Tyson shows that even the best at what they do can have the struggles and pressures many of us face. His conversation was so honest and raw and it was great to hear his story.
This is the first time I've come across your channel and I'm so glad I did, seeing this conversation with Tyson was amazing... I've been suffering for the last 25 years and am at my wits end with it all. Dealing with life with drugs/alcohol and mental health issues for as long as I can remember, and then in 2010 I went to prison until 2019, came out clean and fit, then a short while after I lost my mom first and then my nan during covid, since then I've just locked myself away from everyone just getting worse!! Seeing this has made me finally realise that I need to seek help before it's me in that car heading for that bridge, it's all I've literally been thinking about and planning lately. So I just want to say thanks to all of you because its time for a change...
What an honest and open interview, Mr Tyson Fury is a man of integrity and strength, who is willing to share with the world his experience of poor mental health, Thankyou to this channel for allowing Tyson to tell his story.
I'm not a boxer and I'm not a 7ft man. I'm actually a 5ft 2 woman. But, I can relate to everything Tyson has spoken about surrounding mental health. Ups and downs, Panic and anxiety from a very young child, psychosis -- seeing and hearing things that are not there, believing people were trying to poison me or harm me, being scared and petrified, and trying to kill myself. I was diagnosed with bipolar and a whole litany of other issues at 47. I cried when the psychiatrist told me I had bipolar, not because I was afraid or ashamed, but because like Tyson I finally had an answer for why life had been so difficult for so many years. Life is not perfect but since medication and lots of hard work realising what triggers episodes and what I can and shouldn't do, life is calmer and more peaceful. Medication is NOT a bad thing if you have balance in your life--taking medication has helped me know myself, be calm, have much less ups and downs. The BIGGER issue, though, here is access to mental health services in the NHS and how awful that process is -- I would like that to be a mission, to get better help for other people. Congrats, Tyson, you are the heavy weight champion of the world by coming to a place where you can function beyond mental health-- that is the biggest mountain to climb. 🧡
Hello Victoria. Thanks so much for sharing your life experience. My daughter suffers from alot of the symptoms you have listed above. You have given me pathway to getting the correct treatment for her. And you are spot on regarding the NHS and access to treatment. We have experienced the frustration ourselves. Im glad that your life has got better with the meds. Love and peace to you from London.
True champion in every aspect! If your going through mental health or on the road to recovery you will be able to relate. Tyson Fury is a superhuman, grateful to have someone like Tyson to advocate mental health. Great podcast guys, thank you.
I’ve never been a big fan of yours Jake Misty due to how you have come across in Sports Media but after watching this interview I can see there is so much more to you as a presenter and human being. This was probably the finest interview I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch. Tyson is a highly intelligent and amazing human being. Subbed and liked 👍🏼
you described exactly almost word for word how my first panic attack/anxiety attack went down ...extremely f**ckn scary ... I believe every word he's saying and I probably wouldn't have prior to learning about mental health... good on you Tyson your fighting a good fight my friend
I had a panic in my mid 20's. I was rushed to hospital with my heart rocking and was pretty sure I was having a heart attack and about to die. Scary as hell. Felt like my heart was rocking for weeks after it, was in a state of panic. Knowing what it feels like to think you are facing death gives you a different perspective on life. Hope you are well.
This has helped me massively I have sufferd anxiety all my life and still do i can relate to alot of what Tyson has said watching this has helped massively thank you
Great interview! Tyson is a true inspiration. He's helped ppl all over the globe, who struggle with mental illness. Hearing Tyson describe what he experiences right after a fight though is heartbreaking - I wish him all the best. Tyson, you owe us fans nothing. ✌❤🙏
Amazing interview, and Fury's life experiences are a mirror of many people from a tough background. I can see so many parallels with my own life, and had to do exactly the same thing as Fury, so listening to him talk was fascinating. Blokes don't like to talk about their mental health, nor do they like to admit they have struggles in life, it's the bloke way to just put on a brave face and try to portray their lives as nothing wrong everything's great. Thank you for this amazing interview, and thank you to Fury for being so honest and really going in deep with the way he has had to find a way to cope with the double life, the stresses, and the mental health struggles that many blokes have to deal with.
