amp. I think it's the xm-gs400 and xm-gs100. I have both of these ready to go in my car and would be interested to see their actual power output
Steve, in your best knowledge, with what Rockford makes today, what would compare to the " Punch Power " of my old school Punch 150's ( Pre HD ) ? What would I have to buy today to obtain the same power ?
This may be a silly question, but is there any way you could hook up some jumper cables from your tahoe to help charge the batteries with bigger amps like this? Not sure if there would be any issues with doing that....
I really want to know what the song Flarve - Bounce sounds like on your system, the drop goes down to 20hz. Can you please make a video of your system with this song. I would appreciate it a lot. Keep up the good work (Y)
I was wondering if you can just run some 2/0 from one of the alternator's in your Tahoe to your test bench to keep the batteries charged and simulate the amp being in a vehicle, I think that would help test the larger amps
The new Soundstream rubicon amps are a good bang for the buck, the 1600.1 could be had for under 200 bux, really wouldnt mind you testing that out, its gotta do atleast rated.
Still have 7. Bstrd :P send one to norway please ;-) hehe, love the amp test tuesday vids Steve. Allways a good start on wednesday with my morning coffee. :)
Seeing as this is an amp video, either you Steve or anyone that knows more about the Kac 5001s from kenwood. Would it be a good match for two old school type r 10s rated 300rms? Maybe you should bench a new kenwood Steve?
True man. But Steve seems like a cool guy and i'm sure if you went through the trouble of sending it to him and asking him to test it instead of demanding like so many of these kids, he would get it done. Plus, I would be happy as hell to see my own personal amp being dyno'd by Steve.
sure they did...and then they DIDN'T fix or replace your amps? If they didn't, that means you didn't buy them from an Authorized dealer. Like i said, they would bend over backwards to make it right. Best CS in the business. I don't doubt you had some issues but next time buy from a reputable source and you should have no problems - nothing that can't be taken care of quick (by RF).
I have a question and any suggestions are appreciated. Subs won't play bass without using epicenter. The only way that they will play bass is by turning the epicenter up which I know you are not supposed to use with rap music. I tried connecting the RCAs directly to the amp but no luck. I also tried messing with the frequencies on the amp but nothing. What is causing this problem?
Hey Steve! Remember that amazingly small Soundigital 250.2 wich would put out 300 watts and have the size of a wallet you tried out a long time ago? Would love to see that one in amp test tuesday! :)
270 amps X 14.4 volts (ideal running voltage) equals about 3800 watts Now take into wire losses at that power as well as voltage droop you could probably say about 3000 watts safely as steve says in the vid batteries are gonna make or break your voltage stability
hey thanks for the heads up ;-) i would like to see the audison lrx in action a lot of people are cheresing it soo it would be fun to see what it can do :-D
i understand that, but having a hu with 2,4,8 etc... or a line driver with even more pre out voltage have a positive or negative effect on the wattage outcome, basicaly if the amp had more or less pre out voltage going to it, would it increase or decrease the amount of watts it produces, or is it not a factor when it comes to a test like this
this amp has been discontinued for 5 or 6 years so..... kinda irrelavent. The T4k has more features, i would take this discontinued amp over that thing any day. It's not always about actual power output, there are other things inside these amps that cost money - and the engineering it took to make it do what it does isn't cheap. Besides, i haven't tested that amp yet, who knows if it can even do what it claims.
Hey Steve I know you made this in 2013 but I also know you have upgraded your battery bank since then. Could you try to run the tests again since you have a much better ability to keep the voltage up? I would like to see the real numbers on this thing. This are some of my most favorite amps of all time.
I have a jl 500/1 all black wondering if you could do a amp test on one of those so i can see what its capable of since its hooked up to 2 merlon mewo 15s
Could you do a test of the RF T1000-4AD? The 2011-12 model. Its the new AD technology, and it should produce something like this: 4 ohms: 250 watts x 4 chan. 2 ohms: 250 watts x 4 chan. 1 ohm: 250 watts x 4 chan. Bridged, 4 ohms: 500 watts x 2 chan. Bridged, 2 ohms: 500 watts x 2 chan.
should have bought them from an authorized dealer...they would have bent over backwards to make it right for you. These amps are also 8yrs old. I have 7 still and they all work.
Hard to believe that amp is already 10 years old. Still looks brand new to this day for it's age. Great video!
I had the 1000 watt version of this amp. Looked just like this but smaller of course. To this day, still the best amp i've owned. And i've been doing this for 20 years. The power mine actually did was insane.

