I appreciate all of the great camera angles that you used so we could really see all the intricate work that you did on this amazing piece. Stunning repair work - so intricate and well-thought out.
This was my first job after University in Viet Nam. Toluene is quite toxic and I had to use it to soften glue all day and inhale it. This video brings back a lot of memories 👍👍
In throw away world, thisnis refreshing to see. Most ppl these days do not have the skills or patientce to do anything like this so they say " easier to buy a new one". This guy does great work. May not be financially cheapet to rebuild but is alot better than new

@@erik120719 I fixed an old work clock I found in a bin once. Took me 2 hours haha. Rust on the "motor" contacts. All those quartz clocks use a resonant crystal stepped down through a digital counter to a "motor" that flips 180 degrees of rotation every second. This is then reduced through a 30:1 reduction to run the second hand, a further 60:1 to run the minute hand, and a further 12:1 to run the hour hand.
No worry about the interior mold who will be dislodged by the vitrations and mixed with the ambiant air by the speaker movement... Why not sand the interior or at least clean it while the side is opened!
Great job. However, it would be very useful for your viewers if you could let us know what you are doing (some narration or sub-titles), what chemicals you use, etc.,

The cost of such a restoration clearly exceeds the cost of a new subwoofer. It was easier and cheaper to buy a new one. Besides, even the best restoration will not return the factory characteristics. Therefore, if the device is so badly damaged, the right way out is to buy a new one.
Excelente trabalho. Adorei o barulho da chuva. Há restauradores e construtores que usam fundo musical em seus vídeos nos tirando o prazer da interação, do compartilhamento, da imersão quase total na atividade executada pelo profissional.
Great work. But as many restaurations, i ask to myself : why not buying a New one or a second hand ? Parts, products, time cost much money. Pleasure to do, of course.
Sometimes with vintage gear like this, new ones are just not available, and used ones can be prohibitively expensive because of their unique sound. In that case, the restoration absolutely makes financial sense. I myself once had a bass amp speaker reconed so as not to lose the unique sound of the amp.
Was erwartest du? Er baut die chancis ( lautsprecher) völlig falsch zusammen. Die können nicht gut gelingen. Mir würde so was nicht ins Wohnzimmer kommen. Nicht mal in den Party Keller

Excellent work! I love seeing your videos of saving electronics, so satisfying! I just blew my JBL W12GTi- MkII 12" woofer yesterday and was thinking of sending it to you for a new voice coil if possible. I loved that sub.

It works great though. Almost any kind of adhesive is no match.
Toluene? And you went to university? You know that’s not just runny nose toxic but highly cancerous, right?

Great job, the only thing that worries me is that mould all over the box that stayed.
It lets the sub play down to 15Hz.

Ok - no speaking - what do you speculate is the solvent he is using to loosen the glue? Isopropyl alcohol? Acentone?

What liquid are you using to remove the adhesive from the driver?
Мне тоже интерестно! Вы узнали или еще нет ?
100% Acetone works best for Disolving adhesive.

Pure acetone (Acetona pura)
Never seen speakers repaired and refurbished before, pretty cool. Subbed.

It's probably cheaper for him to repair it, hence he is doing it. Or maybe he owns the repair and restoration shop.
I wouldn't dismiss the fact that this got 1.8m views..