Best Tyson fury interview I’ve ever seen and as someone who has mental health challenges has been so reassuring and informative to listen to. His transparency is a serious attribute.
I've ended up in hospital myself from panic attacks, which was awful each time. It's impossible to tell yourself you are being irrational. I had such attacks from a very young age. I think trauma was to blame, but later in life, when I found my biological parents (I'm adopted), I discovered anxiety and panic ran in the family. Still today, I have the odd attack. Kudos Mr. Fury, that meeting it head on.
I didn't have a panic attack until I was 37... Genuinely thought I was having a heart attack and called an ambulance. Then you feel so stupid afterwards... They are horrible. Hope you're coping ok 👍
I also once called an ambulance during a very bad panic attack. I felt very stupid later, and like you, was made to feel stupid, although this was back in the early 90s. @@delanodegenie6970

Love him or hate him, I have a soft spot for this giant largely because of the courage it took for him to get out of dark places in his mind. I'm crying listening to his explanation of not being able to differentiate between the Gypsy King and Tyson 😭😭😭❤❤❤ so much respect for this champ!
When you know how hard only putting your shoes on and go out for a walk can be, it is almost impossible to understand what he have done. Tyson will maybe ever know how big inspiration he is for so many.
I needed this so much. Thank you guys and thank you to one of the Greatest Heavyweight of all Time. Thank you Tyson Fury for giving me the courage and strength to be better.
Respect for working out his psychological issues (his private and public personas), and being grounded straight after a big fight, emptying his house bins!
Damian was different class in this episode. He asked some really tough questions about some grey areas to someone who I imagine is extremely intimidating to interview and it was very interesting to hear Tyson’s reaction. Great pod 🙏
Tyson is an inspiration to our generation. I hope people realise the message he’s sending, no one is too big to ask for help. In saying that he’s also showing first hand everything we can achieve if we do ask for help.
He's an extraordinary character. An incredibly courageous and outstanding boxer. The greatest showman since Ali as The Gypsy King. And yet a highly intelligent and sensitive character as Tyson Fury. It's little wonder that this has led to mental health problems. If he hadn't been given such a massive frame and boxing gifts, I could easily imagine him channelling his intelligence and sensitivity in a creative pursuit.
I have no idea how I stumbled upon this. But I am so glad I did because I know I'm not alone, and seeing such an amazing man speak on this is absolutely relatable and special. So thank you.. Gives me hope I can do more. Thank you
Went through the exact same thing . I remember after a couple days my chest and lungs burning from my heart thumping and hyperventilating . I thought I was being poisoned. It was such a breath of fresh air to find out what was going on and I wasn't alone
A rollercoaster of emotions interview! Action packed and jam packed full of highs and lows, wonderfully brilliant! Thank you High Performance for a memorable watch. Tyson, you’ll always be a role model to many! Go One More👊
He is a liar he had a few nights on the sniff and had a panic attack with the cocaine blues.. all this is weak talk... Grow a pair and deal with life and stop playing the victim
This fella gives so much strength to people who are struggling, the baddest man on the planet has been there, its not something to be ashamed of its something to be defeated, and we can all do it
Amazing interview well done guys I wasn't a Tyson Fury fan because of some of the things he said but I thank him for being so honest in this interview he is an inspiration for people all over the world suffering from mental health issues.