I love the bds with a passion but with that footprint ill stay with my underated t2500 for sure
Brilliant! I like what you do Steve. I see this as one of the best display of electrical and mechanical engineering. Back in the day I got to see the punch van and have been hooked every since. You have taken audio to the next level. Good work.
for those that didn't read the description - this thing has a 500 amp fuse on board.
all having MORE voltage from your deck does is allow you to turn the gain down lower. If you have enough clean voltage coming from the deck, you might not need to turn the gain up much at all.
Amp?! I thought that was a new table saw. Nice.
Thanks for the upload. I love AMP Test Tuesday's.
:)

i watched all the amp test tuesday vids and i want more!! Thanks Steve you are the man
Love the old school powerhouse. I've always wanted on of these just to have. Great amps
I would love to see more DC amps tested. They will usually do their wattage and in most cases more
BTW love all the videos Steve, my wife even loves watching and says you are very entertaining! Thanks for all your hard work and helping treat audio addiction!!

(hope this makes it more clear)
Background music sounds like old porn.
seriously! steve, what you got goin on back there man? hahahaa.
Vintage ftw. loooool
i will open it up and post pics in the Amp Guts section of my forum! good idea! :)
I love watching these. Great video as always sir! LIKED!

Just the fact that you dusted it off before you showed it, proves the kind of detail is given.

This amp would beat out a lot of amp on the market right now...How would this amp do against the 2500.1bd
Great vid just wondering if u ever tested any of the Rockford fosgate 800.2 the old school gray one
yes
Hey Steve, have you ever tried any vibe audio equipment, they're big in the UK and I just wondered how they stand up to the big boys
Can you dyno test a RF P400.1 please a think is underrated
That amp is a BEAST.

Steve , you may have addressed this in an earlier video and I just missed it . But can the amp dyno test amps while they are strapped .
I'd really like to see the new Sony GS amps. Both the 4 channel and matching bass amp. I think it's the xm-gs400 and xm-gs100. I have both of these ready to go in my car and would be interested to see their actual power output
Amp Test Tuesday keep them coming
Love the tests. Could you test the Hifonics BRX1600.1 or the BRX2000.1?
considering it can draw 400 amps, that does not surprise me. A 220 a alt is not big enough.
already did a T1000.1 bro
Steve, in your best knowledge, with what Rockford makes today, what would compare to the " Punch Power " of my old school Punch 150's ( Pre HD ) ? What would I have to buy today to obtain the same power ?
I would love to get a hold of one of these 😋
i have 2 of them available
@@guayacoxvida2866 sup I’m interested
Hey Steve, I think it would be cool to see your tahoe equipment on the dyno.
Test a Rockford T300-2. I have 2 and Have ran one on a 1000rms 15" L7 at 1 ohm and it was pushing it hard!
This may be a silly question, but is there any way you could hook up some jumper cables from your tahoe to help charge the batteries with bigger amps like this? Not sure if there would be any issues with doing that....
Hey Steve! Was wondering what one of the bigger Power Acoustic amps would do? Most people down these amps because they have fuses on them.
Steve, test the Rockford Prime 600.5. I really want to know this entry levels true specs in 5 channel mode.
That is one killer amp! I really want to see you do an Audiobahn A2300-hcj at 16-18 volts...
Yee! Amp test Tuesday!!!
That's a monster!!
I run 2 l7's and a 20001bd, I am amazed by the power! My birtsheet shows 2400 Watts @ 1 ohm. What was the 4000 rated at?
I really want to know what the song Flarve - Bounce sounds like on your system, the drop goes down to 20hz. Can you please make a video of your system with this song. I would appreciate it a lot.
Keep up the good work (Y)
could you test one of the Kicker amps that Walmart is now selling. would like to see how there claim of "will test higher than rated" holds true.
I love these tests! Keem em commin man
having dd amps mounted exactly the same way, never blew. i tried to contact rf, they sayd it was a common design fail on the mosfets
Seeing as this is an amp video, either you Steve or anyone that knows more about the Kac 5001s from kenwood. Would it be a good match for two old school type r 10s rated 300rms? Maybe you should bench a new kenwood Steve?
That amp is a MONSTER. What's the retail on that beast?
I'd love to see something from Alpine on that bench! PDX 1.1000? Please. It's such a curious little amp.. Thanks for the vids. :)
Another sweet test bro thanks a milli !!!
Hifonics!!!!! Please!!!!!! I've always loved their amps but I want to know what it really does.
True man. But Steve seems like a cool guy and i'm sure if you went through the trouble of sending it to him and asking him to test it instead of demanding like so many of these kids, he would get it done. Plus, I would be happy as hell to see my own personal amp being dyno'd by Steve.

