It's sad to see these mindless comments from people who seem to have not even watched a minute of the video, just repeating what most said a year ago without giving any real arguments, and just throwing insults at you just for liking the game. Good video man, don't let mean comments from others discourage you.
Interesting. I think youre right about the selective bias. Many who were connoisseurs of "good writing" didnt criticize arcane. Even the nost intensive criticisms missed the core of the plotholes as they worshipped at the altar of animation.
Or how about even just other Square Enix games? Final Fantasy is FULL of "cringe" stuff but I've never seen it mentioned as the main critique or even a critique at all in any of the games.
You'll be surprised how much dialogue and story have an impact on gameplay you could have the best gameplay on the planet but if the main character keeps making people cringe on or moan it's gonna turn off your audience if your story can't compensate for the dialogue it will bore the player which will make players pick apart the dialogue in the gameplay even more

Yeah, as far as games go, it looked fine. The writing was a little bit bad, but the game looked fun. People who are brainrotted just hyperfocus on some of the dialogue.