That is 1 of the best interview's I've ever listened to so many people only have opinions on tyson fury the boxer but after watching that it is a real eye opener to the man away from boxing and the struggles and deamons he had to deal with and the way he dealt with them and the help he seeked a real great watch
Having anxiety, bipolar, and depression is not easy and it take a strong person to come out and especially for a man. I cried listening to this podcasts. I take my hat off to Tyson
Mental health issues are so scary. Tyson had beautiful kids, a wife, a great family around him all the money in the world and he wanted to die. I'm so glad he turned it around in doing so saved so many peoples lives as they have taken inspiration from him
An incredible conversation on so many different levels. I have listened to this 3 times now and have picked up new aspects I had not heard in the previous listen. I have suffered for so long, most of my life, with anxiety and worry and Tyson's story just resonates so much. It is just incredible and inspiring how he has managed to achieve the heights of success in life that he has, whilst suffering so much in his mind. Truly inspirational stuff
Top Class interview. My favorite Fury interview yet and he's done some bloody good ones previously. He's an inspiration..the interview had a natural flow. Three lads just having a proper honest chat
This is good timing for fury family PR. You have to admire tyson for what he's done but I can't help but think Paris plays a gigantic role in keeping him together.
Who ever suffers from mental health I’m with you. It’s a bad thing to have. Things get better. I think it never goes it’s just something you need to control.
You can see the emotions he is feeling from his face, body language and demina. He had to become the world's unbeatable physical champion before completing his true mission which is an unbeatable inspiring mental health champion ❤
Man I’ve had so many of these experiences myself. Panic attacks, anxiety, and depression can be just as crippling as any physical condition. I still remember the first panic attack. There was no trigger. I walked out of work like I did every day and boom. I some how drove home and had my wife take me the hospital. I was 1000% sure I was having a heart attack. They ran tests and said I was fine and gave me an anxiety pill. Within minutes I calmed down.
I love his honesty, the reality of what he'd become and what he had to do. I love his openess about his faith and the impact and healing this brought upon him. For those experiencing serious mental health concerns this brings hope and recognition that you can exit what you might be experiencing. Superb interview and thank you
He doesn't have obsessive compulsive disorder. People use that term way too often not realizing that people who actually have it have extreme difficulties in life and that it can be debilitating. Being hyper focused and driven to be great at something you love is not OCD
I'm so happy 😊 that you have got well and to a better place. God bless you 🙏. I also have suffered similar issues as tyson but my mental health issues were through sexual, physical abuse from a child and adult. I'm not a victim am a survivor. I still struggle but that's fine. I can cope much better. So whoever else is suffering reach out for help ASAP with professionals. God bless you all 🙏
Never thought much of Tyson Fury prior to Klitschko fight to be fair, in that 2013-16 period due to his persona. It wasn’t until his MH struggles came to fore and his comeback that I really appreciated what he was going through . Interviews like this one really open up on Tyson and make you realise what a true champion he is. You have helped so many people big man with your honesty and openness that this is your greatest win and achievement.
If you find this startling and hard to imagine watch a Andrew Huberman podcast. He is a Neuro scientist from Stamford University. Especially the episode on Dopamine. You may find a lot of answers and thanks to Tyson an escape from how you may feel. Thank you gentlemen for letting Tyson speak on this subject
Another fantastic episode, Tyson lays himself bare in this candid chat, Tyson seems to have a heart as big as himself, I genuinely wish Tyson a great life and hope he finally finds contentment…. Stay safe Champ 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇮🇪
I lost my baby daughter 5 years ago. Stillborn. It was the most devastating thing in my life. I have only just begun to live my life again , I totally get where the gypsy king is coming from here. Good luck in life Tyson keep going, keep winning.
Thank you for sharing your story. It meant so much to me. I had a severe stroke, and my wife left me after 37 years. My childhood was horrible. I suffered from depression my whole life . I understand what you're saying. I'm OK now because I learned to get well you must leave the past and live in the moment and for the future if you don't you'll never get well. Bottom line. I'm the moment with a pinch of the future, and you move on. This is why when you go to the bathroom, you flush the toilet.