when will you have the pictures up on your forum
That was cool... would have liked to see tested rating at 4, & 2 ohms but none than less... Demonstration was cool...
Got my thumbs up...
Steve why did you ever check those t4000.1 amps in for the power 2500's...
Great numbers and results. Looking sharp bro,I got a few questions I'll inbox you.
MR. Meade off topic question for you, would 1800 rms be ok for the Orion HCCA 15?? Your advice is appreciated.
Hey Steve! Remember that amazingly small Soundigital 250.2 wich would put out 300 watts and have the size of a wallet you tried out a long time ago? Would love to see that one in amp test tuesday! :)
i got an amp i wanna see u put up on there do the rf t15k the big ones u have in the escalade that will be pretty kool to see
Wow I have a Rockford T30001bd I wonder what numbers mine will do?
mr83ttop I have the 1000.1 and want to know the same...ill send mine if he will test it.
My bd20001 does 2400, I bet your 3000 does 3500
if you've ever heard of fusion car audio you should test the ca-da41400 seems like a very good amp from a little known brand
270 amps X 14.4 volts (ideal running voltage) equals about 3800 watts
Now take into wire losses at that power as well as voltage droop you could probably say about 3000 watts safely as steve says in the vid batteries are gonna make or break your voltage stability
Steve can you do the RF t1000bdcp. I have two of these in my truck, each one running to a AA Havoc 15".
Nice to see top quality stuff keeping their name but i heard that 1ohm decreases an amp's life........can rf amps 2500watts+ run cool at 1 ohm?
I have a crescendo 3kWp and its a pure beast, I can only imagine a BC5500
hey thanks for the heads up ;-)
i would like to see the audison lrx in action a lot of people are cheresing it soo it would be fun to see what it can do :-D
can you test the ppi p1000.1 im really curios if it really makes that much power thanks and you my friend is the best
i asked to see a t-1000 get put to the test,,,,and you do a t-4000,,,,thanks steve,,,no wounder why i have to keep turning mine down
Do you ever test Performance Teknique amps?????
Steve have you ever tried a audiopipe 3000.1d. And a 1800.1d amp try one!
i understand that, but having a hu with 2,4,8 etc... or a line driver with even more pre out voltage have a positive or negative effect on the wattage outcome, basicaly if the amp had more or less pre out voltage going to it, would it increase or decrease the amount of watts it produces, or is it not a factor when it comes to a test like this
hey can you test some of the BDCP series I have the T-1500-1BDCP and want to see how much power its putting out. thanks
this amp has been discontinued for 5 or 6 years so..... kinda irrelavent. The T4k has more features, i would take this discontinued amp over that thing any day. It's not always about actual power output, there are other things inside these amps that cost money - and the engineering it took to make it do what it does isn't cheap. Besides, i haven't tested that amp yet, who knows if it can even do what it claims.
just out of curiosity, whats the pre out voltage of the hu? and is it a factor when doing a test like this?
meaede next tuesday try to find the hifonics 2500 am sure that hifonics also does not make label claims.
Rockford Fosgate for the win
Isn't the Crescendo BC5500 rated at 1,100 more watts for half the price?
Are you and skar audio the only ones to have an smp dyno b
Hey Steve I know you made this in 2013 but I also know you have upgraded your battery bank since then. Could you try to run the tests again since you have a much better ability to keep the voltage up? I would like to see the real numbers on this thing. This are some of my most favorite amps of all time.
Hell he was still over 13v, not going to make much more of a difference going to 14v maybe 200 or 300 watts
I have a jl 500/1 all black wondering if you could do a amp test on one of those so i can see what its capable of since its hooked up to 2 merlon mewo 15s
Could you do a test of the RF T1000-4AD? The 2011-12 model.
Its the new AD technology, and it should produce something like this:
4 ohms: 250 watts x 4 chan.
2 ohms: 250 watts x 4 chan.
1 ohm: 250 watts x 4 chan.
Bridged, 4 ohms: 500 watts x 2 chan.
Bridged, 2 ohms: 500 watts x 2 chan.
Needs more supply, good write up as always my man!
Now that's a lot of clean power right there. :)
Have you ever tested a powerbass xta 5000 and if so what were the results?
hey steve i was wondering if you could test the sound digital sd250.1d on the next A.T.T.