Wonderful insight into the history of Tysons struggles. Totally gripping interview and was one of the best iv seen. Iv seen most Tyson fury interviews as he’s a real hero of mine
The hardest thing for me is the loneliness not only in the isolating that I do to myself but also life in general , everything I do on a daily basis is a challenge to me like it is to nobody else on the planet because they are my issues , yes other people have similar diagnosis and similar symptoms but you can't ever know what's happening in someone else's head . I first saw a psychiatrist when I was 11 and I have had a psychiatric doctor for many years but all they ever want to do is pump me full of drugs which never really help instead of some long term therapy and counselling to help me work through it and get some kind of understanding , all I get is a 10 minute consultation every three months that's 40 minutes a YEAR , my family don't understand and to be honest I frustrate them mainly due to them not understanding my condition which is frustrating for me and round and round it goes , i have to resort to ringing the suicide lines just for someone to talk to who doest have an opinion of me normally after I have self harmed . My cap is doffed to Tyson he has done amazing and I wish him all the best in his daily struggles and I'm glad he had people around him who were willing to listen and support him through the tough days because I'm sure it must be unbearable at times for our loved ones also . Edit: I just want to say I really enjoyed the honesty and glimpse into the real person behind the persona , it's made him real which brings to life the struggles he has gone through and makes them more relatable to others , cheers big fella 👍
Thank you for this. Difficult to listen to the turmoil at times, but only because it feels familiar to my own experiences. I've never really been a fan of the Gypsy King, but I am fast becoming a fan of Tyson Fury. Big love.
Gives me goosebumps him talking about him on his knees praying to god. Then getting up feeling lifted. I have felt this too. Fair play to Paris being his Rock. My Dad is my Rock then there and always. All of the loved ones I’ve lost. 5.8 man doing scaffolding but jesus can i relate to tyson so much. From an Irish my Dad moved over here we was born here. But we had noone nothing. Had to build our way up. Feeling worthless and useless. To the man i am now providing. Getting stronger by the day. Looking after my Family. And having some sort of a vision. Tyson if you see this comment. Please message me Sir. I would be honoured to meet you and go for a run with you. I have every book and if i had the money i would love to watch you live. I used to be inspired by Mcgregor but i realise. He lost the hunger and actually is effecting his mental health now. Tyson is a man that has lived it and is living throughout this it. ForEver the King. Is more then many aspects of life. Admirable to the max. A man that can conquer his demons. Control them from day to day. That is an honest and powerful man that we are lucky enough to have the privilege of him being able to talk about this. Jesus im nearly in tears just from thinking how much strength and courage he had. I felt that weight on my shoulders. Still do even more so now. Hoping for that day where is all clicks together snd everything runs smooths. Until then i will continue to better myself everyday. Thank you again 👑
Depression is one thing, dealing with the rush of being the big thing is far, far more. I had a brush with that stuff and it messed me right up for about 3 years when it ended - ended ip locked in a cabin seeing no-one for 2 years. In my experience, a large part of the problem is that your identity becomes framed by other people's view of you, so you become reliant on people affirming you and who you are, which is a one-way trip to hell. I came out of that in a moment I'll never forget, it was the strangest thing, I was lain in bed and I had the distinct impression my "mind's eye" slid suddenly from about 6 inches above my head (the outside observer) back into my skull... And the moment it happened I thought "What am I doing? I could be riding my motorbike across the moor." Sounds daft but that thought simply would not have occurred to me one minute before because then anything good relied on something coming fron elsewhere, to suddenly realise I could make myself happy was a startling revelation at the time, though it sounds completely mad to say it. But, yes, the madness that comes eith being in the spotlight (and losing that position) is very, very difficult to deal with and very rarely spoken about - it's why most old performers are so broken and spend all their days reliving their past. ...Fury has probably the biggest challenge of his life to overcome that - in comparison, relieving depression is childs play, that one can leave you a soulless shadow forever and very, very few people, if any, understand what you are up against because the vast majority never get anywhere near that experience.
This is the most personally impactful video I've seen on RUclips this year, this is quite moving to understand what Tyson was going through, I will view him in a different way going forward
Something to add...I really admire the peace of mind Tyson has achieved. Depression and anxiety is something some people are born with. My 21 year old son Sean suffered with Depression and we lost him in 2018.
Love this man. Truly is a great hero of our time. I understand exactly what he is saying because i have lived a similar life. Not a boxing one but the pain of an alcoholic father and being unsure of who i am and feeling lost with no hope. But i also had the pain of losing lots of family members. My dad moved to London from Ireland when we were kids. I never understood it at the time but wow i am so grateful now at the age of 28. Was a tough time growing up. Still is tough but by god am I glad we have the opportunity to be great, I also exercise in order to keep the head straight. Thank you Fury for ur words of wisdom. I would love to meet you someday. I bought every book and if i had the money to watch you I would. Love and Respect always Champ.

It's definitely time for a change, buddy.
So sorry to hear of your struggle
There is light at end of tunnel
U will get there x
What an honest and open interview, Mr Tyson Fury is a man of integrity and strength, who is willing to share with the world his experience of poor mental health, Thankyou to this channel for allowing Tyson to tell his story.
He was a druggie he didn’t have mental health issues 😂
Tyson Fury is a drug cheat who only fought bums and has beens he never beat a good fighter in their prime
@@jaggafeen hahah are you for real? Get in the ring with Wilder and then let me know if he's a bum
true champions actually get in the ring now and then, rather than this bluffer dodging any serious challenge. Absolute con-man, you've fallen for it.
He faked it so people like you believed him
😂😂😂😂true champ 😂😂😂😂😂
Tyson is a true warrior and role model for everyone.
Nothing but admiration & respect for Tyson. Such an inspiration to so many of us.
I’m having a tough time at the minute. Watching this has given me strength to fight to try and fix my situation. Thanks Tyson.
And recently just laughed at everyone with mental health issues how do you feel now?
What a great interview guys! What a great mental health message to people who are suffering x
Better to call a therapist than go to a hospital though.. wasting a hospital doctors time could potentially cause lost lives.
I also once called an ambulance during a very bad panic attack. I felt very stupid later, and like you, was made to feel stupid, although this was back in the early 90s. @@delanodegenie6970
I meant a mental hospital. I was considering killing myself, and believed they could help with that.@@jackrobinson5679
Best boxer in the history of the sport!
Tyson is & always will be the people's champion 🏆
Long live the Gypsy King!
Nonsense - he'll only be the best of this era, let alone the best ever, when he stops ducking Usyk and then beats him.

Probably down with the best PODCAST out there, I have battled Mental Health for a long time.Thank you, you are an inspiration and can say it definitely saved my life. Just signed up for my next fight... Tyson a true LEGEND
I've always admired you tyson as a fighter and a human ..this conversation and the way you have put forward your truth has blown me away. I know your wisdom will be music to many ears.. you're a living legend..bless you
Tyson speaking out means so much to millions.
Wow that is a different man to some of the crap I see spouted on social media etc.. much respect to Tyson for sharing. Brilliant interview
I've never heard anyone explain what I've gone through in my life better than Tyson.
Incredible role model. I could listen to Tyson all day. Love to just chat to this incredible human being
Not a boxing fan but really enjoyed this podcast Tyson Fury so truthful an inspiration with a 19 granddaughter who has been diagnosed with bipolar listening to Tyson journey really helped understand the illness thank you for being so open
This was like a therapist session, brilliant insight into his highs and lows. Great honest content.
I needed this so much. Thank you guys and thank you to one of the Greatest Heavyweight of all Time. Thank you Tyson Fury for giving me the courage and strength to be better.
This is probably the best thing I've ever seen on RUclips
Respect for working out his psychological issues (his private and public personas), and being grounded straight after a big fight, emptying his house bins!
Damian was different class in this episode. He asked some really tough questions about some grey areas to someone who I imagine is extremely intimidating to interview and it was very interesting to hear Tyson’s reaction. Great pod 🙏
Tyson isn't intimidating to interview. You just have to chat with him like a mate.
As someone who’s experienced what he’s been through… everything he’s speaking is truth.. pray for ppl going through this ! Only God saved me
Tyson is an inspiration to our generation.
Yes I wonder how life would've turned out for him if he'd had more options than his culture offered
he's an extraordinary bell end
6 Title fight and a sissy attitude. He's nothing compared to ali
I have no idea how I stumbled upon this. But I am so glad I did because I know I'm not alone, and seeing such an amazing man speak on this is absolutely relatable and special. So thank you.. Gives me hope I can do more. Thank you
Thank you Mr. Fury for sharing your experience to the world!
Thank you Joseph
That is 1 of the best interview's I've ever listened to so many people only have opinions on tyson fury the boxer but after watching that it is a real eye opener to the man away from boxing and the struggles and deamons he had to deal with and the way he dealt with them and the help he seeked a real great watch
Amazing episode, amazing content and inspiring too! Tyson is one of the only few that speaks the truth, it’s a rare gem!
I'm so glad he turned it around in doing so saved so many peoples lives as they have taken inspiration from him
well said Tyson, any man who admits his vulnerabilities and then does something about it is a true fighter,
An incredible conversation on so many different levels.
Brilliant interview, just came across your chanel I love Tyson and what he has achieved. Well done guys
Thank you!
Honestly one of the best interviews I've ever watched, the man is an absolute inspiration 🙌
Tyson described it perfectly.
You can check out anytime you want but you can never leave.
You can see the emotions he is feeling from his face, body language and demina. He had to become the world's unbeatable physical champion before completing his true mission which is an unbeatable inspiring mental health champion ❤
Really? He’s literally just laughed at people like you in a recent video yet you still like him
He might have lost to usyk but he’s a true warrior what a guy
Love Tyson, absolute legend. Brilliant podcast well done to all involved 👏🏼
Superb interview and thank you
"Honesty" ? 😆
@@G-Man78 Yes honesty and sometimes to honest to a fault

@@G-Man78 Looking at your previous comments of fury you are a hater what is up did he knock the fuck out of Bambi Wilder🤣 Bum squad
@@G-Man78 Ahahahahaha you are Wilder fan ahahahaha Wilder got beat the shit out of Tyson made him his bitch
RETIRE TYSON..... YOU HELPED SO MANY PEOPLE...ME BEING ONE OF THE MANY...LOVE YOU LOTS .
Totally agree: check out the book Dopamine Nation
Hey Doug. I don't know you but I love you man. I'm sure you're a good soul and would have a beer or coffee with you and listen to your stories
The quality and depth of the questions on this podcast is amazing. Keep it up lads
Looking forward to watching
We Hope You Enjoy The Full Episode! 💪
Subscribed! One of the best interviews I have ever watched, Well done lads!
Great interview. Tyson is a great inspiration and I wish him and his family well. 🙏
Tyson Fury is amazing. Forget how much of an elite boxer he is. The way he has opened up and talks about his mental health is just so inspiring.
His mental health is light years ahead of any physical prowess. Salute.
An big up his wife for sticking by him all them years x
This is the most personally impactful video I've seen on RUclips this year, this is quite moving to understand what Tyson was going through, I will view him in a different way going forward
Wow! Another belter podcast lads. Keep up the good work. Have a boss week 👍🏻
Thank you Dylan!
Something to add...I really admire the peace of mind Tyson has achieved. Depression and anxiety is something some people are born with. My 21 year old son Sean suffered with Depression and we lost him in 2018.
So sorry to hear that

Best interview I’ve seen with Tyson loved it so honest he obviously trusts you. Good men!
Great podcast lads 👏🏼👏🏼 I hope this helps all the people that suffering from mental health and anxiety and depression!
